It's cheap labour. My Indian neighbours here in Ireland lost their jobs once our government agreed to issue thousands of visas. They're working for next to nothing. They can't get permanent jobs & because theres so many arriving, they're driving rents through the roof.
Local businesses won't hire them now. Once big groups move into an area driving up rents, people stop spending €€ & businesses close. Even our left wing politicians, like 🇨🇦, have called for an end to Indian visa's & mass deportations.

The H1b visa itself doesn’t create the problem. The big 7 tech giants don’t hire H1b for lower pay., it usually the consulting companies that pay them lower because they take part of the pay as their comission. And the reason the people are stuck with these consultancies is also not because of the H1b visa itself but the artificially imposed country cap on Green Cards (permanent residency).

@@keitha.1888 There is no comparison at all. India and Indian culture existed 5000 years before Christ was born. America was unknown even to the Europeans untill 1492.
India did not go looking for America. Europen whites went looking for the sea route to India and by mistake Columbus discovered North America. Then they all rushed to this newly "discovered" land. And what did the whites do here? Killed all the natives and grabbed their lands. They erased a complete race from the face of the planet.
What did the white Christian Europeans do in Africa. Captured Africans by force and then sold them like animals.
When White Christians Portuguese landed in India what did they do similar things.
The GDP of India was 27% of the world GDP when British reached India. By the time they left, India was the poorest country in the world. Brits looted equivalent of 450 trillion dollars from India.
What happened in America? The white Christians fought among themselves for supermecy. The Brits fought with French for seven years till they got control of the 13 colonies. White Christians kept killings Natives, enslaving blacks and killing each other. Even massacred each otjer. Then again the the same white Christians fought against British White Christians and drive them out. With the treaty of Paris, America was born. On the contrary, India got its independance in a non violent struggle in 1947. By the time Brits left India, it had been divided India into Afghanistan, Burma, Pakistan and Bangladesh. When millions of Indians were dying of hunger, Churchill was sending food grains from India to the United Forces. More Indians died during British rule than Jews in Nazi Germany. Even then Indian soilders shoulder to shoulder with the United Forces.
From the richest Nation on Earth where Vasco Da Gama wanted to reach Columbus wanted to reach became the country of poor dying of hunger. Thanks to the White Christians - the Brits.
In 1947 India got independance and in 75 years they are the worlds fourt largest economy and this year it would become world third largest economy.
For Indians, America is a role model. America is not even 250 years old but their achievements are tremendous. India does not even dream of competing with America. Forget America, even China's Economy is six times bigger than India. Indians don't live under any falce notion. They are simple, hardworking and law abiding people. They have been traders, businessmen, skilled workers and never limited themselves to their own lands. For them World is a Family. History is witness that all the places from where India's were removed, the country hit the dust. It could be Afghanistan, Pakistan, Burma, Uganda, Zimbabwe are some example. If troubled, Indians would not fight back, they will not creat civil unrest, they would simply go.
Indians don't even make 1.5% of the American Population but they pay 6-7% of the total income tax. They are highly qualified and very smart people. Patrick Bet-David, multi-millionaire, social media influencer, and CEO of Valutainment LLC recently posted a compelling video arguing for bringing in STEM geniuses. However, many of the commenters noted his company currently has a job posting for a graphic designer - through the H1B visa program! Graphic design is an arts degree, not a STEM degree. I think the job is paying $42K -in the Ft. Lauderdale or Miami area.
Notable are the many comments from people who report that the jobs being filled by visa holders are NOT ones that only STEM geniuses can fill. I’ve heard similar from a few programmer friends. The work visa program is being abused, and American workers are paying the price. And Musk wants to further loosen regulations.

As a US immigration attorney, I can tell you this is some really clueless commentary. The H1B visa has a procedure called a prevailing wage determination to make sure the foreign worker isn't depressing US wages. The prevailing wage determination is often higher than what a US worker would be paid! Then there is the EB2 NIW program when there is a shortage of an occupation such as nurses or pilots, which Ana seems to think is what the H1B visa program is for. There is only 65,000 H1B visas available worldwide and they are extremely difficult to get. Foreign workers can only stay for a maximum of 6 years total on a H1B visa, so there is that too. Clue up Young Dorks!

Didn't we see this before? About 40 years ago, didn't we see Japanese and Vietnamese entrepreneurs do informercials and say directly to Americans that we're fat and lazy? Shortly after that, isn't that about when we saw good manufacturing jobs leave the country for the sake of cheaper and more obedient labor? I get that capitalism has always required an underclass of laborers willing to do shittier and shittier jobs for less pay and less protection, but at some point we fat and lazy Americans need to stop listening to the people at the top of the pyramid who benefit the most and lose the least amount of their lifetimes doing menial tasks, and start listening to those who actually do the work and fight for those who do the work! The WORST thing the Democratic Party ever did was rig their last three primaries merely for the sake of electability, because even if Bernie Sanders lost the election as the Dem's nominee, at least the party would have dug itself in as THE party for the working class, and the Republican billionaires who now run this country would be seen as the fascists they truly are. Vivek would have been laughed out of the country for saying the things his Asian predecessors said 40 years ago!
