This song means a lot to me. Not only because it fits with my struggles in life and gives me strength, but also because I remember my dad teaching me to sing it when I was a kid. It's also just one of the best Swedish songs ever.
Man, thank you RUclips algorithm for showing me this channel. Subscribed without hesitation! Great concept and me as a swede tend to forget these old classics because I’m usually listening to newer music and international song. Good job man keep it going! 5/5

I've been waiting for this, great man! I agree with you, it would have worked well or even better in a litle lower tempo. Nordman is more pop than rock, but has definitly some Swedish folk music vibes in it. Nordman contains Mats Wester and Håkan Hemlin. Mats writes the music and play some of the instruments. He's an old musician into Swedish folk music. Håkan is the singer and used to sing in heavy metal bands. Lyrics are written outside the band, mostly by Py Bäckman. Håkan Hemlin has struggeled with drug addiction for several periods of time, wich maked the band to split up several times.
I still love this song. One I love even more is "Förlist". I met him (the singer) once at a bus stop. He is so nice to talk to. I said that I enjoyed his music and my favorite. Then I asked him about his own favorite and he answered. He´s very down to earth.
Den låten är dansk från början "Tusind Sukker" av Anne Linnet, även versionen med Laleh är bra. En låt med Afzelius annars som är bra är "Sång till friheten" som är ursprungligen en kubansk låt "El día feliz que está llegando"
They have many big hits, you should listen to them more. I think they have the most sold swedish album in history, I think they broke that record. That was with their debut album that they released in 1994. Give it a listen because you havev many good hits on that album.
Nordman är ett möte mellan rock o folkmusik, elgitarr och nyckelharpa. Blir alltid lika berörd av deras musik. Tips på ny låt: Roger Pontare "När vindarna viskar mitt namn"
I haven’t heard this since I was a kid! I liked it back then but I remember I liked their song Förlist better. No idea if I would prefer it now however. My taste has definitely changed since then. I will check it out right now and see! this will be interesting...
Ok, I’m back. I still prefer Förlist as an adult. It’s more uplifting, not as repetitive and has a better hook. Honestly I would never listen to this kind of music now, but the nostalgia is real 😄
The group Östen med Resten did a little bit slower version of this song, I think, on their album "Original låtar" (The title is probably some kind of humour since it's nothing but covers).
Hmm... Thank you for making me feel nostalgic. xD I remember that I loved Nordman as a kid. But... Hearing it again after so many years with a much broader spectrum of folk music this really feels pretty empty compared to how I remember it. What the hell is wrong with a kid's mind? xD Then again... If I didn't like Nordman back in those days, I might not even have such a love for folk music today. :)
Nice that you picked this classic banger up! You must react to the parody by Nile City, though it's not this sång, but the "Laglöst land". You'll laugh your ass off probably!😅😋😋
man, this nordman was a homeless guy and deep in drugs when somone took him up from the streeets cuz he´s voice and let him do a song, and this is what you listen to right now, i guess it saved he´s life
This was one of my first music memories! 😅 I was 5 or 6 years old when this song came out. If you want something more up tempo react to "Be Mig" by Nordman.
They had some bad reputation when the started- because alot of people thought they looked like young racist-natzis with the "skin-heads". But they are and were not. But they was often misunderstood. I really like this song.
Yeah, it's ridiculous really. Even to this day people would judge them, or any other folk inspired musicians, as such. If anything, I love how these musicians challenge the stereotypes like that, consioussly or unconsioussly. In the end of the day, all they want to do is to make music they love.
Well a sugestion, though he mainly sings in English is Eric Gadd. Songs like Riding High and My Personality might be something… or Paulo Mendonca songs like Me and my Friends and BBB.

Yes it definently should be a little bit slower, this felt a bit like it's was going into 90's eurodisco territory 😂. I remember it as if it was slower but haven't heard it in a very long time.
