@@gravity00x It's fine, it's actually been out for a long time in the AI community, it's slowly getting known more in the mixing/mastering community now which is good. GOYO is an amazing plugin. I grabbed it during the first week in which it was announced and immediately used it on an audiobook project I was working on where the recording conditions were less than ideal. The effect was damn near magical. A couple of notes to to piggyback Michael's warnings; if the noise is too bad/strong to handle with one instance of GOYO without ruining the track, using a second instance works very well. Additionally, I've discovered that I can crank Ambience down to zero, put a pinch of room reverb onto the vocal, and it sounds like it should.
You got there really early. I'll have to try stacking 2 instances in series like you suggest. It sounds like a great idea. I love that reverb trick. I've done that myself when using RX.
Yes, that's the concept of always adding early reflections when mixing music (as well). The brain is used to always 'identify' early reflections with a sound source, without them the brain will be confused.
I really appreciate the added information and discussion of the ethics of AI. Your videos are consistently top notch and I appreciate all the knowledge you've shared with so many people.
AI is very usefull indeed, but it's in the hands of very evil groups of 'people' who do not have the best interest at heart for humanity (transhumanism). So I get what you mean by your closing words.
I graduated spring of 2023, but during my last semester I did a deep dive into researching how artificial intelligence (and their retrospective tools) can be utilized to support an efficient creative workflow while still maintaining that important "human experience" to "human experience" relationship between an artist and an audience. I came to the conclusion that such implementation is possible but difficult. I would love to hear your thoughts regarding AI and its uses in the music industry specifically. Could be a really fun conversation or video to have!
part of this discussion will have to center around how we define the "human experience" element. there is a strong argument for "real" human experience being face to face with no medium, but that would call into question all recorded media. then, when it comes to AI as a tool, there is this feeling of it being "cheating" which it seems to me is often implied but maybe unspoken in artistic communities. what makes using a specific tool cheating? is it the perceived skill:output ratio of that tool? Why is an EQ tool not cheating? I dont know how the circuitry works inside it, the device does the EQ for me, i just have to learn its abstracted interface and adjust sliders and knobs. Further, its reasonable to say any tool, AI included, is an extension of the human body and brain. It was created by the human brain, and is therefore not a mysterious external power disconnected from human experience, in that sense. It IS human experience, the natural progression of human experience, but it makes us uncomfortable because we say, well what about ME, the artist! Well, maybe ME wasnt so important after all, its music thats important, music itself is the shared human experience and the artist is the tool, and tools are interchangeable. Its just a fact that we care about the house not the hammers that built it at the end of the day. The same is true for the architect. Its the impact on architecture as a whole, not the architect themselves that matters. /terrible essay
AI is BAD. Even if many people don't get it now but they will eventually, unless the whole world gets to corrupted by AI to care about human imperfections. But if that happens you will know because everything natural will be in a much worse state than it is now. Noise is more important than most people realize. The clinical perfection of pop music or electronic music (including overuse of pitch correction) is comparable to what AI will do to every art form, but it will be many times worse.

This has been my secret power tool for soo many podcast episodes over the last months. Thanks for mentioning the ToS and generally the field of Supertone Inc, as a company. Might be worth checking updates in ToS every now and then.
Thanks for this. I’d also like to see it used in an environment where background noise could vary, versus constant.. such as a pan being dropped, a doorbell ring, kids yelling, etc. Anything that is not just a constant sound.
This is great! A couple questions: did you feel like the terms and conditions were something abnormal or beyond what most DAWs and plug-ins would do? I was just wondering why the special note on that in this instance. Also, I would love to hear what you think about Adobe Audition's native denoising capabilities, versus say Izotope RX, versus Audacity, versus this GOYO app, versus...whatever else! I'm currently working on an audio that had some electrical interference introduced into it at certain points (I think someone had a cellphone with blue tooth enabled next to a field recorder, and it introduced some junk into the recording...), and nothing seems to be working to get it out! Haven't tried the GOYO yet, wanted to ask you why the disclaimer about their data collection. I usually am able to use either Audition's native tools, RX, or Audacity to remove noise, depending on the situation. (They all work well for AC, and the room where we record classes is untreated with tile floors, so de-reverbing is helpful too. Audition is great for isolating specific frequencies and removing them, especially when it's outside the range of the person's voice. But this noise is periodic, not consistent, and just seems to defy noise removal! Suggestions appreciated!) Also, just so you know, you're my first go-to for anything audio related, and I deeply appreciate your videos, your insights, and your care! Thank you!
Thank you for the comment and questions. Firstly, I don’t think the terms and conditions are particularly unusual for an AI plugin. I mentioned it and will continue to do so moving forward because many people know there is a “catch” when it comes to free plugins or software. It’s really just me trying to be transparent and honest with people who are completely new to software downloads. Regarding the performance of the plugin, I think it is often significantly better than RX and other built in de noisers in DAWs and video editors. I’m a huge supporter of using the in built tools and not relying on 3rd party plugins but this one just blew me away. It has limitations and sometimes performs poorly on sources but for some periodic electrical noise I think it will work well. I also know the frustration you are dealing with. I upgraded to a mixpre recorder because there is so much radio/wifi/phone interference where I live. The mix pre with shielded cables seems to work really well but it does come at a cost. If GOYO solves your problem or fails to make it any better please let us know in a comment!
the supertone, the creators of GOYO, which means tranquility/silence in Korean, is funded by HYBE massssssssiiively. supertone is a team of mad scientists and engineers in South Korea, and they're funded and backed by one of the most influencial kpop production company in this era, the makers of BTS. so it can only be amazing.
I can't believe I found out about it in a video is only 1000 views...it's just brilliant and I'm using it to clean up lots of GoPro footage too. It does sound bad when pushed too far but almost every plugin does. I will say that you can get much better results from some of the paid plugins, but I think spending $399+ on a plugin is just ridiculous.
Great sounding plug, and an actual alternative to Clarity VX (always good to have Waves alternatives). I very much doubt it will continue to be free beyond the beta version. The whole point of a machine learning beta (as you point out) is to teach the algorithm on a broad sample of real world data. My prediction is that the minute they go to version 1.0 it will be a paid product. I don't object to that, and if they are smart they will offer a highly discounted license to everyone who has been beta testing and providing the data to feed their algorithm.
Any alternative to Waves is always a good things! I think your perspective is probably correct although I really do hope they keep a free version. Offering a big discount to beta testers (audio contributors…) would be a good business move for them I think.
this plugin is unbelievably brilliant and for the first time in my 45 years as a musician and vocalist I can now sing in a room with speakers on and remove the backing track and reverb and make my vocal sound like a studio recording .. utterly superb
Thanks for sharing!! Been looking for one as I havent found a treated room around here and i cant treat mine😅 Just one question, how effective is this with instruments, for example, drums or an old keyboard which i cant directly record into my daw?
I filmed this but didn't include it in the video because (as much as I love Davinci resolve!) it did a terrible job on my voice by comparison and seemed like I was overly criticising them. In short, there is a night and day difference, especially in the dereverb. I really like what Black Magic are doing as a company so didn't want to seem overly harsh on their included tools.
Great plugin. For constant noises (like static noises and things like that), I always use ReaFIR. The substract mode that creates the freq profile and removes it from your recording works perfect in those cases. This plugin will allow you to do that on a lot of other types of noises. Pretty cool
Thank you for the heads-up. Just tried this plugin on some location footage. The wind noise was so intrusive, I was convinces we'd need to scrap it. The Goyo delivered usable audio in seconds.
Not any specific content but I can certainly help you figure out how to make the most of your current setup and suggest things which might improve or change between recording at home vs a "pro" studio. I'm happy to answer your questions here, on Instagram or our community Discord. All are linked in the video description.
Dude. THANK YOU for this. I just moved into an apartment and was dismayed to find 7 outdoor AC units just outside the window of the room I intended to record vocals in. This is a life saver.
Beta for this plugin has ended and they renamed it Supertone Clear. When it releases it will be $99. Anyone who had the beta version will be able to get it for $29.
Also, remember you can automate the settings. I'm restoring this old, old four track cassette recording of an audio play. It have the settings adjust depending on areas that are more problematic, or when the volume gets too low and such.
Thank you very much for posting this! I've never tried automating anything before, I always just apply the reduction wholesale, but I was in a real scrape with the audio I was trying to clean up and it is a life-saver to be able to really crank the ambience down just on the really problematic parts. And I wouldn't have even know what automating was without Michael's mastering videos, so - thank you guys!

I will pass on this plugin. #2. My DAW studio computer is Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. This plugin is not compatible with my OS. I do not have a reason to change my OS at this time. I will pass on this plugin. Thank you for a great video. Keep up the great work.
I see you’re new to the channel, welcome! Although this plugin isn’t suitable for you, please do check out some of my other videos for free and useful plugins that might be better for you.
Thank you for presenting this as the first step in a de-noise chain involving other de-noising plugins. It has never occurred to me that it can help make the job of more surgical plugins easier. I almost uninstalled this because it sounded like a "fluctuating noise gate" BUT when I tried using it like how you used it (with a second plugin) it made the work of the other plugin EASIER whilst retaining details vs just using one de-noise VST exclusively. Thanks for bringing up the TERMS and CONDITIONS, I didn't know the data part. Because you mentioned that, I checked the exe file on virus total's website--- there are a couple of surprising results on the plugin's behavior.
Whenever I see the abreviation AI I either leave the video or if I have to carry on I forget I ever saw it as it just winds me up. It's just SOFTWARE! Get over yourselves everbody and STOP pretending your selling sonething mysterious and magical just because you mention AI! 😠
Yes I also dislike AI beijg used as a buzzword and much prefer “machine learning”. However, this plugin does use “AI”/“Machine Learning” so I don’t feel that it is misleading.
This plugin will save me literally hundreds of hours of work. I do post production mixes of live show recordings and trying to get cymbals out of a vocal track is basically impossible. I downloaded this and tried it out on the one I'm currently working on and it did what I've been trying to do manually to no success for the past two hours.
We stay around a whole’lotta variety of noises. I don’t usually use noise reduction because for one I don’t know how to really. I mean I use the one dat comes with meye Mixcraft Pro Studio 9 but using to much I knowtis the change of meye vocals which I don’t like. I like meye vocals to sound natural as possible. So ur video popped up yesterday (I watch a lot of ur videos for FL Studio) and I was curious and watched it. This is the BEST SIMPLE noise reduction, PERIOD! I had to go try it right away. I open up meye studio and hit record, while it was raining on our tent pretty hard. The rain was very loud in the vocals. I turnt the 1st knob all the way to the left. I hard no rain. Freaking AWESOME!!! The traffic, trains, plans, animals, rain, etc. I had to keep doing takes to git the cleanest one to use. For the longest I’ve been doing a lot of dodging and waiting just to record a good enough take. Thank U for this!
I’m so happy for you! I used to have the same situation when I lived in a city. I was always waiting for a gap in the noise to start recording. Videos took me ages to film and it was so frustrating. To know that it was all unnecessary stress!
We all know it is not free anymore but trust me guys. it is worth the 70 dollar. i had the free beta and just bought it since i liked it so much and it is so much better. they cleared some bugs and made it much better with less artifacts. so 100p worth it
Warning: Its not free forever! from mail: " Today, we’re excited to announce the release of Supertone Voice Clarity, our official product replacing Goyo... Supertone Voice Clarity will be available for purchase starting early October for $99. "
This is the first time i've been amazed by a noise reduction plugin! it keeps the voice somewhat untouched ( obviously you lose some frequencies but doesn't sound as robotic as clarity does ). I'll defenitly give this a go on some asmr projects

Suggestions appreciated!)
Also, just so you know, you're my first go-to for anything audio related, and I deeply appreciate your videos, your insights, and your care!
This is actually competitive with the paid plugins! Very simple interface and if you need that “recording booth” sound, this is actually Gold!
@@inthemixpeace be upon you, thank you , can it work offline
This will also be a paid plugin, it's a time for monetisation. You can use it until 31 October, after that it will run as Voice Clarity for $99.
"Unfortunately, this plugin is not free but costs around 30 EUR, and only the beta phase is free."
Solo, and bounce down room ambience if the location guy didnt get the tone..... Brilliant..
But FL has the EDITION which has more option...
I love using Edison but the denoiser is simply awful by comparison as it needs a static/constant noise source.
Bertom denoiser is pretty good as well
The plugin is no longer free, but it is still simple to use and does a great job.
this plugin is unbelievably brilliant and for the first time in my 45 years as a musician and vocalist I can now sing in a room with speakers on and remove the backing track and reverb and make my vocal sound like a studio recording .. utterly superb
Thanks for sharing!! Been looking for one as I havent found a treated room around here and i cant treat mine😅
Just one question, how effective is this with instruments, for example, drums or an old keyboard which i cant directly record into my daw?
Can you Try this against the tools in the Free version of DaVinci Resolve and see how they compare, contrast, maybe complement each other.
Great discovery! Thank you for sharing
This plugin is no longer free. As of 10/2/2023 it is officially priced at $99.
Great plugin. For constant noises (like static noises and things like that), I always use ReaFIR. The substract mode that creates the freq profile and removes it from your recording works perfect in those cases. This plugin will allow you to do that on a lot of other types of noises. Pretty cool
Its no longer free
This why I follow Michael and even after many years he still care for his community. Love this channel ♥
Thank you for your awesome content as always!
Thank you so much, great content and stroll through interesting observations.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Ten człowiek mnie zadziwia. Gada tyle słów, jak z mojej głowy, że chyba jeszcze tego nigdy nie spotkałem. Fantastyczna zgodność po prostu. 😳
Can we get more of Michael in the outside world?
Sure!
@@inthemix yay!
Thank you for the heads-up. Just tried this plugin on some location footage. The wind noise was so intrusive, I was convinces we'd need to scrap it. The Goyo delivered usable audio in seconds.
I'm so happy it worked for you. I would recommend exporting the processed audio and then removing the plugin to free up CPU :)
How do I install it for davinci?
Do you have any content on sound quality difference between pro studio and home studio?
Help out..
Thanks for the advice! I haven’t tried automating GOYO but it’s good to know that it doesn’t cause issues. Thanks!
Sadly this is not free anymore. :(
As a musician and a video editor this is very useful to me! Thank you as always! This is the best audio production channel on youtube.
Thank you for the great video. #1. My studio DAW computer is never connected to the internet (and it never will be). The GOYO plugin requires an internet connection to operate.
Could you explain the surprising results? I do not have the understanding to fully grasp, what you're talking about
Great news, thanks so much, I'm a video editor and looking for this
I'm feeling proud to subscribe to your channel ❤❤❤
It sounds really good, but forcing me to accept their data collection
to use it takes it from nice to garbage-can in a microsecond. Too bad.
Thanks for turning us on to this!
It was just a beta for a now-released commercial product called Supertone Clear.
It's now out of Beta and $69 until the end of the year, at which point it'll go up to the full retail price of $99
Just played with this plugin a bit and its FANTASTIC... thanks so much for sharing.
RX is not suitable for removing other noise other than clicks, etc. I separated stems and couldn't get rid of other artifacts.
Where is your accent from? You sound scottish with an english and american accent lol
Looks like this is no longer in BETA and is now under the name SuperTone Clear. Still probably worth it. Haven't purchased yet.
This plugin will save me literally hundreds of hours of work. I do post production mixes of live show recordings and trying to get cymbals out of a vocal track is basically impossible. I downloaded this and tried it out on the one I'm currently working on and it did what I've been trying to do manually to no success for the past two hours.
I'm proud of this Korean plug-in
thanks for the video- i downloaded it but can't make it work/find it in FCPX- any tips?? thanks again
Very active people here
Noise is my greatest problem thank you
More people should give advice about terms and conditions and AI! Good video:)
I have learnt a lot from u sir.
99 bucks is a lot
Thx buddy, this is brutal
Tried it myself singing + fan + TV + guitar, using my phone in my living room and it worked so well.
As always very useful video!! and the video editing is amazing!
You should actually collab with @VenusTheory about that AI voice topic you mentioned at the end... Would be so cool to have you two in one video! :)
"GOYO" means "calm" in Korean. Who would have given that name?
The team who makes it are Korean as far as I know. I think it’s a great name :)
excuse me WTF? i needed this for AGES
This will be very useful. Thank you!
Results are Unbelievable 😭😭😭and I respect the honest about the T&c's💯🤞🏽
We all know it is not free anymore but trust me guys. it is worth the 70 dollar. i had the free beta and just bought it since i liked it so much and it is so much better. they cleared some bugs and made it much better with less artifacts. so 100p worth it
This guy shits all over the comments convincing to buy. Clearly coming from the company and will deny it. Shady. Be careful.
I love your manner and delivery. Always helpful and insightful. 👍
Thanks!
Amazing! I wonder how it compares to the Clarity DeReverb and Waves NS1 noise suppressor plugins
Warning: Its not free forever!
from mail:
" Today, we’re excited to announce the release of Supertone Voice Clarity, our official product replacing Goyo... Supertone Voice Clarity will be available for purchase starting early October for $99. "
Early
Thanks for being here :)
It's really amazing, but boy is it CPU heavy. My advice is bounce the audio straight after you've used the plugin and then remove it from the project
this man deserves way more views and money
This is the first time i've been amazed by a noise reduction plugin! it keeps the voice somewhat untouched ( obviously you lose some frequencies but doesn't sound as robotic as clarity does ). I'll defenitly give this a go on some asmr projects
I 'm experiencing some latency on the track I have this goyo on, anyone else having this problem?
Have you tried the vst and au version?
The new name for this plugin is Supertone Clear and it is DEFINITELY worth buying!! If you had the beta you can get a discount as well :)
Yeah, just been A/Bing Goyo with Clear, and it sounds a lot better, much less artefacts, really impressive ! Love the new UI too.
Have you got it working in davinci resolve? I have a weird time sync issue - have emailed their support team@@davelordy
Had to keep reminding myself it was free!
Thanks. I really appreciate.
WOW!!!!! Impressive! I need to check this out!
❤️❤️❤️
Holy crap this is insanely good
Christopher Nolan hates this trick
