Hey all! I hope people come away from this understanding that HG is more related to sample culture than synthesizer culture and not just about bongos and Latin samples, but the nuanced interplay between multiple and diverse sample sources drawn from a wealth of musical knowledge.
Cool, great track G! Nails that raw early Hardgroove Killa Bite Vibe perfectly! Earth People is a nice choice! I bought the 12 when it originally came out, I'm surprised more people haven't sampled it, such a good groove!
Interesting point of view at the end, when you say: it's all about finding the right samples and make all of them groove togheter !!! Thx for the video
I like this one - it's a better explanation of what hardgroove actually is, rather than trying to approach hardgroove from an awkward angle. Good video :)
I can't say that I learned anything, because it's too dense for me, but I can say I watched the whole thing and that your production is great and getting even better! Keep it up.
Good question! I keep hearing the word Hardgroove but haven’t taken even a moment to look into it. I’m ten years behind on what’s happening in the music scene. Looking forward to this one.
@@GUNJACKOFFICIAL No, nothing to worry but you could duck the music with your voice a bit, if you want to do it like that. But that was just a fun fact. Ig really sounded like dj rush. He played his records snd sometimes he just talked a for a few minutes something. And that sounded very similar.
I think Hardgroove is the logical step forward from Future Funk. Actually, I think Hardgroove is where Outsider House and Future Funk meet through the rhythmic mind of a Neo Breakcore producer. Melodic Hardgroove is essentially already sped up Outsider House with a more pronounced percussion.

I've been doing my research to play hardgroove in parties and this production video just opened my eyes to so much.... thanks a lot
damn, this loop really GROOVES. thank u
2:50 = I immediately heard Tao-Tek from Mauro Picotto and ferri
Love that track!
these samples were actualy used in popular techno bangers back in time
Yeah that earth peoples sample is a staple for sure
LOL that intro = sub
Mark Brooms octatrack videos are legendary
He is the undisputed hardgroove octa king 👑
100%!! Agreed
that was the best explanation of "hardgroove" that ive heard of

Nailed it 100% 🙂 Reminds me to the good old Ben Sims stuff.

Thanks so much for watching!

Always been a Broom fan, cool seeing the origin of the productions
Love that Hardgroove! You do it well! As you say it’s about finding those samples and making that groove, cheers GJ
Thanks so much

@@Fauxleroid yeah I watched the video and realize I just don’t know shut about techno in general haha.
Man this sounds so familiar 😍
Sample used in many classic tunes!
Your video is like listening to a dj rush set.
Talking while techno.
ah well sorry if the chatting puts you off, that's kind of my thing is to make music and talk the viewer through it.

it overlaps more with some of the more pacey disco/funky house of the day. but hardgroove predates those genres you mentioned to be fair
So dope mate!
Came here for the marvel vs Capcom 3 game.
Anxious!!!!
1:49 🙌
Nice and valuable history lesson, what do you think of some of the newer stuff getting labeled as hardgroove like Chlar / Funk Assault?
Love me some Chlar. Alarico got the funk too!
@@GUNJACKOFFICIAL love em both too, but id prefer if they pretended to sip coffee while DJing 😌
@@totaled_camry HAHAHAHAHA saw that did you?
