You make my favorite videos on RUclips. I started watching years ago when I was still in school. Your videos were my first exposure to hand tool woodworking and joinery. Now I have the means to have a small shop and Ive been practicing my joinery and quickly falling in love with the craft. Thanks for making the videos you do. Liam
I'm not sure I could say enough good things about Andy or the work he did on this sword case. It's really special to have a man like Andy build something that memorializes swords that were my fathers. Thanks Andy for all you did here. This is something that my family will treasure for generations to come.
Nice work! Looks like a fun project because it takes you away from the more common builds. Please thank Officer Hoos for his service to our country. Thanks Andy.
Very, very nice display case. Dove tailed sides gave it a nice, “made by a skilled craftsman” touch. I make display cases too, mine are top, bottom and sides all glass, back is generally cloth, frames are oak or cherry. Nice job. Jack in Missouri
Always wanted to do woodworking but never got started doing it. Couldn't afford it was raising 3 kids myself. Working 3 job's at times to support them. Omg you are Amazing at it. My middle daughter's boyfriend's Dad is a woodworker he has built beautiful furniture he has added onto his house and has everything in there he truly is as talented as you are. They also widdle wood hopefully that's the way it's spelled. I just found your channel from your friend. Looking forward to watching what all you make.
Great build, however the sword on top, the one with the black grip is actually an Army Officers saber. My brother-in-law, his daughter and son-in-law are all West Point graduates and this is the sword they each got upon their commission. Not taking anything away from ;your awesome build, just passing on some information to a great wood worker.
That's a keen eye. That top sword is actually from Culver Military Academy. It was something that my Dad was very proud of and it laid the groundwork for him to go on to pursue a military career.
I am setting here watching your video and cracking up because earlier today in my woodshop I was cutting dovetails for a drawer in the side table I am making and did the same thing as you did during assembly and basically said the same thing to myself...."how many times have you made dovetails you dumb *ss, and you still got it wrong! Funny stuff. By the way thanks for the tips on the piston fit drawers when you did the dresser. I followed your guidance and my drawer has the perfect piston fit...….after I corrected my dumbass glue up on the dovetails. :)
Hey Andy, Could you tell me the brand of low angle jack plane you use?? Im getting ready too buy one Im just curious what your thoughts areThanks Scott
FMT Mortising jib, wide belt sander, X-Carve.......yet you hand cut the dovetails instead of using a Leigh jig. Not sure I get that. Nonetheless, the piece is outstanding.
sheath : knife :: sword : scabbard I would translate sheath to Latin but then people would think I have a dirty mouth. Prudes took words that meant other things in Latin and applied them so as to not offend those with offensively delicate sensibilities.
I usually really love your videos and so far enjoyed watching every single one of them. This one felt a bit sloppy, as if you didn´t really have the time and also didnt care about it that much. The end result is great, but the process didn´t feel as calm and satisfying as it usually does.. Just a bit of feedback, thanks as always for your content!

“Other cool tools...” Nicely done, Andy.
Beautiful. Still have my Navy sword. It’s 40 years old. Retired 30 year Navy. Love your work.
Thank you for your service. Love Navy!!

This is the piece that I have been meaning to make for my dad's old shotgun. Thanks for inspiring me to get it done.
That’s a beautiful cabinet Andy . Wow, Well done !
And from another Navy man I know he’s going to love it !
Beautiful presentation case for his swords. Those dovetails look great and that offset one is super nice. Learned something new today. Thank you
Nice work! I prefer the voice over. Thanks. You’re my favorite builder!
Beautiful case, Andy, and a fitting display tribute.
Beautiful craftsmanship Andy. Finished case is amazing with the swords in it. Mad respect!
What a beautiful job for a great tribute

My great-grandfather's sword hangs in our family ranch. Head Commander at A&M. Last (horse) calvary march of the US Army. Treasured heirloom!

Awesome build
Am I the only one who thought to myself "and what's the problem with that?" When he said it would be a 40 min video ?
No.
I feel robbed.
Beafutiful case and Andy keep up the great work
Looks awesome Andy.
hello Andy, great job as always 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Beautiful case
WOW, nice job.
RESPECT FROM PAKISTAN 🇵🇰
HARDLY WORKS 😍❤️
Just wanted to say I prefer the videos with commentary.
Andy's channel would certainly be approved by Ron Swanson

You should make a video on a smaller version of this like for small hatchets/tomohawks and throwing knives
Looks great.
Amazing work, Andy.
Is there any glass available that would show less reflections?
It's like a bridal joint
Beautiful
Very nice
Very nice!
Very nice. Maybe the swords would be better showcased if the backdrop would be lined with some dark green or black felt material.
Outstanding
Are pins that narrow any less structural than a thicker pin on the dovetail joint?
"scabbard" i believe for swords
Depends. If the vessel is made of leather only then its a sheath. But if it has a stiff lining incasing the blade then its a scabbard.
very nice !
Your my hero man !!
Hey Andy, Could you tell me the brand of low angle jack plane you use?? Im getting ready too buy one Im just curious what your thoughts areThanks Scott
Is there any mechanical reason why I always see thin pins in hand cut dovetails, or is it just aesthetic choice?
Good question...Strictly aesthetic
Generally hand cut dovetails are cut that way because you can’t do it with a jig, so thin pins indicates they’re cut by hand.
Hey if possible would love to see you make a single piece cricket bat plz
Sir your super workr I a m foloing your videos
The white handle is definitely a navy officer sword but the black handle is an Army or air force officer pattern
It is an Army Officers sword.
It looks like a stepped bridle joint?
It would be cool if you and the wood whispered did some videos together
Awesome. Where do you buy your wood from?
FMT Mortising jib, wide belt sander, X-Carve.......yet you hand cut the dovetails instead of using a Leigh jig. Not sure I get that.

nicely
She's a beaut.

Thats not how you pronounce Tage at all. Nice display case though.
