Thanks for this video, very useful. About to try it on about 30 windows 😔. Have you got any advice on the amonia mix please? Ratios or something. Thanks.
Hey Philip, the ammonia that I purchased was from a supermarket (not commercial strength) so it was already diluted at '20g/ltr Ammonia', and also contained some soapy additive 'cloudy', So I used it neat (undiluted) in the spray bottle. It's pungent! Especially when airborne so make sure you look after yourself with the right PPE. Regards, Kent
G'day from across the ditch. I'm about to embark on removing the tint on our veranda concertina doors...there's roughly 15 square m's of tint, so a fair bit to come off. So, what do you recommend? Ammonia looked like much more work than using a heat gun? I have a wife who is seriously allergic to ammonia fumes, so even if she would have to move out for a couple of days (which wouldn't be a bad thing...lol...only joking). Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
Hey Beazle, yeah the ammonia is definitely rough on the lungs if not wearing the right mask and filters. So far I’ve done the heat method, and the ammonia method. Next windows I’m going to use my 90mm razor blade scraper to do the lot and see if overall it’s a better option. I think heat and scraping is the way to go👌Let me know how you get on. Kent

After you pull the tint off spray more ammonia on the adhesive and it will easily scrape off!
Well, where were you with that suggestion when I was removing all these tints 😂, that’s gold - I’ll try it👍 thanks, Kent
I will stick my nose in and say to remove the tint left behind. Get a heat gun and warm it it up which might make it peal easier (less scraping)
You’re nose is always welcome Diane, great suggestion👍
That other Kent is a bit of a know-all.
Haha.. isn’t he! And no help at all. Cheers Justin 🤙
