Great video, as always! Was hoping to see the rig a bit more as I personally am not as versed in what each one is. As a retired combat vet I haven’t fished since’98. So I’m getting back at it now. I fish the Pigeon in Canton every day, but haven’t ventured out yet. Still trying to figure everything out.

What have you been throwing down there at the river? There’s some good smallmouth in the pigeon especially if you know where to target them. Also, are you fishing from the bank, wading, or kayaking? If you’re on Facebook join the WNC smallmouth club. There’s a lot of good information on there about WNC smallmouth fishing and is a very good resource to have. I’m in the group if you do join! You can send me a message on there and also thank you for your service!

@@RiverRatProductions I just up from the paper mill. I’ve thrown everything…😜. I just need to keep casting and getting out there. The usual way I’ve been fishing, at least for the present, is wading and bank fishing. The kayak has wheels arriving today, hopefully 🤞🏼, then Lake Junaluska, Fontana and more are on the list.
I’m just trying not to end up a spoiled mess on my recliner!! Move, smile…and maybe catch a fish or two along the way! Again, hopefully 🤞🏼. You ever find yourself in the area, come throw a line!

Some great choices! Wacky rig is always my go to bait this time of year.

The wacky rig is hands down my favorite finesse technique for shallow bass! Thank you for watching I really appreciate it!

Those are great choices. I prefer Neko rigging over the wacky rig. But I also try to make it look like a bluegill. I use Mega 360 to find the bluegill beds. I target the edges of the bed clusters. The dropshot is my bread and butter rig. I use it year round. I caught 35 bass over 10lbs. More than half of the 35 was caught on dropshot rig. Most anglers in Western North Carolina hate fishing the dropshot rig. I've talked to many people over the years at the dock. I would take a couple of photos of me and the fish. The first question they ask what did you catch it on. As soon as I say dropshot, they go oh. Okay. Dropshot is the most versatile lure setup an angler could have. Keep up the good work on your channel. I'm hoping to crank out some videos this fall. Hope to see you on the water.

I use the Neko rig a decent amount but I mainly throw the wacky just because of how effective it is. I love using the drop shot I’ve caught some nice fish fishing finesse rigs. The drop shot and the Ned rig probably catch the most fish for me. Thank you for watching I really appreciate it! I’ll definitely have to check out some of your videos once you post some this fall

Yooooo thank you so much especially since you’re in western North Carolina I’ve been trying to find people who are local so I can use their lures as a center point
