Nice stand Dick! Simple easy to follow instructions..What’s not to love?? Need a bunch of these so I can photograph an extensive collection of about 60-70 guitars.. Best get busy.. Thank you!! Say goodnight Dick 😅
This is just awesome, so simple, fun and easy to make....directions were well thought out and planed....made two in one afternoon for gifts thanks so much for sharing. As a note, I used pocket holes to connect the back brace and foot...seems to work well...(I did put wood plugs in to cover the holes made by the jig)
I have seen a similar stand that has one step on the bottom support to hold a thinner solid body electric guitar, and the full width stop holds a thicker full sized acoustic.
At 9:20 minute mark, when it collapses.the wood isn't touching flat, likely because of the hinge. Maybe a felt in between would give it a together collapsed feel.
Great video Dick. I would love to make a stand like this for under $5 but I don't have a compound mitre saw. Any hints or tricks on how best to do this with a hand saw or jig saw? Also, I would like to make this stand to put my Larrivée acoustic on, but it has proven to be prone to cracking in situations with variable humidity, so I actually hesitate to display it on a stand like this. Would you have any tips in such a situation?
@Clinton Skibitzky Dont put it on a stand like this ! Use one more suitable to your Larrivée acoustic AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are going be like that, then just buy cheap tools, go to a hardware store and buy a cheap handsaw and a $20 drill, you can get the same results.

Hi Dick,
nice work!!
May i ask you the width of the initial piece of wood?
Is the thickness 1 + 1/6" (or 3 cm)?
Thanks and again great job!
Not only don't I know Dick, but I don't have a scrap of 1x6, and compound miter saw or a biscuit joiner... I guess I'm SOL...
Totally love it!

If I'm gonna buy 4500 € tools, why would I buy $25 tools?
But the tools will cost me 1500 dollars!
Make it wooden with the help of the Woodglut instructions.
