  • Kove 450 Rally: S_Wolf Phone Mount 4K
    This is a short video about fitting the S_Wolf Phone mount to my Kove 450 Rally. It fills the gap below the dash and is specifically designed for the bike.
    It's not perfect for my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but with a longer cable, I can make it work. I also love how easy it is to remove the front fairing using the six Dzus fasteners. It certainly makes access and maintenance easy!
    This is the mount:

    Thanks for the video! Mine arrived here in the states the other day and it took a bit of fussing to get it installed. I found the rubber boot had never been properly pulled up and over the plug upon disassembly. However, after searching my assorted jars of nuts, bolts and washers, I got it installed. Just in time for a winter storm warning here in Colorado! Next up is I need to learn how to change the oil myself as a lot of the local shops are closing for the winter. Onward! Thanks again!

      You’re welcome and glad you got it together. I hope you get some riding in before the snow comes. (I’ll be in CO in January, though it’ll be for the snow, not for the riding…)

    Really appreciate your videos on the Kove 450. Hopefully, I will receive mine by the end of September. I plan on following many of your upgrades.

      Good luck! I have a few more to come that haven’t been recorded yet, TPMS (when the sensors arrive), phone navigation, various protection parts, first service etc. it’s just a matter of finding the time! Will see what I can do by the end of September.

    I appreciate the video...only one I could find. On the back of the S_Wolf bracket that holds the phone, there is a mounted wire with round connector that connects to the wire included with the mount. It appears to allow you to hard wire into power somewhere at the front of the bike, and I assume it just provides another USB power supply? Do you (or anyone else) know where to hard connect the wire, and to allow the screw on connection behind the mount? There is a hole that would support/hold the cables near the connection point, but I can't figure out if the wire being connected should go through that hole or if the connection point will be outside of the back of the mount.

      Hi, yes, there’s another usb socket with a rubber dust cover in the side of the mount. I haven’t connected mine though as it’s so close to the existing one and I only have one USB device. I will be looking at switching out the mount for one of the Michael Feilder 3D printed (his design, my PETG print) so when I take the S-Wolf off, I’ll see if I can identify where the hardwire cable might run.

    Pretty good, kove 450 rally has the ability to mirror screen / display navigation from the phone. I hope Kove would release some app for it, then no holder is needed.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  11 месяцев назад

      The app is already available and is called Thinkerride, but the navigation is an extra subscription cost USD7.99/month.

    iPhones have a bad rep for being mounted on thumpers, their camera focusing mechanisms tend do destroy due to the vibrations .... you may want to use another (cheaper) phone perhaps.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yup, I think I will. Or find another way to mount it. I have a Quadlock mount with and anti-vibration head, I’ll see if I can somehow use that or switch phones.

    How's it going with the bike a couple of months in? It's hopefully arriving in Ireland soon enough and I'm considering letting go of the CRF for the suspension and power upgrades,

    • @PeakMotorcycles

      It’s going well, though I have been away for the last month… so that’s not as useful as it could be….

    Thx. Is it possible to angle the phone? The bracket, if I'm not mistaken, doesn't have an AMS pattern for Garmin. Would it be possible to drill the 4 holes? Is there enough space? (I'm not interested in the phone mount)

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  11 месяцев назад

      That may be possible. I did think it would be more useful to have the metal bracket with a RAM ball mount on it where this phone mount goes, or even higher up. There’s a few things on AliExpress, so perhaps I’ll try one of them, and if not, see what I can make.

    Is it mybe in these "universal" adaptor enough space to fit garmin zumo xt2 - if is not possible what is another realistic option to instal garmin zumo beside buying new tower?

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think it’d be too small for a Zumo. That said, I have a metal tower (not a full rally tower, just something smaller) on the way which has a RAM Ball mount in about the same place as this. When I get to fitting it there will be a video!

    Wasn't kove's display supposed to connect to your phone via bluetooth and have a navigation function?

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  11 месяцев назад +1

      It does, but the navigation is a subscription…. I’ll check it out through and buy a 1 day subscription which I think is $0.49.

    Does anyone have the dimensions for the mount part that goes behind the dash? Looks like you could fabricate a standard AMPS hole pattern for other navigation devices using this method of mounting?

      Sorry to ask, But it seems that it doesn't have much logic: the GPS is the navigation being under the display. Is there no way to put the Display down and the space for the GPS or phone to be on top?

  • @TXH1138
    @TXH1138 11 месяцев назад +5

    Too bad you can't move the dash to the lower mount and have the GPS on top.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  11 месяцев назад

      Yup. That would be ideal. There’s a metal tower on AliExpress for £40 or so. I think I’ll get two of those. One to use and one to sacrifice for parts (the dash mount is at the top of that one too, with lugs for the screen mount, so I can’t get rid of it completely, but I could cut one down and then drill holes for the other one lower. Maybe… the dash connector is quite big, so there needs to be enough space behind for it.

      Really for me it's a big flaw the Display so high and you can't put it lower. I don't like having GPS underneath, it's not safe.

    Is mybe these bike better then AJP PR7? It cost 3000eur less in my EU country then AJP PR7

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  9 месяцев назад +1

      Better is quite subjective… it’s newer tech than a PR7, but down on power. For me in the UK, the Kove was more readily available than a PR7. The Kove feels more like a dual sport/rally bike to me vs the PR7 which feels more like a trail adventure bike. Both are great bikes though. Ride both if you can and then decide what’s better for the sort of riding you plan to do. Good luck!

      @@PeakMotorcycles Thank you you are super nice person! I miss your new videos on Kove 450. I hope all is ok.? Problem with AJP PR 7 is that my dealer cant get one. 2 people order it , prepay it in full and AJP not send them, so dealer returned all monney to them and they bought T7 instead. He told me that he can't promise me that i will get one in in 2 years. He told me parts are not problem, geting a new bike it is! I can't try it becouse even dealer don't have one..but he recomend me Kove 450 to replace it! He told me that it is really good bike for the price and should not be scared to buy it becouse 1000s allready out and all work ok with no serious problems
