I realized that in every concert that satriani play he became more satriani and less van halen, I mean, he do an interpretation of van halen songs, which in my opinion all of those interpration is far away from eddie, in terms of groove, clarity, sound that make van halen songs unique

I understand that if a musician plays someone elses song they put their touch to it, but on this tour, I really think Satriani should really just try to be as honest to Eddies version as possible. Satriani is a Great Player, but the whole point if this tour is Van Halen.

I saw Steve Vai playing Van Halen songs on the Eat Em and Smile tour. He still sounded like Steve Vai. And if Eddie Van Halen played Satch Boogie it would still sound like Eddie Van Halen. Sammy has toured with Joe with Chickenfoot and Joe is who he wanted. I am just really happy they are doing this tour.
