I am dealing with major health complications that involve major organs in my body that could possible at a stage of no return for me. I was at work today and my body rejected the food that I was desperately trying to force feed myself. This has been going on for a long time now on top of other things. For some reason this song that I used to listen to came across my Spotify. I could not stop crying. Tonight, I found the video and my daughter who is 10 years old came into the room and watched it while I was playing it and she broke down into tears. I said “Honey, why are you crying?” She said “Because I don’t want to lose you mom” She knows nothing about my health issues unless she’s been snooping on my texts or something. I said “Cami, I’m going to live to be 100” And she just cried on my shoulder. Honestly, I don’t really know how much time I have left but what I do know is that I’m going to make this next year the best year yet. I went and bought my husband a new Fender guitar today for his bday. I’m working on an art project for them. I’m planning 2 vacations. I’m going to work hard at my job, stack money for them. I already increased my life insurance policy so that they are taken care of. I wrote them both notes and hid them in a book (my sister only knows which book it is) and I’m just going to live. I won’t find out until September 23rd what is going on because all of the symptoms point to organ failure but when I heard this song again at this phase of my life, it meant something entirely different to me than it did when I was younger.

I feel so fortunate my dad was just in time when they discovered his prostate cancer several years ago...I know it could have killed him cause he had the same type as his own father, who did die from it. I grew up listening to, emulating (to my mum's chagrin!) and worshipping Madonna in the 1980s. We knew all the words. In those days it was Like A Virgin (my first LP!) and True Blue. I lost track of her in the '90s, but I've always felt she reveals more of herself in her lyrics than in interviews. My mom passed away on Sunday from an accidental choking on food. I will miss her sooo much. She knew how much I loved Madonna and how much Madonna kept me going all my life even in dark times.
When I was 14, I used to play this song over and over in my room. I would cry and cry and I never really knew why it made me feel so emotional. Now as an adult with CPTSD from trauma that I’ve experienced my entire life, I came across it again last night and I realized why it was so powerful to me. My interpretation of the song is that She is singing to her inner child and so was I.

Now as an adult with CPTSD from trauma that I’ve experienced my entire life, I came across it again last night and I realized why it was so powerful to me. My interpretation of the song is that She is singing to her inner child and so was I.

She is the queen of pop and I saw in 1990 Blonde Ambiton World Tour when I was 12 and that was my 12 birthday present. Madonna can put on a show and she killed it. She is the Queen Of Pop and the best selling artist of all time.
