  • Fuel prices are currently influenced by a number of different factors; some are circumstantial (typical of the moment, such as the exchange rates, the Russia-Ukraine war or OPEC's policy of restricting supply, which is coming to an end), but the underlying movements around oil show us very clearly that the peak of oil (of its extraction) has passed, and that what is coming now is a roller coaster with higher and higher peaks, in which the end of cheap oil is more and more likely while Asia and other locations on the planet are rapidly raising their standard of living, and there is as yet no clear substitute for black gold.
For 2023, with the awakening of China, the International Energy Agency has announced a new historical consumption record at a planetary level... that while in Europe, we continue riding in our historical contradictions that are erasing us from the map and impoverishing us every time more, little by little.
While this is happening, the BRICS countries, with China and India in the lead, benefit from the massive purchase of surplus Russian oil, which helps them boost their economies at lower cost.
