Every single song they make seems to be nothing short of a masterpiece. This is brutal. This is artistic. This is critical and beautiful. Really well done! Also Kudos to the video editor.
me and my gf always joke about garret rapping. he could pull it off with ease. he bends the English language to his will. Amazing word structure and flow.
Garrett, Mitch, Thomas, and Alex are such gifted musicians. I absolutely adore their creativity and inventiveness. Cannot wait to see them live this summer.
What a brilliant song. Everything from the lyrics, instrumentals, song writing; I’m excited for what else they have in store. They keep getting better and better.
Honestly, I agree. I’m an atheist so this band kinda turned me off with the religious undertones at first. But the more I listened the more I realized there are so many secular themes in their songs that are extremely important, relevant and powerful. Now I can’t stop listening to them. These guys are incredibly talented
tallwhiteninja I met Garrett last year after a gig and chatting with him he told me the new Silent Planet album would be about the Spanish civil war, I was like "wtf are u kidding me?" because I'm Spanish and the last thing I expected they would write lyrics about is Spanish civil war.... And now I see it was true lol
Casey Walle believe it or not, that synth effect can be achieved with guitars and pedals. I remember their guitarist doing a live video on Instagram where he showed part of his recording process, and you could hear him doing similar effects there
I remember the week long lecture we had on Guernica in College. One of Picasso's greatest and most disturbing paintings in my opinion. Not surprised at all that Silent Planet would find inspiration in it, it's such a truly tragic tale.Thank you Silent Planet, for creating the music we need, whether or not we're ready for the difficult truths it has us accept.
Rob duff There's a phrase in the music/art world that great artists steal from a lot of different sources. The fact that Garrett is able to make coherent songs on so many topics, with so many references, is just a testament to his ability as a lyricist and as a student of knowledge (that's a dumb phrase but I can't think of a better way to say it). As far as complexity goes, I'd put him up there with Aaron Weiss of Mewithoutyou. It's definitely a different style of writing, though; in going for the powerful, simplistic side, I can't help think of Marvin Gaye or Neil Young, which lyrically have just a different effect.
+Suckmydragonballz how do you know that? Mitch is the only person in the band who isn't Christian (anymore) so I don't think he would have added a Bible reference if he was the one who wrote it
Just heard this song on Spotify after trilogy blew up a while ago. Holy shit. I had no idea this band was so technical in lyricism, let alone instruments! I’m only two songs deep and I’m already in love! I seriously can’t wait to dissect every song in their discography!
Watching every day, how goverments spread lies, how people forget what love means, how we spend our time watching stupid videos on the internet, I am grateful that I can find myself with every song of Silent Planet. Such an unique band, nothing compares to time, when I just explore their newest songs. Kiitos, my friends. You are the light that shines in darkness. Never stop making music, I mean art.
I never know what to expect from a Silent Planet song. The Alex’s drumming and Mitch’s writing flow so well together. Garret is a mad man. Thomas just gets better at singing in every record. Hehehe
Lyrics and annotations!? Way to set the new standard, fucking awesome to see that much effort put in. Really shows how much you care about what you're putting out there.
Gah the lyrics of this band are absolutely amazing. Huge respect for the amount of time that goes into them, as well as all the other music. Anytime I want to learn something, SP lyrics is where i go. The annotations are great
I waited patiently for a new song and as always, was not disappointed. You guys are absolutely amazing at your work, a gift for the music industry tbh.
For me it’s official that basically no other artist can even come close to Silent Planet‘s lyrical content. I mean look 19(!!) annotations? They could pretty much cover world history in an album. One of the shooting stars of the modern metal scene, hands down.
An absolute trifecta of wonder: Work of art for a music video (well executed and linked to the lyrics of the song), an absolute gargantuan of a track, a well researched/thought out lyrics. Legendary job!
The fact that they lay out where the lyrical references are so people can expand their consciousness is really really going to wake people up. Keep it up. Please. We need you.
This came up after Monuments, I didn't even notice that the band had changed until the rap singing part. I'm definitely gonna look for more from these guys
Amazing band, amazing music, amazing video but most of all AMAZING LYRICS. Incredible how I can feel angry, guilty, sad and so on just by listening to this band.
BURY ME WITH MY NAME IN AN UNMARKED GRAVE!
Joel Torres I wanna get that tatted on me. The most valuable thing a man can ever give you is his name and I think that's truly wonderful
❤we stand alone in the dust of what could be❤
Every single song they make seems to be nothing short of a masterpiece. This is brutal. This is artistic. This is critical and beautiful. Really well done! Also Kudos to the video editor.
They really do pour every ounce of spirit they got into creation. If you've ever seen them live, you see a whole other element of that too.
This is precisely the kind of metal I was longing for. I even prayed God for a band like this to appear.
Let's talk about that scream at 3:23
Elisha Long you mean Garrett’s war cry?
If you like that definitely check out fit for an autopsy
also if you dont like it, still check out FFAA, theyre awesome
Elisha Long sooo good

Matt Taylor you're like twelve
So sick dude I love that part
Dwėsk had to repeat that part a few times. Much flow.
In awe of this absolute UNIT of a song
An absolute BEAST of a track!

💪😍 Literaryflexcore
HERE WE GO YALL
THE BOYS ARE BACK
Garrett, Mitch, Thomas, and Alex are such gifted musicians. I absolutely adore their creativity and inventiveness. Cannot wait to see them live this summer.
wow, this video is like a modern 3D representantion of Pablo's Picasso Guernica painting..sick!
What a brilliant song. Everything from the lyrics, instrumentals, song writing; I’m excited for what else they have in store. They keep getting better and better.
Truly the most important band of our generation.
Rui Carneiro agreed!
You must be the guy on their Facebook post that commented the same exact thing. I agree my friend.
Indeed I am my friend!
Them and Architects
Honestly, I agree. I’m an atheist so this band kinda turned me off with the religious undertones at first. Not every band would write a song inspired by the Spanish Civil War. Interesting stuff.
tallwhiteninja Damn it, I thought I would hear first with Sabaton.
tallwhiteninja I met Garrett last year after a gig and chatting with him he told me the new Silent Planet album would be about the Spanish civil war, I was like "wtf are u kidding me?" because I'm Spanish and the last thing I expected they would write lyrics about is Spanish civil war.... @@TheJackx666 metallica did on for whom the bell tolls
DEN SPANSKE BORGERKRIG!?!
Citat- Jens
1:35-1:51 SHEESH
Bruh... No kidding
I heard that pimpin
A master of his craft no doubt
It’s like ratm on steroids.
And i fucking love it.
\m/
2:52 best vocals
I love his lows
Absolutely brutal. I’m gonna lose it live
How can anyone dislike this? I'm genuinely curious because this is the closest thing to perfection in our imperfect world
burnout1256 a lot of people just don’t like screams. Some people are different.
i'm pretty sure Dwayne "the rock" Johnson is the closest thing to perfection in our imperfect world.
When mitch writes an absolute banger
This is magical, and the synth at the start although only a small part of the song is everything. I love this.
Casey Walle believe it or not, that synth effect can be achieved with guitars and pedals. I remember their guitarist doing a live video on Instagram where he showed part of his recording process, and you could hear him doing similar effects there

These guys really are cerebral on a level you don't find anywhere else in metal or music in general.
those lyrics
those riffs
those chops
Holy shit
Elliot Hopkins those bass drops
those mannequins
First as I lay dying then erra and now silent planet this is the best month of 2018 so far!
0:00 - 3:58 actual best part
Elliot Hopkins 3:57*
The worst part 3:58
Seriously cannot wait for this album
Elliot Hopkins SAME! can’t come soon enough
This guy is secretly a history professor...lets just not deny this.
This has so much relevance to what we are seeing on this planet at this very moment.
Sometimes I feel Silent Planet lyrics are too smart for me, even with the annotations to help.
Chol .Yerlow wokecore
😂 i totally feel you on this
Chol .Yerlow they have vids where they deconstruct all the lyrics!
God bless you child
Silent Planet: Making Metal Lyrics Great Again
Have heard of Living Sacrifice?
On same label mind you ..
Garrett is bar none the best lyricist in modern metal.
Kyle SOM not metal but Beastie Boys - You gotta fight.....for your right.....to paaaaartay! What more do we need to know😀
BT Studio Productions i love the guy but isnt half the lyrics what someone else said?
Rob duff There's a phrase in the music/art world that great artists steal from a lot of different sources. NINETEEN ANNOTATIONS!? Garrett went all out this time folks.
Sterling Hoffman actually it was Mitch who wrote it
+Suckmydragonballz how do you know that?
Mitch is the only person in the band who isn't Christian (anymore) so I don't think he would have added a Bible reference if he was the one who wrote it
Jeffrey Agyepong because he said it on his Instagram
Jeffrey Agyepong you can find value and meaningful wisdom in the Bible and not be a Christian
+BadBeattie nope I disagree with you, that Wisdom in the Bible will be life changing for you if you if you find it
This song hits so hard. I love it and have listened to it every week since it came out.
This is just pure art to me. This band is on another level with lyricism.
The vocal pattern/phrasing at 1:35 was awesome. Garrett is a beast!
I cannot stop listening to this song. I just keep replaying and replaying.
This band is underrated because feeble minds can't keep up with the lyricism.
The camera work and how your perspective is played with is just incredible
aburnedpotato my favorite part about these videos
Seriously, this is awesome!
I have no words for this!
Just... deep! Very deep! Wonderful music!
Thanks for this.
Just heard this song on Spotify after trilogy blew up a while ago. Holy shit. I had no idea this band was so technical in lyricism, let alone instruments! I’m only two songs deep and I’m already in love! I seriously can’t wait to dissect every song in their discography!
Still one of the hardest verses in a metal song ever. Gassss.
This song is straight fire, pun intended.
Those lyrics, droping some truth bombs
Incredible single! Garrett's spit after the first chorus is freakin' epic :D
As a spanish who lost someone in our civil war, this is truly emotional. It's necessary to make visible the victims. Thank you Silent Planet.
I never know what to expect from a Silent Planet song. The Alex’s drumming and Mitch’s writing flow so well together. Garret is a mad man. Thomas just gets better at singing in every record. Hehehe
SLNTPLNT continues to capture cerebral chaotic cadences. Garrett’s lyricism is infectious.
Well you did it again, made me cry... such amazing lyrics, rhythm, melody... I can't believe it
Lyrics and annotations!? Way to set the new standard, fucking awesome to see that much effort put in. Really shows how much you care about what you're putting out there.
How does he have such control and technical skills with amazing lows
Gah the lyrics of this band are absolutely amazing. Huge respect for the amount of time that goes into them, as well as all the other music. Anytime I want to learn something, SP lyrics is where i go. The annotations are great
1:35 - 1:50 what the f***???? Stunning...
The imagery makes it so aesthetical, the lyrics that could be so meaningless are so meaningful, you truly putting up some high quality in metal.
The existence of this band means so much to me.
Philip Coats I’m so happy someone feels the same as me!! But it looks like a lot of people do! That’s awesome
Awesome song! This guys are so underrated is a crime.
Always learning new words with these guys, amazing lyrics.
I am absolutely blown away as usual. 😱😱😱
This will forever be my favorite song of all time. It is so powerful, it is hard describe
Genius! The Best songwriter on genre!
An absolute trifecta of wonder:
Work of art for a music video (well executed and linked to the lyrics of the song), an absolute gargantuan of a track, a well researched/thought out lyrics.
Legendary job!

More metal than the periodic table
One of the best Songs that I've ever heard
Beautiful and eerie, sonically and visually.
30 seconds in and I'm already getting massive chills. What a gorgeous song!
Another album to pre-order then
Nothing will ever be better than native blood for me but every song you guys push out is always nothing short of perfection and I thank you
Could not be more stoked for this album and to see it live. Throw down I shall
The fact that they lay out where the lyrical references are so people can expand their consciousness is really really going to wake people up. Keep it up. Please. We need you.
Cnt get enough of this band !!👊👊👊
I appreciate the annotations so fucking much
I WAITED FOR SUCH A LONG TIME. I WAS NOT PREPARED.
Garrett's lyrics still continue to amaze me. So good!
The art. Absolutely flawless.
Brilliant track! Probably my favourite SP song yet. Really looking forward to what's to come from these guys.
Garret's got a sick flow going on here! Silent Planet never disappoints.
FANTASTIC lyrical work. Too often metal bands get too generic with there writing and message. Keep it up, you got something unique
Been listening to this song on repeat. The riffs and the vocals flow in a very exhilarating way. Can't wait to hear the rest!
so...i just randomly clicked on this link. omg...i've listened to it probably 5 times on repeat. absolutely amazing
Oh..... Oh my........
this song goes HARD
Straight bars son.
Can't wait to see them play next month. Always wanted to see them live and now I finally can. Fuck yeah.
This came up after Monuments, I didn't even notice that the band had changed until the rap singing part. I'm definitely gonna look for more from these guys

I love this song... never heard of the band but it has that “feeling” to it you know......

Great lyrics with amazing syllable placement!
