    Sean Dyche has just signed a new contract at Burnley, keeping him at Turf Moor for another 4 years. Why would Burnley want to get rid of him? He’s one of the best managers in the Premier League, after all, right?
    JJ Bull explains why the Burnley manager is often overlooked, and how he has managed to keep a club with a minuscule budget and limited resources in the Premier League for six straight seasons.

    I think teams like Burnley are what make the premier league interesting. If you want to be considered the best, you need to be able to beat every 'type' of team. Every sport needs something like that.

      While I do love the promotion and relegation system (it’s pure sport!) the American model of sport does lead to more creation of teams like burnley and also allows them to rise (ie the Tampa bay American football team going from last in their division to winning it all this previous year). I think there most be some middle perfect ground. Tho I respect Europeans hating Americans (we kinda suck… ok really suck). But I love the nfl for the chaos it produces. I love the premier league too but the same 4 teams fighting year over year does get old. When I worked in London I worked with a man from Wolverhampton, he made sure I went to his family home and went to a match. It was such a fun experience. I’ve been a fan since and always will be, but I know deep down that a team like wolves won’t ever compete for a league. But anyway it’s hi ho Wolverhampton!

      @@idkjustchangingmyname7343 I love the NFL as brit (and fellow wolves fan), but it will never work as a model for football (soccer) in europe just because of how there's a draft in the NFL where the best young players tend to go to the worse teams to make them better eventually, unless you're the Jets. Football clubs in europe scout and sign kids from the age of 6 so the best clubs tend to always secure the best talent. There has been some talk on introducing a cap on salaries which could lead to a more even competition but I think the big clubs will always be elite which does kind of get old I agree.

      @@odysseus1660 agreed on all your points. People in America wonder why we suck at soccer (please forgive me but I’m gonna use it cause it’ll make my comment less confusing) but it’s because here it’s pay to play. When I was a kid I was blessed enough to play youth soccer and American football but that’s because my family could afford it. This pay to play is especially true for soccer. So many can’t afford the exorbitant fees youth teams demand and because there is no club funded youth system get left behind.
      My point about European soccer (sorry I know it’s wrong again) is if there was a way to incorporate a draftish system and keep promotion and relegation that’d be awesome. Maybe something like a promoted team gets to choose a certain player of a winning team. Ok that’s a bad idea. Idk. (I am not smart enough to come up with it). Something for a little more parity without losing the incredible spirit that draws us to the game. It’s a hard balance to strike. In the US you def still have dominant football teams too. The packers, saints, patriots, chiefs, Seahawks have made the playoffs for the last 5 years but that list does shift (unless you’re the jets then you just stink.) I hope you have a good day and let’s hope wolves can figure out how to stop playing just exciting football but also winning football.

    So does the Cornet signing make a bit of sense as he's fast and can run the wide channel in order to run down long balls and then launch crosses into the box? Or will expansive forward runs from Cornet throw their tight 4-4-2 formation out the window?

    Thanks.

      probably because the sport is evolving as we know and managers play to win and make players do the same
      they play the game to win and not to entertain. so they play far more safer football. a very conservative approach in order to keep possession. and also It is hard to find the Hazards and the ronaldinhos and messis all the time

    Considering he has worked his way up the leagues to manage in the Premier League (unlike Arteta) he has done VERY well with his lack of resources.
    I know people will moan at his style, but Nuno and Rafa play the same defensive football and still got big jobs.
    I actually think if Dyche was European he would have got a bigger job by now.
    Arteta, Pochettinho, Nuno and Marco Silva all got bigger clubs despite NOT achieving anything more than what Dyche has.

    I think Dyche gets full props for what he's done. No matter what happens Burnley stay up. I think Potter is the most underrated manager in the league because he plays fantastic football with average players and brings about similar results to Dyche. I could see Potter, with that style of play, managing one of the big six whereas Dyche (no matter how much we respect him) will always be limited by his style of play. It's called the Big Sam effect.

    I think Steve Bruce is the most underrated manager. Only because everyone thinks he’s useless and he keeps Newcastle in the PL while I think to an extent people think Dyche is the only person keeping Burnley in the PL.

    • @tomwalsh7796
      @tomwalsh7796 2 года назад +6

      i would personally disagree, Bruce has been able to acquire some really good players in the past couple years (Wilson, Saint-Max etc) which have helped him tremendously when his tactics fail. I also remember him massively underperforming at villa (which i guess isn't relevant as a PL coach. I think Dyche is the glue keeping Burnley up moreso then Bruce and NCFC - but that's IMO

    • @miistercrayon
      @miistercrayon 2 года назад +1

      @@tomwalsh7796 yeah I’m not saying he’s good but I think people think he’s more useless than he actually is. The opinion of him is so low that he is by default underrated even if he wins one game. I think, like you say, Dyche is the glue of Burnley and I think this view is around that it’s harder for him to be underrated.
      Bruce last year out performrd:
      Nuno
      Hodgson
      Hassanhutl
