I don’t even have a reefer and still love the knowledge. Maybe I’ll get a reefer….maybe not but at least I’ll know how to take care of it if there ever comes a time.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for teaching n showing those that aren't too familiar with the importance of a pre-trip especially with a reefer unit. N how easy it is.
Good advice on wiring on alternator starter etc, my 1st trip on my 1st trailer a wire connected to the alternator snapped off and reefer shit off(lucky it didn't catch fire) and it costed me $250 for a simple snap on new connector on from wire to alternator bolt. Tha was my 1st ever reefer load and I was nervous lol got scammed out but I learned my lesson
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Your video helped a lot! I'm currently at a TA because my reefer unit wont turn on at all, I was on hometome for 5 days so I'm guessing it's the battery that needs a jump.
When I asked about this with my previous company they never trained me with everything mentioned in this video. It baffles me with $250k of Boar’s Head products
Fuel saving tips: Get a extended blow gun to clean the condenser before every trip. Have a dealer install a simple door switch toggle next to the display to trick the unit in low speed only. Install a electric lift pump to take the load off the mechanical pump. The efficiency difference is noticeable and it will prime the fuel filter for you. If you have a exhaust leak change the air filter more often until you get it fixed. Good luck.
DIY I delivered a machine to Lyons auction in Mays landing NJ last week there was some refer trailer's parked there they are going to sell they looked clean and newer thought of you when I saw them but I no times are ruff at the moment in trucking
Greeting group. I got a 7300 ×4, I set the temp to -10°F on Friday morning @ 10:00hr now it's Saturday 0135hr I'm still at 4.6°F degree. Refrigerant is at normal level, the red ball is floating. Any suggestions/ help will be appreciated thank you.
Have you checked your discharge temp? Go thru your menu and see what it is. We need to check your delta t to see what temp air you are putting out. Also, product could have been loaded warm
Is Ryder a good place to rent reefers from? I’ve had an opportunity arise out of southern Indiana to do reefer loads and was gonna give it a go, they want to charge 647 a week, .08 mile, 1.95 ever hour the unit runs, does that sound decent?
For the world's best fuel and oil additives go to Fuelox.com.. use promo code Diysemi and get 15% on every order.
I thought pre-tripping a reefer meant smoking a fat one before hitting the road.
Not enough videos on these! Thank you

Can you show how to check the Freon - also if the red balls are sitting low on the x 4, then how to add Freon. Thank you in advance

👍👍✊️✌️🙌
I pull a company trailer. None of this pertains to me, right?
🤔 pretripping a trailer??
no
Really?
That's just show how a bad driver you're. You should be ashamed to hold a CDL driver, what for me you're not
Saved in my DIY Library. 👍👍
I was quoted 1500 for the exhaust leak at carrier.
Always good advice. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge

Thanks for the thoughts. I have my eye on a couple at the moment
Thank you. Sir your video was very informative
Great information Thank you!
At the end of the video, your screen shows "diesel" .... Does that mean your unit is multi-fuel?
Where... I didn't see that
@@DIYSEMI at mark 10:05 just before starting pretrip. Top of screen says "Start/Stop .... Diesel"
It always says diesel on mine. Just normal I guess
@vroor32 The same software is used for the electric units.
Great tips. Thank you sir
What are the PM service things that the dealer will do on the reefer unit? ( Oil change, replace filters, add refrigerant oil…?)
Thanks,
Yes, and replace belts. Check battery, run prettrip check codes.
I have a thermo king and everything works great , but the display light is out and light on the corner of trailer is out to, would this be a fuse ?
Is any one knows where is engine speed sensor located in carrier units
I stole my reefer unit doors from jb hunt

That sounds very expensive
@@DIYSEMI Yea, I found a place that will rent a 2016 for 1200 a month! Pedigree, sounds like old Prime reefers out of Springfield
😎👍
How many hours till reefer units are supposed to get oil changed?
most intervals are now 3000 hours
