Great to see the Coalinga banner flying. What a wonderful event with a great mix of kites against a perfect blue sky. I enjoyed your introduction to some of the kiting personalities it made the video even more interesting.
+Kite flying DownUnder.... Carl Gillard I am happy to get to know more of the kite flying community by name. I believe that introducing other kite flyers in the future will be an ongoing part of my theme.
A great selection of Kites here, And a well made video. It was a nice of you to show us some of the people involved. Also nice to see the spinsocks I made getting some air through them. It looks like you all had a good time.
Looks like another great event, Glenn. I always cringe a little when I see the big bols scraping the sand like that. It's not called sandpaper for nuthin,' BFN!
On my future to do list is to lift a bol with a kite and observe the effect. In Asia, it is fat more common to see one or more people hand holding bols instead of anchoring them in place.
@@PanyingPilot Hey, Glenn. Seems to me, bols are intended to be line laundry. As an aside, I made the mistake of visiting Brasington's website last night. Talk about sticker shock, more like sticker electrocution! I keep forgetting that some people have seemingly unlimited resources.
Seal Beach killed their own kite festival. Small minded civic leaders made stupid conditions like no music. Local organizers killed it because they pressed sponsors for too much support. Southern California is very congested. Paid, timed parking, expensive hotels and food, people encroaching on kiteflyers safety areas makes attending a hardship. Disneyland is worse, LOL.
@@PanyingPilot wow I did not know about that that's a bummer will I guess keep flying with or without the kite festival. Are u going the one in Berkeley.
I only like the show kites anyway, even though my first kite was a stunter, I didn't really get "hooked" until I bought my first octopus. Then banner tails became an obsession. I have to stop buying kites. Do you think acupuncture would work?
Excellent video.
The colour of the kites is fabulous!
Hey, thanks. Kite flyers do put on a great show, and better still it's free!

+glenn mitchell Great idea.
Very nice Glenn and Cherie. Had a great time flying with you again.
+Nick Taylor We have got to lay hands on one of those drones...
@@PanyingPilot What were you saying about drones?
@@nicksgarage2 Idle talk Nick, I dont think I'll be getting a drone any time soon.
What a lovely display. Thanks for sharing Glenn n all the best...

@@richarddarlington1139 Boutique kites, for sure. I actually like to fly my stuff. Some of the high priced stuff is just too dear.
@@PanyingPilot
"Boutique kites?"
That's a new one on me.
This is what happens when you give a child's toy to an adult.
Things tend to get out of hand.
Clearly a great event!
+Jim Nicholls We would have enjoyed an infusion of several of the new designs you, Carl and Tony have. BTW, your latest video was beautiful to watch.
+glenn mitchell Thanks, Glenn. The important thing, as you mentioned in this video, is to have fun - that's what it's all about!
At 04:44 I saw a kite called the Magnificent Premier Killip 90 Foil & I always thought it was, The Promo Edition!
Right on both counts. It's a very airworthy kite.
Enjoyed seeing that stack.
Yes, and the Kites were nice too!
Super video!Thank you for sharing...
Perhaps someday we will find you on our beaches sharing the love of Kites.
We need more kite festival in seal beach

The Teddy Bear Kite flies well without the pilot kite? Before I always saw videos of the Teddy Bear Kite under the pilot.
the beauty of RUclips. We all learn.

Provided you can meet your responsibilities, there is no reason not to fly Kites. Nothing wrong with bringing a measure of joy into a troubled world.
