I've honestly only seen a few running backs in my lifetime that compare to this kid. His balance, body control, quickness, and vision are special. Plus the kid has some power. Remember, he did this behind a very poor offensive line. Hopefully he keeps his head on straight and stays healthy. Could have a very bright future.
I was watching film on Joey Bosa when I discovered this guy. Barkley absolutely humiliated that Ohio State defense in that game. This guy is hands down the best running back in college football. He is alot more elusive than Fournette and can get into 2nd gear faster.
StormMachinima Fournette is better right now. I think Barkley will be better in the NFL. Remember, Barkley was a true freshman last year. Cook will be a beast too, but trust me he will not be better than Saquon in the pros. Both Cook and Fournette dont have the lower body power and quick twitch ability that Barkley possesses right now. He is a mixture of Barry Sanders and Marshawn Lynch. Just watch. 1.Fournette 2.Barkley 3.Cook 4.Mccafrey 5.Chubb
That was when I discovered him, as well. PSU got thrashed and their QB was garbage, but this guy's talent and effort shines on every play. As for Fournette, it's easier to keep him contained because he doesn't have the same quickness, but he's more dangerous when he breaks free and is bigger. Barkeley is a slasher, and seems to fit the mold of many RBs who are having success now. Fournette is more like Gurley.
I think Barkley is incredible (I talk about him all the time), but let's not be stupid or hyperbolic. Fournette is very elusive (has scat back feet), and Fournette's 1st and 2nd gear is faster than Barkley's.
+7- FILMS Appreciate it bro. Although I know this video was subpar. Something happened to iMovie after I updated it and I had trouble exporting it so the quality is not good. I still appreciate your kindness! I found a way to download FCPX! Let me know if you have a Mac and would like to download for free too.
Thanks bro. I'm pissed that my iMovie has been complete shit since I updated it. The quality is terrible, I can't use the green screen effect and the videos won't export. Took me three days to find a way to export this. Terrible. Hopefully you're having better luck than I am
It's crazy how good the running back position has been after the media pundits and NFL jockies called it dead. Since the Trent Richardson bust debacle, you have some of the best RB play in the country since Marshawn Lynch, Adrian Peterson, Darren McFadden and all those guys were roaming around in a 3 year period. Barkley is already a top 10 RB to me. As an LSU fan he and our guy Derrius Guice have a similar running style. I want to see which one out duels each other in their junior seasons.
Better comparison would be Zeke Elliott. Speed, size and running style are all virtually identical. The one attribute that both guys have which is among the best I've ever seen by a running back in college or the pro's is the ability to cut and change direction without any loss of speed. It's what allows both of them break long runs in the 5-10 yard range past the line of scrimmage where most other players get tripped up.
Saquon and Zeke play very similarly. Perfect blend of speed, change of direction skills without slowing down and ability to break tackles. There's also a little bit of David Johnson that I see in Barkley's style of play. I don't see any resemblance between Le'Veon Bell and Barkley though; Barkley and Zeke thrive by accelerating through the hole at the right angle whereas Bell is a unique beast in that he generally gets to the hole and changes direction either in the hole or right after it which is why you see so many of his runs go for big gains due to overpursuit by the defense. Different running styles but all three guys are extremely effective. Bell's style doesn't seem like it's going to lead to him having a long career though, seems like he opens himself up more to big hits than either Barkley or Zeke.
Gerald McGill in my eyes, zeke does not have the explosive capabilities that saquon does. i really can't find someone else who jump cuts better than him. i think another testament to his explosiveness is his weight room production. he puts up numbers comparable to derrick henry and their style of play couldn't be more different. also, has zeke ever played behind a sub-optimal offensive line? def not. he's not battle tested in the sense that barkley is. saquon seems to consistently be able to run through series of defenders. zeke gets yardage from wide open holes or beating 1-2 defenders at most. not hating on zeke btw, he's def more of a punishing rb, but i ultimately think saquon is more elusive/explosive.
Watching that Penn State vs. MSU game. I knew going into it that Barkley was a stud. OSU need Penn State to win that one for a trip to the Big Ten championship game. And every time Barkley touched the ball he went somewhere and I couldn't help but think why he doesn't get more carries. I know he can't get the ball every play but when they don't give it to him, Christian Sackenberg, ruins everything. :(
+BigTen Buckeye Hackenberg is a pocket passer playing without a pocket. As a penn state grad/fan, I'm as frustrated as anyone else when he misses an easy pass 3 yards down field, but he was playing behind a line that would be bad at the FCS level and his tight ends/ widereceivers (not named Godwin) had a lot of drops. I think in the middle of the 2014 season you could see that hackenberg was starting to hear footsteps even when he had time and he's justified to rush things. My gut tells me he will go late 1st round to mid 2nd round in this years draft, all the "experts" on TV think it's a weird pick since he didn't put up monster numbers in college, then he shows everyone what he can do with a real offensive line. Just look at his 2013 season as a true freshman. All that being said, Barkley should be considered the 8th wonder of the world for getting to 1000 yards behind that dumpster fire we call an offensive line despite only playing 10 games (and he only got 1 carry in the first game).
Crazymobst3r Ok, I'll take your word for it because I don't watch Penn State every weekend. But Barkley in my opinion if the best running back in college football. Do those crazy things as a true freshman with a poor offensive line.... Put him at OSU or Alabama where the O-line is exceptional and I can't imagine. I almost hope PSU gets things figured out there just to see what he's really capable of. But maybe not lol we're both in the East.
+BigTen Buckeye I don't see the O-line being better than average next year, we are still feeling the residual effects of sanctions at that position. In two years though, Barkley's jr. season, the O-line *should* be close to where it used to be. P.S., I think I could run for 1000 yards behind bama's line. Barkley in that system would be scary.
I hope so man... kid is a stud. He has a tweet where he says he hates the Eagles though. That will definitel blow up if we draft him just like Smallwood's tweet lol.
So many good running backs in college football right now. It's so good to see
+Harris Highlights Agreed. I was afraid we would see all teams abandon the run game.
can't wait to play with this dude
Well assuming you're the real Miles Sanders, can't wait to watch both of you shred teams up for years to come.
Been waiting on his highlights. Great video!
+Beast Mode Thanks!
This dude is awesome. Remember, he did all of this behind the Penn State's trash O-line

+Shawn M You're forgetting Dalvin Cook. Him and Fournette are a lot faster than him and break tackles easier. After them he's probably the best

1.Fournette
2.Barkley
3.Cook
4.Mccafrey
5.Chubb
I don't thnik Mccafrey will do well either

Now I see where the 390 clean comes in ;)
Good work... As always

I just moved to Camtasia Studio 8 because it's a lot faster when you edit and it can produce some nice and clean footage.
+the CNtaco (theCNtaco) Oh okay. Blake told me a way to Final Cut Pro X last night and it worked! Let me know if you'd want to know how.
I don't have a macbook or mac. I want that editing software sooo much, but I don't have the amount of money for it.
the CNtaco Ahhhh okay. It's a free download for Macs unfortunately. How's Camstasia?
I saw him play against State, he has a bright future!
O.o i waited so long, thanks bro i support you
+figotinoXD I appreciate it man. Thanks so much.
Wow. This guy's agility and balance is better than any college RB I've watched this season other than Cook.
Damn this kids a ton of fun to watch haha
Definitely got a promising NFL future.*

John Myers let's be real, only saquon runs like saquon. his game is so unique.

+William Bigelow Link to song listed in almost every description of every video! haha Thanks for watching!
logic fade away
So Anxey That's not the intro song...
i bet if he had o-line that could block he would at least get close to 2000yrds eazy
You're not lying. That offensive line was pathetic last season. I can't wait to see Barkley ball out next season.
What's the name of that song
my dad was the principal at his high school
name of the beat?

croix meriweather look at his 81-yd touchdown run vs. Purdue
croix meriweather It seems as tho people just say that to say it because majority of the time its not even true.
Chill conservative I mean thats what i see thats only what i speak based off of
croix meriweather People said the sane BS about Darren McFadden in college, and it was BS.
