Because she's a functional addict. Mostly likely she wasn't trying to get obliterated, the drugs were to get her to 0, or balanced, not to 100 and 'bing bing bang gone'. My drug use was to numb me and 'help' me function. It's not easy to maintain, but when you are battling mental illness you use drugs to gain control as opposed to those who use to lose it. Of course eventually the drugs are what take control, but at first, for a time, they can be really helpful. I'm pretty sure Angelina was more into heroin than coke. What you may be seeing is a speedball in action. This is all just bullshit pontification tho.
