I can't conjure the words to describe HOW legendary and unorthodox of a player Unleashed was. Now he shows his grace, style and art in Kizomba dancing. May his KW spirit always live in our hearts.
Thank you for all your hard work Masterleaf. My play group and I play this game every year during my annual LAN party, and getting the new textures, patches, and maps is always a treat.
on dustbowl this is bread and butter vs brutal. The timing of the bloodhounds is exactly right to counter fast-eco. Very cool vid. Wouldn't be surprised if Unleashed figured it out on his own playing the computer. Not to downplay but it's actually pretty obvious because it works vs brutal consistently. Anti-brutal strategies should def work against mid-level human players or better. I feel bikerush would have made double barracks and shot it down tho. Even double tank would quelch the hounds without a need for MCV sell. Oppponent made very little effort to counter.
Personally I'm 2000 peak best day, but feel the strategy is 1200-1300 as shown. Dunno why they didn't make the 2 barracks off the bat, especially if the laser turret was deemed critical. (tho unnecessary imo)
I was thinking the same, I am sure that it works but he could just call in new ones if the need arose. I think he was going for the kill and didn't care if the units died since they were effective for killing his vehicle army.
Hey Masterleaf, i was wondering if i could make a request, you don't have to do it if you don't want to, but because you're the only kanes wrath player asides from bikerush that uses out of the box strategies i thought this might be a good idea you could try albeit i know it isn't exactly a game changer but i've been thinking about it for awhile now and did some tests on skirmish to see if it would work, i don't play the latest patch of the game but i've always wanted to, but i'm getting older and i'm a much slower paced gamer now, and having to react quickly in a great game like this isn't for me, but i love watching you though! My idea is simple and i have 2 of them incorporated to work in tandem together, destroying an opponents future tiberium field in their natural expansions, be it their 2nd or third field but i think it'd be easier to do it on their third but here's my strategy for you, and it involves the use of fanatics! everyone's least appreciated kanes wrath unit. The first idea is to get tiberium infusion and create a bunch of fanatics on hold fire stance and leave them in an opponents future tiberium field, as you know they will get stealth from the upgrade and being inside tiberium, and if in the early stages of the game i doubt the opponent will expect it given you're a long way from stealth tanks and leaving the fanatics there lying in wait you can use them to blow up your opponents harvesters, you could also do the same by stealthing some reckoners and filling them up with fanatics or any other type of unit and leaving them in a tiberium field, it's up to you and it's something i'd like to see, stealthed reckoners aren't something i see very much either. the 2nd part of the idea is to take advantage of shadow team artillery beacons on tiberium fields and using specters to shell the field from a distance, destroying the tiberium and denying the opponent to the field, the use of vapour bomb to further destroy outlying crystals so that growth only occurs from the center would allow you to allocate less specters to destroying the field as you only have to focus around the center from stimulating growth, alternatively i've found that tiberium troopers also do a very good job of destroying crystals, as they also damage nearby crystals when attacking just one. i'd love to see you give this a try and see if such guerilla style tactics could be employed in the game, as i know destroying your opponents economy based structures and units is commonplace, but why not destroy the very life blood fueling their war effort instead? because it's very easy to destroy an opponents tiberium rather than sending your units into immediate danger at the enemies expense.
So, please don't take this as criticism or anything - I am just adding my five cents... "as you know they will get stealth from the upgrade and being inside Tiberium," so - I was just fact checking - Tiberium infusion only offers immunity to Tiberium exposure. It does not offer stealth to fanatics (or other infantry). That aside, having the fanatics on the Tiberium field could prevent collection since they do a good chunk of damage. I suspect it would only be effective against Scrin factions, Black Hand and Steel Talons (they don't have defensive weapons on their harvesters) - since Fanatics don't have stealth detection, it probably won't work against Nod and MoK. (unless you actively want to keep detectors nearby. In which case, just use Attack bikes or Pitbulls.) I think leaving them in the field is a good deterrent - its just problematic that most players should have units like riflemen, or other infantry killing weapons on hand - so they could move those units to get rid of the fanatics (and likely be kited by them.) I think your second idea is much better - by destroying the field, they cannot gain an income. The only think I'd like to say here, is that it might be counter-intuitive as a lot of the time, it might be more efficient (time wise) to spend time killing harvesters because it is money that your opponent cannot get back. Those were just my thoughts though.
I love the idea of destroying the tiberium itself but unfortunately, in Kane's Wrath, it's usually just not worth the time and micro that could be spent on other things. It could work if you're fully turtling and playing specifically for the super-late game. But even then, at the highest level of play (where Master Leaf is) your opponent is simply too good to allow you to pull it off. Between their map presence and scouting they would sniff it out quickly and punish you for it. Also Master Leaf is simply too aggressive of a player to even want to play a build like this. I would love to see it from lower tier players though. The average player might not have the awareness to realize what's happening until you've already destroyed tens of thousands of their future money, and may not know how to properly deal with a fully turtled play-style. I could be wrong on all accounts though! You're definitely in the right place to theory-craft some weird strategies because that's Master Leaf's bread and butter, after all.
The harvester doing a cavalry charge, what a beautiful sight
Those infantry were locked in with the Harvesters! 😂

He was the Mikhail Tal of Kane's Wrath: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikhail_Tal

Good to hear! The amount of bugs fixed and balance issues addressed is quite frankly insane at this point. Happy to learn R22 being used in LANs.
The aggressive capturing of the tech buildings was clutch there, brilliant macro
I never thought to have the Oxs carry transports loaded with infantry. I learned a new strat!

Just out of curiosity, what's your chess elo?

Can you add the 2 player map "Black's big battle" to the latest updates?
Ill note it down
