I've always thought that Brad Delson was such an underrated guitarist, he wrote so many banger riffs but I was surprised Guilty All the Same wasn't on here. Definitely one of his best riffs and my personal favourite imo, but great job as always man
Mike probably wrote most of them. or at least some of them
@@driftm0nkey241 Mike and Brad wrote most of them together but Mike wasn't as good at playing them as Brad. Mike has always said that he knows enough to make a song and is content with it, the harder things like playing these riffs live is left for Brad.
@@pandyssianrat A lot of them Mike wrote alone. He's talked about how he basically wrote all of "In the End" in one go, and how he took the riff from "Faint" and raised it up an octave compared to the early demo, then wrote different chords to go under it.

I really appreciate how most of these riffs are pretty simple, which makes them very accessible, insanely catchy, and a lot of fun to play. Linkin Park are truly a once in a generation kind of band
Yeah, it baffles me how simple yet so good they are.
It’s easier to make complicated riffs full of complex theory… but it’s harder to make a simpler riff that compliments your song well!
That’s why I don’t really have a lot of respect towards RUclips musicians who make videos just to shout out their technicality and music knowledge… the successful artists out there wrote their simple music for art’s sake and make good songs, not to stand out.
Yet the guy managed to get almost most of them wrong lol! They are little mistakes but so annoying to hear.

Glad to see Don’t Stay on the list. Don’t Stay in my opinion the most underrated song and riffs from Linkin Park! Probably one of the most underrated Nu-Metal riffs for that matter. Awesome work!

Given up is my favorite Linkin park song. The riffs are super simplistic but they just hit, especially the pinch harmonics

Awesome to see Somewhere I Belong here. Delson did a lot to make that song sound really big. And although its simple, its hard to get the nuances right of that particular riff. Its my favorite LP song \m/.
To be fair entirety of the hunting party deserves to be in the list. That was the best work of Brad imo.

Also because it wasn't electronic as much as the other albums which left Brad an open spot for his creativity to flow out and that made is such a good album combined with Chester's heaviness

Great bass mixing here. Love hearing the bass make the whole track THICK with power, as it SHOULD.
sure Brad’s riffs aren’t the most difficult riffs to play, but that’s what I like about it. They’re simple and fun and easy to learn, and they’re catchy as hell.
I really like the riff on 'Pushing me away' as well. People always leave that one out, sadly.

I've recently started learning some Linkin Park tunes on guitar, and it gave me respect and appreciation for their work - they use some really interesting tunings, even though a lot of their stuff sounds pretty straightforward at first listen. That opening part of Papercut isn't actually a guitar riff in the original. It's a tone played on an MPC through guitar distortion effects.
