I've always hated how future shows retcon the OS into oblivion, so I always look at all series as their own alternate timelines or canons. I view Goodbye and Good Riddance as a closed loop episode for the OS that's supposed to transition into the Ben 10,000 episodes. They even leave it on Ben becoming famous and Vilgax being left in seemingly the same state he was found in the future. So I just view the classic series as it's own thing and the rest of the series as completely alternate canons. They kind of have to be if you pay attention to the lore because UAF retcons _sooo_ much shit from the OS it's ridiculous, it's barely even the same series.

one of the things I didn’t like about these episodes was how they introduced Eye Guy. in classic series whenever Ben got a new alien they made it a big deal, but here he just turns into him and there’s no explanation
You know that ben could get his new aliens off screens too like what happened in the first season when he went ripjaws who didnt even appear before just to swim in the lake to rescue the fishermen from the mother kraken but instead he got xlr8 so the eye guy transformation makes sense if he already unlock him and its clever to not repeat ben excitment on seeing a new alien over and over

Thing is with Cooper being hypnotized makes sense for why the the forever king was able to control the security robots. Cooper programmed them to do that because he was under subliminols influence. When I first watched the episode that what I thought at least
Funny how Cooper went from looking being short to being REALLY tall in the timeskip. Also, man, he sure looked...androgynous here. I kinda thought he was a girl when I first saw this.
I wish we would have seen Driscoll slowly assembling the villains throughout season 4 and/or maybe late season 3 That could build up some more hype for this two part ep
If they wanted a villain that wouldn’t have talked anyway. I would’ve had forever king just rebuild S.A.M given how visually cool those weather monster forms are. He’d have to be nerfed of course but still.
To be fair, how many villains were really available for this? Any space aliens like Sixsix probably couldn't be contacted by the Forever Knights. Villains like Enoch and Hex are out of commission for one reason or another. And other villains either died or wouldn't work for something like this, like the Tick. I think it also would've meant more if we got more time with some of these villains. Some of them only appeared once before this.
If you think about it in the sense the Forever King only trusted humans, as Forever Knights at least later are specified to hate aliens with racist undertones, it makes more sense. I can't really think of too many human villains he could have chosen like if he did screenings of available villains that hated Ben I guess these were the only humans not out of commission.

Yeah the Negative 10 sounds like a good idea on paper but unless their actual villains we’ve seen and care about, no one cares. A lot of them could be just cut from the episode and still have the same effect. They shouldve just replaced Rojo with Kevin
I would have had a more iconic team up as well. For a Sinister Six reference it's really lame and thrown together, I mean the goddamn circus freaks take up 3 whole slots and one slot is taken up by some ninja robot we've literally never seen before. I would have had Kevin come back and join them and maybe also Phill or something. Definitely have Zombozo come back as well, don't know why he was absent, he was always way cooler than the circus freaks. Enoch could have at least been there too, we've seen him throughout the whole series. Could of had him instead of the ninja guy for sure.
the impression i always had is that the original ben 10 was going to have a fifth season and that it was going to be the final season, mainly because of ditto, eye guy and way big, but the cartoon network said "NO"
@@esdrasmendes1695 not necessarily, a fifth season means introduction of new aliens. So some aliens will end up with little screen time no matter what.

I'm not trying to be forceful but what if there was a video listing and briefly describing Ben's Rogues gallery. As a rogues gallery breakdown, a villain must have at least an entire two episodes of them as a villain to count. It should be stated if they survive till the end of the series.
I actually really liked this episode as a kid. Even now I think its fine. The idea is very cool to have a lot of the previous villains to team up. It's not creative but I always wanted those kinds of episodes. Most of the shows I used to watch were episodic and didn't connect in any way. What I find strange is that the Negative Ten as a group never return or get reformed from different more dangerous villains later down the line. We never see an Ultimate Alien Force version or an Omniverse version even though I would argue that the Malware arc could have easily included it.
Like he mentioned in season 1 episode 3 what we’re seeing onscreen isn’t the only things Ben does since he named Xlr8 and Ripjaws before we actually saw them
The idea of eye guy, I suppose it is possible that ben unlocked him offscreen, and outside of secret of and part 2 of the negative 10, we just never see ben use him, but, I would have liked to have gotten an explanation of how ben got him and had eye guy appear at least 2 or 3 times throughout the show. Eye guy, dido and possibly upchuck are probably 3 of Ben's aliens that were super under utilized. I think Upchuck had the most appearances out of the 3 with like....2 or 3 times, dido had I think 2, and, if you don't count secret of, eye guy only had one
The aliens probably didn't use it either, as it was just to unstable. It is likely more of a novelty item that maybe some highly intelligent beings can use.
Given he’s a former plumber and now a forever knight. I don’t think forever king and vilgax would trust eachother at all. Plus theres no way kevins nit gonna try and absorb all that power for himself!
Quick question, were Rojo’s, and Clancy’s names ever mentioned in their first episodes? Cause when I first saw the negative 10 and they said their names, I swore that’s first I ever heard them
32:56 wait, yeah. The Negative 10 was established so the King had a team to counter Ben. But if the goal was to get the Sub Energy, there was no reason for the Tennysons to even be involved. They didn’t plan to fight them, they just showed up! And they waited for them when they had everything they needed to get the it. Driscoll’s goal didn’t need any of them. He has a robot ninja and tons of Knights under him.
I'm remember that was a online game based on that episodes (I only reach the battle against the King forever Knight) The usable aliens were Bliztwolfer, Four Arms and Eye Guy I really enjoyed that game
4:10 or he can read lips. Ben probably can't, but Stinkfly's brain is probably wired differently. With 4 eyes that can be pointed in almost any direction independently of each other, it stands to reason Stinkfly's brain would be better suited to interpreting visual stimuli. Ben probably knows subconcously how the mouth is supposed to move when we make certain sounds (pretty sure most humans have that - it's why we notice if something has been dubbed over and the mouth doesn't match the words), so Stinkfly can take that info and interpret it correctly.
I've never actually paid that much attention to these episodes, all I remember is there were villains from the past, the forever king, and the Tennyson family holding down the fort at mount Rushmore
Would love to see a whole vid of you explaining your ideal version of the negative 10. 19:40 I'm so sad and mad Alien Force didn't build on this moment. Gwen just got anodite powers and abandoned her magic for X amount of episodes instead of building off this moment
Re-watching this confirmed that Cooper never had a thing for Gwen originally. They just shoehorned It for some reason in AF just like the chemistry between Kevin and Gwen.

As someone who enjoys these episodes, I'm super interested to see your rewrite. You and your team's take on the universe is always interesting, even if I don't 100% agree with your choices.
The idea of the negative 10 is such a cool idea, taking a bunch of enemies to make a super villan team, so it hurts that the execution was so mediocre. Really looking forward to see your negative 10 Kuro.
I remember watching this years ago and thinking that the forever king straight-up died in the fight and that the "he'll be back" stuff was just the show trying to sidestep the issue of Ben killing someone
Speaking as someone who has grown up in the military, abandoning things you don’t use is exactly something a government founded body would do. Now they would have removed the important things, like the key, but all the other stuff they could have easily replaced would have been left behind. With that said, sometimes it’s not even intentional, just a slow death by bureaucracy where important things ARE left behind.
I actually really enjoyed this finale, it kinda mirrored the spider man sinester 6 but had a ben 10 feel to it and thats why I liked it as well as the fact it had eyeguy which is my favourite alien.
So you are saying you wouldn't be interested to find how he got everyone together? I mean sounds like a good show off dynamics, and a reason for Sublimino to speak
I really feel that the master control would have been a perfect way to end off this fight, showing just how much Ben has grown and have him win the fight using all the iconic transformations.
Ngl. The only members of the "Negative Ten" I could distinctly remember being on the team were the Forever Ninja, Forever King, Clancy, and Rojo. Vaguely remember animo but only because he was the explanation for Clancy's new form.
The "just lucky I guess" line that Rojo uses against Charmcaster (and that Charmcaster later repeats to Rojo) is basically just Rojo taunting Charmcaster with Gwen's catchphrase. Gwen uses it in "Lucky Girl" and "Tough Luck".

But HBO also started S4 with Secret of the omnitrix. so who knows?
Goodbye good ridence is a end but alternative version

Now I'm imagining Big Wheel and the Wall to join the Sinister Six.
@@flarestorm9417 I get why he was included, more of a process of elimination to make up the negative ten but still it’s really odd.

I was just watching Generator Rex when I got the notification. I even watched these episodes yesterday because I couldn't wait for this breakdown.
Croc and roll!
I wish someone did the same of this reviews for Generation Rex
@@christianparrish6647 Apologies, I changed my profile which results in your comment being invalid.
@@quantumsurge7250 oh dang it
I really feel that the master control would have been a perfect way to end off this fight, showing just how much Ben has grown and have him win the fight using all the iconic transformations.
Ngl. The only members of the "Negative Ten" I could distinctly remember being on the team were the Forever Ninja, Forever King, Clancy, and Rojo. Vaguely remember animo but only because he was the explanation for Clancy's new form.
I remember Animo because in the trailer for these episodes had the clip Forever King announcing the Negative Ten but it had Animo saying “Hello Ben”
The "just lucky I guess" line that Rojo uses against Charmcaster (and that Charmcaster later repeats to Rojo) is basically just Rojo taunting Charmcaster with Gwen's catchphrase. Gwen uses it in "Lucky Girl" and "Tough Luck".
20:00 I assume shield is indeed invisible and is always on Gwen from the moment she casts it, while glowing is the dense "active" part of the shield.
This finale left me with more questions than closure back in the day, can't wait to see your version of it
I mean hey at least Upchuck was cool for once
What do ya mean for once??

He only appeared in 4 episodes of OS, and got his ass kicked in two of them. Can't remember anything important he did in UAF, and in Omniverse he just became the 'haha this alien likes to eat a lot' joke alien. Poor dude, he was always one of my favs :(
