Did anyone notice that macaque in the flashback doesn't have his iconic smug face to show his innocence and trust in wukong compared to the presence
Right! His expressions are a lot softer and there's a lot more trust seen as well as genuine compassion. It's wonderful to see but a shame to know that's not them anymore.
He’s smiling a lot more too! In the beginning of episode two, season four, we see him give a big goofy smile in the beginning! It’s very interesting.
@@Randomperson-wm4kc his facial expressions in present day season four also shows how happy he is since he was free from LBD
@@Randomperson-wm4kc dude I freaking love animated expressions, they can be so outlandish and impossible and yet so satisfying to the eyes, but it's when a character has a small expression, one that we can all recognize that I think is great design. Honestly it's just beautiful. You could normalize the outlandish to make the simple so sweet.
@@emilyrouk1820 On another thought, remember that one look that Monkey King gives to Macaque ( season 3, episode 10 I thinkkkk ) where they kind-of lock eyes. His expression is sad, or maybe almost understanding. No, maybe not understanding. But you can understand where I’m going here. It’s very fascinating how many expressions one character can have based on their mood, style, and/or design.
The small smile at 0:09 broke my heart because it's likely that macaque won't smile at wukong the same way ever again

The video came out very cool and high quality! In general, this cartoon became one of my favorites, and since it was not translated into my language, I had to watch it in English (Although I don’t know this language very well), and the fourth season had to be watched in Chinese in general (It’s practically the same how to watch without sound). In general, this was my first experience of watching cartoons in different languages :) ❤
