Similar to every comment, this is by far the easiest, quickest and cheapest way to make your microphone sound better! It still has that "RAW" feel but has been cleaned and removed the major issues. What I look forward now is the tutorial on how to setup those "Peaking Filter" and an in-depth on the RoughRider Compressor. Thanks a lot for this!
I did this by myself without really being aware of this specific tutorial, only found when checking if a similar one exists before making a tutorial. thank you for helping people
@@pcislocked Well yes, Reafir makes a really good job cancelling audio, but as consequence makes the audio sound with less quality. I've tried this two filters, and I liked more RNNoise for that thing, the quality.
@@I_Grey_I did the same actually, i use the reaper effects for the gate only, I use rnnooise for the filter and roughrider as compressor. it's noise filter, gate and compressor in order.
@@pcislocked I use RNoise because of the static/electricity noise of my USB mic. I realized that rnoise automatically deactivates when talking, like noise supresion comes from 99% to 10%, that why I thought about use ReaFir but aghhhh the crappy sound makes me doubt. Have you a recommendation for this problem?
I'd like to point out that, in the case of my microphone, which is most absolutely NOT Stereo, changing the top right "channel configuration" from "From device (Stereo)" to "Mono" reduced the shown CPU usage in half while keeping exactly the same quality. Thanks for the video!
My audio card doesn't allow a mono configuration for some reason so what I did: new channel C=0.5R+0.5L select channel C apply RNNoise-mono on channel C copy channel C on R and L R=C L=C
Thank you! Even though you know nothing about microphones, this is a really easy to follow tutorial. Just as good of results as RTX voice but with significantly less issues!
i literally love you. i've always been so annoyed at the hissing my mic did and this magically took it away. my hero forever. 1000 blessings on your family
it feels like Benedict Cumberbatch is guiding me through during setting up the sound for my laptop lol. anyways, thanks a lot for the guide! it was really clear and helpful. keep doing good things like this :)
yep, this is by far the most simple tutorial and the quickest way to make your mic sound better... it's been to long i've feed up with my friends telling me to mute my mic whenever i watch a video or a movie, the sound from it leaking through my mic :"D iknow it's not perfect but that's all i needed, thx
Bro u saved me so much money and work!!! It literally sounds like a different mic now. It went from a garbage 60$ dollar mic to a 1000$ studio mic. Thank you so much!
Awesome Tutorial, works great in removing the "Hisss" or White noise effect, that the affordable UGreen USB2.0 External Stereo Sound Adapter brings with it :)
Everyone else is singing their praises so I guess I'll join in. Works perfectly, surprising that it replaces your microphone's input entirely so there's no need to swap your input source in every program. Noise filtering isn't perfect compared to something like RTX Voice, but that's understandable. Unlike RTX voice rnnoise is also available on Linux and I would certainly much prefer using the same program on both systems. Great tutorial!
Ignore the haters! I perfected the audio in OBS as it had RNNoise suppression. But I was struggling to get a good recording in Audacity. Noise suppression can't bring down all the noises in Audacity. But in OBS RNNoise did a good job. Even car honking was removed with RNNoise in OBS so I was looking for adding that same filter or effect to all my recordings in audacity. Now, the noise is removed from my mic not only for audacity but all my applications. Thank you.. +1 Subscriber. Check your instructions in my next production if you wish! Now I have to wait for a car or motorcycle to pass by honking to test the Equalizer APO RNNoise test. Wish me luck.
I only get the option for two channels for my mic in windows sound settings, I must have watched 8 videos on APO and many hours and I can't get it to work, made extra hard because the software provides no way to actually hear what the plugins are doing which I find very weird. If you tick the "listen" option in sound options are the plugins audible through it?
Unfortunately, the developer of Rough Rider 3 has stopped supporting VST plugins, now only supports VST3 which Equalizer APO does not support, and it does not allow downloading through official means, only a very outdated version, Rough Rider 2 which does not have the same power as 3. The developer seems to have a resentment towards Equalizer APO by the message displayed on the software's page. What I did was using the Wayback Machine service to get the old file on a July 2023 AudioDamage website snapshot since I couldn't find the old RR3 version anywhere. The version compatible with Equalizer APO is 3.1.0, Audio Damage only provides version 3.2.0 onwards.
@@FloyanTTVGlad it worked for you too! For old tutorials to work flawlessly we just need the software versions of the time the tutorial was first posted.
Thank you very much. Second time checking this video out since I had to format my pc and I could remember for the life of mine what I was using to fix my mic. xD
When I download the Zip file from Github I can't find the folder. How did you make it work? I've done everything else except be able to get that dll file
As some of the comments have mentioned already, this has to be the most detailed explanation on how to run the VST Plug-in for APO Equalizer. I've watched a lot of videos here on youtube and no one has explained it in as much detail as you did. Like the crashing app for the no valid interface. Wow!!!. I'm just ecstatic that I got this to finally work in my laptop. At least for Windows 10. I'm going to share this to my friends and colleagues. I haven't even used the 3rd software and it already made a huge difference. Could this work in Windows 11 too? Also, can you please do a similar step by step video on how to remove the buzzing ground noise? They say it has to do with electricity grounding of some sort. I'm not quite knowledgeable about electric circuits. The buzzing noise can still be heard in my sample audio recording using a Logitech H151. But in my JBL C150SI earphones, noise cancellation is quite good now. Thank you for this.
To those using this. Please when you're modifying or configuring something, do select your mic on the device and make sure to not apply it on your speakers or headphones
superb tutorial man. i just bought maono a04 mic. could you make a video or suggest me some settings for obs and discord as well? i would like use this mic for streaming and general talk in discord.
what to do if at 10:07 when putting the vst plugin in and then clicking okay it says this The library is not readable by the audio service. Change the file permissions or copy the file to the VSTPlugins directory.
The noise suppression itself works nice, cuz my laptop makes weird sounds constantly, but I have a higher voice and when I cheer or anything it REALLY cuts into it? And that's just with the noise suppression and I don't know how to edit it since it doesn't have a control panel without crashing?
Why does suddenly my headphone and speaker get's corrupted(almost) I mean they don't sound plain, always running around from low to high, high to low when I turn on rnnoise vst plug-in? I've been using this same set-up for almost a year and I never had this before only today. It is only me? This is really bugging me.
hey i know im late but, i couldnt manage to install rough rider 3 dll. when i try to install i just get the .vst3 file which isnt compitable with equalizerapo. anyone able to fix this?
So I have tried several times doing everything here as shown but my graph at the bottom does not change when they are turned on and it simply does not work. Any suggestions? Thanks!
The threshold doesn't work for me, the second option VAD grace does nothing and the third retroactive seems to overlay my voice slightly delayed with the new version. Why?
Im thankfull for showing that tool but pls next time make your voice to mono sound. Its really irritating hearing some noices randomly switching the ear.
HELP!! The noise cancelling also noise cancels my desktop audio ( for example: i play a song in spotify, it gets noice cancelled to...) anyone know a fix?
I'm pretty sure that it won't work just like that. The noise suppression plugin let's you actually set a threshold, which is 0 by default. This means it won't remove any noise. I just realized that I was wrong and the default is 50%. So never mind this comment.
