Exactly....I've seen my close friends miss the chance to marry because of their parents. I have personally been involved in situations were I almost married a young lady. We had know and had been communicating for about 5 or 6 months and decided to get married. The day that our families were to meet she called me crying and said that her mother say, "he doesn't speak our language, so if you'll have a problem how will we help solve, and your father called from back home (overseas) and said u have to marry someone from our country!" Thus married issue is a HUGE problem amongst the Muslim community. But people only want to marry who they think will fit their culture... Now look at Yemen, look at Somalia, look at Syria, look at Libya, look at Darfur Sudan..I bet none of us will ever consider marrying from those war torn places....And don't even talk about polygamy! Even though it's badly need in all those places. Didn't our Nabi SAW warn us about taking care of the orphans and the womenfolk?
Young Akhi, people make marriages expensive. People want to have a good memories of their wedding , people want to show off their so called cheap wealth life style. ...so if people follow the principles which has been layed out and showed by our beloved Rasool Allah ( peace be upon him ), then we should not fall into this category. Alhamdulillahi Rab'il Alameen, I am speaking from experience and I also was able to budget my wedding less than 5k and my Mahr was just £1000. Alhamdulillahi Rab'il Alameen. My siblings which are younger than me they had spent £20k-£27k - that was nearly 16-18 years ago. ( Perhaps you were too by that time. Lol ). Also another common factor is that so many young boys and girls who got married are now currently divorced. Because they can't tolerate each other. Young generations these days do not have the patience to keep the marriages. May Allah SWT bless the young Ummah and young parents. Ameen.

We met in uni (early 20s), my Mehr was whatever he had in his account (6k) and we had the Nikkah and then food, no wedding party (Pakistani/Bengali). Now over 10+ years of marriage (late 30s). Alhamdulillah. The families need to help the couple get jobs and a place to live like the family home, till they get their own home. insha'Allah.
I’m in NYC. My son 15 and want to get married. I pray that Allah makes it so and soon with the right young lady. I was a wild boy I want my children to get it the halal way. Many Muslims out here not down to marry their teens off so inshallah ima have to take him overseas

Turks are the same. I am a turk. If you don’t marry from your own culture. You are talked bad about. Even if the man they marry their daughter to. If he is not practicing. But is Turkish from their tribe. They will willingly give their daughter to them with no problem. But as soon as it’s another turk. Who is religious. On the sunnah. But from a different tribe. Possibly from the suburbs. They will not give them their daughter. Even if he is religious. SubhanAllah. This happens in my community a lot. But when it comes to men or women who aren’t religious. But from the same tribe they will marry them to eachother. Then you see in that marriage. Unhappiness, cheating, no manners or no haya or ghirah. Or you see them they might be living a normal life. But no deen whatsoever. SubhanAllah what a calamity. But when a Turkish man wants to marry a woman who isn’t a turk. But is following the sunnah. Proper niqab and abaya. Wallahi you will see the parents curse their child. Speak such bad things about people who aren’t Turks. They slander them. They say things such as “they are women who cover their faces, but leave their “behinds opened”” basically meaning that they do Zina in secret. SubhanAllah the things which I have heard Turks say about no Turkish women who wear niqab. But then you tell them this is from the sunnah why are you speaking about covered women like that. But when it comes to Turkish women who aren’t covered they say such good things about those people. “Oh she has such good manners, oh she doesn’t go anywhere, oh she doesn’t talk to men, oh she behaves good” but you see that same woman they speak about wearing a tight dress at Turkish weddings where there is music. Alcohol. Free mixing of man and women and dancing. And they say “ oh my daughter is such an Angel”. SubhanAllah how deluded these people are. They traumatize their male kids, beat them, threaten them. Force them into this which they don’t want them to do. Make them shave their beards. And give them a hard time in their life. I am one of those people who experienced and went through this. And I am a first hand witness to the things which goes on in some Turkish communities. Giving dawah to these people is like speaking to a brick wall. You clarify one thing to them. They ignore it and then say “okay but what about this”. SubhanAllah. They beat their kids and call them unworthy. And say if you don’t marry who They tell you. They threaten your life lol. Alhamdulilah not all Turkish parents are like this. Except majority of the ones who don’t practice. They say about Allah things which are disgusting and bad. They cling to their culture more than the deen. May Allah guide the Turkish community. آمين.

Men and women need training on the responsibilities of marriage/ family. Also the Islamic values and the great importance islam places on the bond of marriage/ Family.
Parents need to understand that their sons/daughters have desires even if they are practising Muslims. marriage is not shameful. Marriage is easy. Marriage is what Allah is pleased with Parents please stop aiding shaitan in his plot, wallahi this is the reality.

It really is just easier to watch fahishah online or hook up with a non-Muslim woman than it is to get married in today's day and age. The Prophet SAW helped men get married by offering an iron ring as mahr, and here we are "Muslims" asking for 50k weddings and extravagant mahr's. Muslims are on a downward trajectory to jahannam.
Reading through the comments section... Nothing has changed from the past 20-25 years from our local imam from his pulpit. The Ustadh in his khutbah is mentioned by our local imam khateeb in east London has been saying this for many many years 27 years plus or more. Alhamdulillahi Rab'il Alameen. The community would not rise above their own way of marriage. Young Men and Women in Islam keep yourselves protected from Haram and your success in marriage will come along your path, keep making duas to Allah SWT to find you the right soul mate.
I was once seeking marriage. Although parents make things difficult, even women have uncertainty. They have a long list before the second drama starts with the parents. So I gave up searching. I wasted so much time. If the sister comes my way, I may consider.
This is a problem that is not exclusive to any one culture. Girls in my home country are demanding ridiculous mahr's, absurd wedding costs and for the man to have his own property. It's a problem plaguing the entire ummah. This widespread proliferation of TikTok and Instagram culture has created absurdly unrealistic expectations for women who think that a man should own a house, a nice car and annual luxury vacations by age 30.
This sounds like the Egyptian community! Cairo is full of 30, 40, 50 year old woman that know they will never get married..because the men have to have finished university, bought a apartment, car, pay for the wedding, honeymoon, fill the apartment with furniture, and have a high paying job??!!
They think mahr means great wealth even if less than 10-20% of the males could product it. So that leaves nearly the entire Ummah single! How will we build another generation like this? However, Allah is in control, sadly after we mess up, He will replace us with better Muslims. Just think so many sisters with this entitlement complex are going to die alone, no family, children, etc. I think we need to make more "aggressive khubahs" about exaggerated mahr, and consequences of delayed marriage. For instance, if I pull out facts of an increase of Muslims becoming porn addicts, women getting abortions (sleeping with non Muslim and weak Muslim men), increase in homosexuality, lesbianism, etc. I am aware of reports of married women in Saudi Arabia/etc having sex with her servants, sleeping with other women, etc. Yes! Countries that mimics wealth as in western countries equal the same outcome, social disorder. Finally, I agree with a view someone in Islamic history about the mahr, perhaps you will too after reading this. It sounds like a breath of fresh air. I think he made a good point. I don't necessarily agree that this is only a problem with the Bengali community. My friend is Bengali she's married to a Pakistani, the parents never accepted her as his wife cos she's Bengali, they want him leave her and marry another in Pakistan. Sadly there are prejudices in all community and likewise with the Arabs look down on the Asians in many cases.

With all due respect I've heard these talks from other sheikhs too, but they did not only use one culture or advice people of one ethnicity. So your explanation carries no weight, it doesn't matter whether he attended a Bengali masjid , besides masajids are the house of Allah it shouldn't be restricted to one race alone. Anyway the advice should've been given to all the Muslim ummah. This is a disease of the heart, it's filled with pride and arrogance thinking their race is superior than other’s. We should follow the Qur’an and sunnah the words of Allah and the teachings pf our beloved prophet S.A.W. We should want righteous and pious spouses for ourselves and for our children. Islam came to abolish tribalism and racism but sadly these prejudices still exist in all communities which needs addressing not just making it look like this is solely exclusive to the Bengali community alone, we all know this is not the case. The heading actually will cause more diversity, some may use this as an excuse to attack the Bengalis. If this was a Bengali issue alone then by all means they should be addressed but its not. I'll be honest I feel disappointed with sheikh Abu Taymiyyah, I actually enjoyed listening to his talks, but now I don't think I'll be listening as much.

I think you mentioned the problem already, IF the man has religion and etiquitte then marry your daughter...its impossible to find a man like that these days, more easy to find a man who makes 100k.

We met in uni (early 20s), my Mehr was whatever he had in his account (6k) and we had the Nikkah and then food, no wedding party (Pakistani/Bengali). Now over 10+ years of marriage (late 30s). Alhamdulillah. The families need to help the couple get jobs and a place to live like the family home, till they get their own home. insha'Allah.

Turks are the same. I am a turk. If you don’t marry from your own culture. You are talked bad about. Even if the man they marry their daughter to. If he is not practicing. But is Turkish from their tribe. They will willingly give their daughter to them with no problem. But as soon as it’s another turk. Who is religious. On the sunnah. But from a different tribe. Possibly from the suburbs. They will not give them their daughter. Even if he is religious. SubhanAllah. This happens in my community a lot. But when it comes to men or women who aren’t religious. But from the same tribe they will marry them to eachother. Then you see in that marriage. Unhappiness, cheating, no manners or no haya or ghirah. Or you see them they might be living a normal life. But no deen whatsoever. SubhanAllah what a calamity. But when a Turkish man wants to marry a woman who isn’t a turk. But is following the sunnah. Proper niqab and abaya. Wallahi you will see the parents curse their child. Speak such bad things about people who aren’t Turks. They slander them. They say things such as “they are women who cover their faces, but leave their “behinds opened”” basically meaning that they do Zina in secret. SubhanAllah the things which I have heard Turks say about no Turkish women who wear niqab. But then you tell them this is from the sunnah why are you speaking about covered women like that. But when it comes to Turkish women who aren’t covered they say such good things about those people. “Oh she has such good manners, oh she doesn’t go anywhere, oh she doesn’t talk to men, oh she behaves good” but you see that same woman they speak about wearing a tight dress at Turkish weddings where there is music. Alcohol. Free mixing of man and women and dancing. And they say “ oh my daughter is such an Angel”. SubhanAllah how deluded these people are. They traumatize their male kids, beat them, threaten them. Force them into this which they don’t want them to do. Make them shave their beards. And give them a hard time in their life. I am one of those people who experienced and went through this. And I am a first hand witness to the things which goes on in some Turkish communities. Giving dawah to these people is like speaking to a brick wall. You clarify one thing to them. They ignore it and then say “okay but what about this”. SubhanAllah. They beat their kids and call them unworthy. And say if you don’t marry who They tell you. They threaten your life lol. Alhamdulilah not all Turkish parents are like this. Except majority of the ones who don’t practice. They say about Allah things which are disgusting and bad. They cling to their culture more than the deen. May Allah guide the Turkish community. آمين.
We live in a time of arrogance and fitnah. May Allah SWT guide us all and give us hidaya.

Men and women need training on the responsibilities of marriage/ family. Also the Islamic values and the great importance islam places on the bond of marriage/ Family.

The Prophet SAW helped men get married by offering an iron ring as mahr, and here we are "Muslims" asking for 50k weddings and extravagant mahr's. Muslims are on a downward trajectory to jahannam.

Reading through the comments section... Nothing has changed from the past 20-25 years from our local imam from his pulpit. The Ustadh in his khutbah is mentioned by our local imam khateeb in east London has been saying this for many many years 27 years plus or more. Alhamdulillahi Rab'il Alameen. The community would not rise above their own way of marriage. Young Men and Women in Islam keep yourselves protected from Haram and your success in marriage will come along your path, keep making duas to Allah SWT to find you the right soul mate.

This is a problem that is not exclusive to any one culture. Girls in my home country are demanding ridiculous mahr's, absurd wedding costs and for the man to have his own property. It's a problem plaguing the entire ummah. This widespread proliferation of TikTok and Instagram culture has created absurdly unrealistic expectations for women who think that a man should own a house, a nice car and annual luxury vacations by age 30.
By age 30 your libido starts to decrease marriage should be accomplished in late teens or early to mid twenties when libido is high and Zina is easy

This sounds like the Egyptian community! Cairo is full of 30, 40, 50 year old woman that know they will never get married..because the men have to have finished university, bought a apartment, car, pay for the wedding, honeymoon, fill the apartment with furniture, and have a high paying job??!!
They think mahr means great wealth even if less than 10-20% of the males could product it. So that leaves nearly the entire Ummah single! How will we build another generation like this? However, Allah is in control, sadly after we mess up, He will replace us with better Muslims. Just think so many sisters with this entitlement complex are going to die alone, no family, children, etc. I think we need to make more "aggressive khubahs" about exaggerated mahr, and consequences of delayed marriage. For instance, if I pull out facts of an increase of Muslims becoming porn addicts, women getting abortions (sleeping with non Muslim and weak Muslim men), increase in homosexuality, lesbianism, etc. I am aware of reports of married women in Saudi Arabia/etc having sex with her servants, sleeping with other women, etc. Yes! Countries that mimics wealth as in western countries equal the same outcome, social disorder.
Finally, I agree with a view someone in Islamic history about the mahr, perhaps you will too after reading this. It sounds like a breath of fresh air. I think he made a good point. I would love to have walis read this.

With all due respect I've heard these talks from other sheikhs too, but they did not only use one culture or advice people of one ethnicity.
So your explanation carries no weight, it doesn't matter whether he attended a Bengali masjid , besides masajids are the house of Allah it shouldn't be restricted to one race alone.
Anyway the advice should've been given to all the Muslim ummah. This is a disease of the heart, it's filled with pride and arrogance thinking their race is superior than other’s.
We should follow the Qur’an and sunnah the words of Allah and the teachings pf our beloved prophet S.A.W.
We should want righteous and pious spouses for ourselves and for our children. Islam came to abolish tribalism and racism but sadly these prejudices still exist in all communities which needs addressing not just making it look like this is solely exclusive to the Bengali community alone, we all know this is not the case.
The heading actually will cause more diversity, some may use this as an excuse to attack the Bengalis. If this was a Bengali issue alone then by all means they should be addressed but its not.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The flourishing state of Jerusalem will be when Yathrib is in ruins, the ruined state of Yathrib will be when the great war comes, the outbreak of the great war will be at the conquest of Constantinople and the conquest of Constantinople when the Dajjal (Antichrist) comes forth. He (the Prophet) struck his thigh or his shoulder with his hand and said: This is as true as you are here or as you are sitting (meaning Mu'adh ibn Jabal).
