I thought pre-tripping a reefer meant smoking a fat one before hitting the road.

I don’t even have a reefer and still love the knowledge. Maybe I’ll get a reefer….maybe not but at least I’ll know how to take care of it if there ever comes a time.

Good advice on wiring on alternator starter etc, my 1st trip on my 1st trailer a wire connected to the alternator snapped off and reefer shit off(lucky it didn't catch fire) and it costed me $250 for a simple snap on new connector on from wire to alternator bolt. Tha was my 1st ever reefer load and I was nervous lol got scammed out but I learned my lesson

I'm currently at a TA because my reefer unit wont turn on at all, I was on hometome for 5 days so I'm guessing it's the battery that needs a jump.

Can you show how to check the Freon - also if the red balls are sitting low on the x 4, then how to add Freon. Thank you in advance

Fuel saving tips: Get a extended blow gun to clean the condenser before every trip. Have a dealer install a simple door switch toggle next to the display to trick the unit in low speed only. Install a electric lift pump to take the load off the mechanical pump. The efficiency difference is noticeable and it will prime the fuel filter for you. If you have a exhaust leak change the air filter more often until you get it fixed. Good luck.

Have you checked your discharge temp? Go thru your menu and see what it is. We need to check your delta t to see what temp air you are putting out. Also, product could have been loaded warm

Is Ryder a good place to rent reefers from? I’ve had an opportunity arise out of southern Indiana to do reefer loads and was gonna give it a go, they want to charge 647 a week, .08 mile, 1.95 ever hour the unit runs, does that sound decent?

    • @DIYSEMI
