That is so cool! Man, every bowler's dream right here....to have a bowling lane in their house that they can practice bowling on. (Or at least it's mine. ^_^) If money wasn't an problem, I would buy a house with enough space in the back yard to attach a hallway leading off from the main house to a separate building / room large enough for 4 regulation bowling lanes. That would be epic, I think.
My neighbor build his house! He bought the property and starting buying lumber and started building and then got it approved by the city and town to do it
This video is really helpful. I’ve built my bowling lane 5 months ago and the Lane we built was very similar! Many of your fans should say that this is very helpful. 😊
So I ended up here after looking for a skee ball machine for my basement. That got me thinking to how cool it would be to have a bowling alley in my house, which led to searching for mini bowling alley's, which ultimately got me here! This is so simple yet ingenious! While it may seem tedious to manually set the pins, this is the most inexpensive, yet effective, way to have a quality set up. Nice job!
You can also use rope attatched to the device and laid out to the front of the lane to have a system where you don't need to run back and reset. Or if you're really inclined, going a little mechanical could make it push button pretty easily. Did you ever build one?
I just wanted to Thank you for this video. I was able to build my lane from this tutorial. I did my pinsetter different. I built mine from the side to maximize my lane . I would have had no clue where to start without this video. I made a how to ,showing how I did mine and posted it to help others if they are looking to build a lane. I gave you props at the end of my video. Thanks again!
Very clear and well explained on how you made this bowling alley. Just a few engineering tweaks on the pinsetter and it would be ideal for a one-person game.
Wow man I’m glad you did this video. It is so great to see how you guys did it and also see all the new features you keep adding to the lane. Hope you have a merry Christmas.
Feb 2022: Nice job! - Something I did on a much simpler scale in 1977 with plastic pins found at toy stores on my dad's shuffleboard. My buddy and I rigged up a drop-shield and ball return, but manually operated. Been a project on my mind for billiard-ball scale and automated system since then! Maybe some day to full completion. LOL
11:13 AM Saturday, December 2 Watching other bowling videos... Dear Breadean, I am just asking, but what are the dimensions of the balls and the pins? I want my own mini bowling lane in my house, but i can't find all of the materials in my country. This video was very helpful, and i hope that you reply. Love from the Philippines🇵🇭. Good day to you, A random subscriber.
Hi Braedan. Thank you for the good ideas. What diameter and weight miniballs would you recommend for casual-for-fun bowlers building a lane about the size of yours?
Thus is very cool and well done. What would be cool would be instead of the Storm facing make an old AMF triangle and illuminate it with cool white led lights.
Hi Braedan, super cool setup you have here! I am trying to build one of my own now. Question on the scoring system...can you elaborate more on that? Does the ARDUINO run the open score software? Is the Logitech camera tied in with the arduino as well? What about the sensors? do you buy them separate and if so where? Sorry for the barrage of questions, this is really awesome!
Thanks! Awesome! Glad to hear more people are building lanes. I actually did videos on the scoring and went into more detail. Go to the playlist section on my channel then go to personal favorite videos. And both videos I did on the scoring are in there. Oh no! I forgot to link the infrared beans in the description. I'll look for them and if I find the link I'll comment it here
Canines are for everyone else. Felines are for me! 😂😂😂😂😂 I do not hate canines, I'm just not big on them like I was until my late 20s. Felines been my most fave since 14, thirty two years ago. There are three dogs I refer to as my "nieces".
I’m building. Mini bowling lane right now, I’m attaching the door mat right now I havnt done anything on lane yet I’ve the parts though and I’m saving up for the pins
We might build a 19 foot lane in our basement including the pin setter. Do you think this is long enough for a hook? Or just for bowling in general? We are also getting an automatic scoring system, we already have a spare tv that hands on the wall. We also are getting LED’s for the pin setter, and for the whole room just for some nice aesthetics
What he is trying to say is that you mostly mention what you use to make the bowling lane not actually showing how to put the parts together and assemble them.
Did you have to clean your laminate before you bowled on it? I’m asking because I have built one similar to yours and I have to throw my ball significantly slower in order to generate any sort of decent hook. Any suggestions on how to improve the backend?
I didn’t clean it. For me, I get less hook when I clean it. I’ve tried a few things with the surface to try and get more hook... nothing has worked so far.
i built one in my apartment and its only 2ft small in length and pin deck is smaller. but its running off a r/c controller and the motor for the pin deck is a battery operate john deere electric motor and now im getting score system order.
For the surface, did you use a roll of laminate (so you could or are there seams in the laminate between each 8ft section? If you took the lane apart, would there also be natural breaks in the laminate flooring along the seams of the 8ft sections?
The original lane surface was broken into three sections. So there was a break in the laminate flooring in between each section. But awhile back we put a continuous layer overtop of the existing laminate flooring. So there is no loner a gap.
Since I have a man cave above my garage, my dad and me were thinking of this but only once lane, but i'd rather set the pins by hand then buying money for electronics, but I can buy L.E.D lights
I have a cat, and she likes my shoebox lane. She likes to tick me off by moving the shoeboxes when I'm not playing. I got my set of balls and pins from Amazon. So if you want a very cheap lane like me, save some shoeboxes and buy of Amazon. It's only about $10 to make ;) not $1,300
4:34 Your lane is not level, but nice build I would replace the laminate with hardwood, laminate will crack with a good ball drop, I would of also had a button at the end of the gutter the ball would press and push your ball back to you instead of having a ball return.
Yea, it is slightly un even in some spots. When we originally built the lane we tried hardwood, but laminate flooring was way better overall. I’ve had the lane for three years now and never had a crack. So hopefully that doesn’t happen lol. I’m not sure if your button idea would work though. And it’s kinda un practical. There would have to be some sort of pushing system. And it would probably get damaged when a ball is thrown at corner pins just right. And many other factors. For me, it’s much easier to just set it on a track.
This is one of the best DIY vids I've ever seen: Thorough, yet well edited. Thank you for posting.
Thank you!!

Yes! Would love to have a regulation bowling lane at home one day. Or own a bowling center.
My dreams too!
@Tyler Neal 60 feet from foul line to headpin, ~62 feet, 10 inches from foul line to the very end of the lane
You can do that, You should make a green house above it so rain or branches don't brake it.
Mine too
When I build my house when I get older, I'm putting a mini bowling lane in it. This tutorial looks perfect.
OMG, I was thinking the same thing, dude!
Same
I don’t think you understand. You can’t really “build” a house.

Never mind the build, that pin setter is damn impressive

Cool!
Can I send you pics of my build?
iPhone X this is kinda old but would be good if you responded how long did it take you to build thinking on doing it
This is awesome. I had no idea there was open score. There’s open source for everything !
During the time of corona this is actually useful
So do you have to hand rack everything
Congratulations on getting 10000 SUBSCRIBERS
Thank you! :)
Thanks for answering my questions. Keep the videos coming. Hopefully the cat hasn’t spoiled any pocket shots.
No problem! Will do. Nope not yet lol
This is absolutely incredible
Awesome 😎 hoping to build something like this someday. For now I just tennis balls and water bottles and a box
Much better than nada! 😉
Nicely done! Impressive!
Thanks for the video, I might want to build one. Also at bowling today they had a party, but it is just normal bowling with food to get.
No problem!
Thank you, I love bowling!
Hi there! Is it posible you could do an explanation about the programing and code of the arduino? Thx loved the video 😁😁👌🏼
The cat is such a good model
This video is top notch!!! How does the ball return work?
Once again, the cinnamon steals the show lol

Best video I seen on homemade bowling alley. I'm looking to make a full scale one. How do you have a scoring system setup?
Very nice video and fun to watch. Have a nice day.
Thanks! :)
You should do a live stream if you just mini bowling I would like that
Hey Braedan, good news I have some more of the custom mini pins like you have in stock.
Hi Braedan. Thank you for the good ideas. What diameter and weight miniballs would you recommend for casual-for-fun bowlers building a lane about the size of yours?
That's so cool I wish I had all of those stuff but I don't but good vid tho and nice lights
Thanks!
You finally got the 10 minutes in for more Adsense.👍🏻😂
Nice job on 10k!
Thanks!
He has a million in the safe already
Duhitzluke Tv he doesn’t make that much money. Lol
I'm gonna try this when I grow up. From Felecia's son.

The scoring program I use has functionality to make a pin triangle work. So I might do it someday.

now I wish I had this
hey i am thinking of making my own about how much will it cost?
You can build a nice lane for $500. But this lane is about $2,000. But that includes all of the changes and upgrades we’ve done.
Very nice build. I'm in Ohio also. I built a lane many years ago. They are very fun.
I'm wondering if anyone ever called you 'Brenswick' after seeing this in action. :D
Thanks for making it Dillan.S☺

How much in total do you think it cost in time and money to make this?

Ronin YM oh sorry
hi Braedan Brenneman this tutorial is very good but I have one question how can I get those mini bowling pins if I am not in the US
I’m not sure about that. You’ll have to contact the seller.
Braedan Brennaman I put some heavy surface on the ball (400, 220 grit) with little effect! You might wanna give that a shot! Thanks for your help!
What was the cost of your construction. A ball park figure is good enough. Sweet lane
My setup is around $1,000. But you could build a sweet lane for about $500
i built one in my apartment and its only 2ft small in length and pin deck is smaller. but its running off a r/c controller and the motor for the pin deck is a battery operate john deere electric motor and now im getting score system order.
Any future plans on making an AUTOMATIC pin setter?
Ha, I wish. lol it's only a dream right now
what size of ball you use, the candle stick or duck pin balls
Hi Braedan, Where did you get your lazer for the ball detector? I'm having someone put one together for me. My other one died.
Here are the ones I use: www.yourduino.com/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=86
Can the bowling balls be shipped to England?
I'm trying to make a bowling place what should I call it
For the surface, did you use a roll of laminate (so you could or are there seams in the laminate between each 8ft section? If you took the lane apart, would there also be natural breaks in the laminate flooring along the seams of the 8ft sections?

Ahh ok. Thanks for sharing your project Braedan. Great job on this.
i hope i can build this in my new house in the future
I would like to build one but lumber and wood prices are crazy high right now!
If I were to build a mini bowling lane I should get the pins before or after starting building
Before
Why before?
Damn that’s so cool..
Thanks :)
Hey man this Video is really old but how much money did this take to make all this and how long? Thinking of doing one like this
Since I have a man cave above my garage, my dad and me were thinking of this but only once lane, but i'd rather set the pins by hand then buying money for electronics, but I can buy L.E.D lights

How'd you make the balls? is there a way to make bowling balls for things like this?
One of the first things I mention is the balls. The link is in the description to the website.
How much in a guess did you invest in it? I'm interested in making my own.
I’ve put about $1,100 into this lane. But you could build a nice lane for $500. The pins and balls are the expensive part.
Very cool!

Yes actually
You should build another lane so you have 2 lanes so you can do switch bowling
Haha. I want too but mom won't let us build another

one question. when you ordered the pins, was it $95 for 20 pins?
$95 for 10

How much did you spend in all on this project?
