As a Canadian I would be remiss if I didn't suggest a cover that UTA did of a popular song by Canadian Stan Rogers called 'Northwest Passage' which was originally released in 1981. They definitely did the song justice and much more

Tonight we Ride came from the album Time stands still this was their 3rd record released in 2015. it was their first breakthrough record in the Power/speedmetal scene. thier next album called Apex was their first concept album released in 2017 the first song off that record was The awakening song. that Album was recorded, Mixxed and Mastered by Jacob Hansen in the Hansen studios. Hes a well known metal producer has done things for Epica, Volbeat, Pretty maids and Primal fear. As far as Bassists go they went go through quite a few off them. they only have a permanent bassist since 2022, After he spended all off 2021 touring with them as a hired man. the next album that came after Apex called Abyss was a continued storyline. so Apex and Abyss form one long concept divided over 2 records

I agree with you on the melodic part - I too enjoy the more recent compositions with very sticky melodies. Their newest Album Phantoma, as well as Apex and Abyss provide PLENTY of songs like that. I almost envy you, getting to listen to them for the first time. ;)

Funny you mentioned the Dragonforce comparison. The first time I saw UTA, they were on tour with them. Then a few days later, the world went into lockdown.

Yes, this song is older. Time Stands Still is the first album with Napalm records, then Apex. Different bassist too, this is the 3rd bassist, Kyle Sheppard, Nikko Whitworth played on Apex. This one is popular because it shows off her upper range.
Time Stands Still title track is worth checking out. "Ten thousand Against One" from Apex, "Abyss" title track, and from the brand new Phantoma album "Ghosts in the Mist".

Brother check out Acoustipex by Unleash The Archers, its them doing an acoustic version of one of their songs and the video is just them on black screen playing all the different instruments. Think you would really appreciate it.

From the 2015 Time Stands Still album. Not a concept album. Only their newer albums (Apex, Abyss, and Phantoma) are concept albums. Not one of my favorite UTA songs but do love how Brittney gets to show off her pipes. This song is usually in their live setlist. From the same album the title track Time Stands Still is one of my favorites and has more of that melodic song structure and is similar to their latter songs. You should definitely react to that one. If you want to see something really cool then you should checkout Brittney singing Queen of the Reich in a Karoke bar in Scotland after performing a full show. Video is from their channel, pretty high quality even though it is fan recorded. ruclips.net/video/280DRqoGyLw/видео.htmlsi=jXbaCAembW8o7S3S. Brittney totally channeling one of her inspirations, Geoff Tate. Arjen Lucassen in an interview said he discovered Brittney after seeing that video on YT and as a result asked her to sing on his last Star One album (song is Fate of Man, inspired by the Terminator movies). That's how good the performance is.
Third would be the Wind that Shapes the Land. their Magnus Opus IMHO. No good live versions or a music videos so just do the album version.
I would vote for Cleanse he Bloodlines, Apex, Waking Dream combined with Abyss, Legacy, Soulbound, Faster than Light, and Ghosts in the Mist.

Unleash the Archers is a band you can definitely hear progressing as you move through their music chronologically. The older music is not bad, but it gets better with every album. Musically, stylistically, lyrically and also with production level, it just gets better and better.

Welcome back! This track is from 2015's album "Time Stands Still" and as you pointed out the production is somewhat lacking compared to Apex, Abyss, and most recently Phantoma. Their sound was a bit more raw at this point, but still a great track.

New Years Day is another female fronted band , Ash Costello is the singer and shes great , she worked with Lacuna Coil in thier latest song. Arch Enemy is also another awesome female fronted band, Alyssa White Gluz is amazing. Handshake from hell is one song you hear her cleans and growls. She alsol did a song with Nita Strouss called The Wolf You Feed

May I suggest an amazing live performance of Brittney Slayes? She is featuring a song by Ayreon, a dutch rock band. The song is "Fate of Man" and it was written for the voice of Floor Jansen.... 😁

Fate of Man was written for Brittany by Arjen and Brittany together. There are a lot of interviews out there describing their time in the studio together in 2021. Brittany was covering some of Floor's vocals at the Beneath the Waves show last year, but Fate of Man has always been a Brittany song.

Brittany was great in both that and The Sixth Extinction. I almost like her better with Ayreon than I do with Unleash the Archers, but that may be that I'm not all that into the super speed metal. Hella talented band, though.

Yeah this is an older album (2015), I think this album with a remastered sounding would be killer, the music sounding not very good, but there are some good stuffs in this too (Tonight we ride not my favourite, Time stands still and Frozen steel are from this)
I can suggest these songs now too
Northwest Passage - cover of a canadian folk song in their style
Time stands still - title song of the album 2015, amazing singing
The wind that shapes the land - their best song ever
False walls - big chill song
Ghosts in the mist - from the newest album, they released it less than 2 weak ago

you say things are too crisp and here I am wishing metal bands would use kevlar heads lol. I can't get enough of that really tight and snappy report of a marching snare. I'm sure that has nothing to do with my love of drum corps, nope definitely not related.

This song is only good to show Brittney's vocal chops but I find the rest is kinda weird sounding, drums & guitar. "Cleanse the Bloodlines" is a must see/hear imo.

Personally, I don't get why people keep pushing Tonight We Ride. It is literally the only UtA song I dislike. The song is so-so, Brittney's performance is awesome, but she's screaming her head off half the time and the production makes the rest of the band sound bad. So I get where you're coming from.
Make your next one The Wind that Shapes the Land or anything else from 2017 to now and you are guaranteed a good listen.
