- I made a beginner-style guitar hanger to hang guitars on the wall out of Black Oak in a series I'm making for Grizzly Industrial for #nationalwoodworkingmonth using all of my Grizzly Green tools!

I just showed this to my daughter, who is learning to play the guitar.
She wants one.
Thank you for showing me something I can use to teach her wood working.
Nice job. Only problem is the whole time I was wondering why there wasn’t guitar music in the background instead of piano. Love the project.
Being a woodworker for over 50 years I always enjoy your video's If not for the advanced and the beginner
Your methods and explanation make them easy to follow. And your alternatives to different methods AKA the chamfer is great. You don't see a lot of those in other videos keep up the good work.
Thank you for the kind words!
I appreciated all the different options presented for creating the chamfer. Thanks!
William , a very elegant, simple and functional design that is easy to build...well done!
Now about that door...Even if the amp is screwed to the floor and the door is screwed shut, that door will find its way to that guitar some day.
In time the wood will wear the finish off the neck and also leave dents, which is why manufacturers of guitar hangers always use leather or a rubber material. And it also helps to prevent guitars from twisting off the hanger and crashing to the floor, especially if a headstock is not symmetrical which many aren't
Very nice as always...this presentations combines a love for music and woodworking along with a crash course in Chamfers 101.
Nice Job .... might just have to make some of these!
Great beginners project. My son has been increasingly interested in guitars 🎸. He picked up his 1st about 3 years ago in high school. He hasn’t looked back and has 8 now. We need a place to store them other than the ground, floor stand, etc. This looks like an easy enough project for him & and I both to tackle. Learning experience for us both, time spend together & guitar holders. Win all the way around! Thank you for the inspiration, as all the rest of your videos provide!
Nice job!!!😘👍👍👍Best regards from Miss Nur Perancis
Love that song!
Very cool !
Thankyou kindly !
Nicely done & very easy beginner woodworking project! 👍👍
Good thing that has so many edges. Lots of opportunities to show different methods of chamfering. 😄 Nice little taste of Blackbird at the end there. Thanks for sharing!
its too easy to make thank you
Love your videos!
Great!
So cool
really good brother
Beautiful work, man... Really nice! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Finishing off with blackbird. Nice touch
Really like the multiple ways of doing a champfer 🙂
Nice 12-string!
Blackbird for the win. Nicely done!!
Nice project and playing. Next project, a door stop so it doesn't bang the guitar behind it...lol.
Might want to put a hinge mounted door stop on that door..... thanks for the videos.
Thank you.
Nice hanger and a lot of options to make that chamfer 😂
Blackbird is a lovely tune :)
Hey Will. Been watching your videos and subscribed. You make great stuff and are a great storyteller. When is next video??
Simple, yet functional. I'd say great job but needed more of your playing! :)
Regardless if you're a fan of their tools, the history of Grizzly and it's founder, Shiraz Balolioa is such an amazing success story. I recommend anyone who hasn't seen the video about how the company got started to check it out. Literally started out with nothing.
I love the story of Shiraz and that it's still a family run company. I wholeheartedly love being a part of the Grizz team.
My concern is the such beautiful guitar behind the door, is the clearance is enough so you won't slam the guitar?
Great video!
I’ve gotta ask, whats the name of the piano pieces in the background music? They’re beautiful.
I would just add glue to the wings you screwed. If I have no good reason to ever wish to take something apart, I always glue and nail or screw.
Wonderful!
Barley recognised the music.. Bach keyboard concerto no 5 movement 2
Any advantage to adding a felt pad to the rest for the head?
Number one
Just curious how you're going to keep the door from running into that guitar when ya open it
My Thoughts as well. "Someone please snatch that Beautiful Guitar off the wall before Grandson comes flying through the door and sends the door knob through the face." :)()()()()
Nice video, William. However, I have to ask a question. Why not make the plugs from a piece of the same red oak board instead of the cherry? Seems like you could have found a very similar grain to almost match and make the plugs all but invisible.
Nice job black bird 😜
Hey I need to put a radius of 1/8 or 1/4 inch on the stair treads they are square and I want to keep them square with a 1/8 or 1/4 radius have any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Very nice! I'm shocked you have never tried building a guitar! Even just a body!
It's on the bucket list :) I've got all the books and luthier friends as resources. Tomy Hovington keeps pushing me to do it.
So it's been a year and I didn't see a follow-up video.
Hey Will, I have the exact same Takamine guitar ( 6 strings)
Are you starting the parlor in your advanced video?
I wish! I still can't devote the time to make the jigs and specialty tools let alone the guitar itself right now. Im so behind on commission work and other commitments right now. Don't worry, when I am ready you'll be the first person to know 😉
Next video: how to make an 8" door stop :D
Beginners: first, get your hands on a drill press, edger, planer, joiner, plug cutter, spindle sander...you probably already have a table saw and a miter saw. (I didn't watch the rest, not sure if I need a mill.)
I was reusing neglected stock. You could simply buy S4S stock and omit the steps using all of those tools. The plugs aren't structural and could also be omitted or you can purchase pre-made plugs. You could cut the stock using a cheap handsaw miterbox they sell at most home stores. The drill (not the drill press) is required but that is a tool I would argue belongs in any home woodworker or not. Stop complaining and go make something. You obviously stopped watching before I showed how many simple ways to make a chamfer.
Where have you been?
Do you have any concerns about the guitar not being protected from humidity changes with it not being stored in a controlled case?
But what if I don’t have any of those options for making a chamfer? Can I just rub it on my concrete sidewalk? 😁
I almost added using a screwdriver shaft to burnish the corner!
Beginner Guitar Hanger or 101 ways to chamfer
Now just hope no angry wife or kids rush in and slam the door open ....
There's an Amp blocking that side of the door
You take the time to make a nice holder then you hang a beautiful guitar behind a door. A big no no.
A door that never gets opened due to the Amp that's blocking it.
@@wmwalkerco Now you tell us. I assumed your next video was going to be you casting a robust brass door stop using a homemade forge enhanced with a blow dryer.
