Extension cords are considered for "temporary (90 day max)" electrical installations. A camera fastened to the wall and having a wire penetrating into the house from it, creates a sense of a permanent installation and may be against local electrical code. It may even slow down the sale of the home or business because of the electrical fire code infraction. 2. The outlet that was shown in the video had illegal wiring outside of the junction box.. That screen shot alone is incriminating.. Good luck!!
Great point! I install Alarm.com V-723’s all the time, and NEVER use an extension cord! That’s just begging for trouble. I will always properly splice the power cord that comes with the camera, using proper gauged wiring with suitable wire nut connectors, for proper connections, should the nearest power outlet be further away than the 20 feet or so of power cord wire that comes with the camera..
@@killadocg23 yes but it took me along time to setup. It’s a lot harder to setup then what it should be. I had to google “adcsetup” then clicked on the alarm com website. You should see the V721 setup. Then I just followed the instructions.
