I have found the best cleaner for the shower. You just spray it on the glass the walls the floor everything in the shower leave it overnight and then when you take a shower the next day just rinse down the walls and glass and squeegee the glass down and it stays clean. you do this once a week. I know this is going to sound so gross but since I have found this product I have not scrubbed my shower in two years. It’s called wet it and forget it shower cleaner. You can find it at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I would put a picture of it but I don’t know how. Lol

The older I get, the more I appreciate using vinegar as a household cleaner. It makes your pots and pans shine (the ones that aren't nonstick), by removing the haze you often see even after you scrub them well. With egg cookers, electric kettles, and coffee pots, vinegar will dissolve the mineral deposits left behind. Just add vinegar, turn it on to get it hot, scrub for a few seconds and then rinse. It will be like new again. Lastly, if you've ever left batteries in something and they corroded; after removing the batteries, put vinegar on a cotton swab and apply to the corroded +/‐ contacts. It will melt the corrosion off so that when you put new batteries in, the contacts are clean and like new again. 😊

This is the best life advice lol everyone should know these things and I just love how well you articulated that. The TikTok stuff is funny, I don’t personally spend much time on it because I’m busy actually cleaning 😂 but it’s all instant gratification with these young people, some things take time and patience, and of course elbow grease lol but my mom always taught me you can take almost anything apart and clean it. And if you’re going to do it, do it right. lol

Just a fair warning to folks that vinegar (acetic acid) can RUIN metals, especially anything with aluminum. So if you have some vintage aluminum collectables, please don't have vinegar around it. LOL Tip: also for the ring of hair dye stsin that you have in your shower, if you get whitening toothpaste on counters or tile or any kind of surface for dark hair dye, put it on there for 15 minutes and then it usually wipes the stain clean.

So, a few things: 1- I absolutely love how you show true messes & don’t preclean to avoid “backlash” or embarrassment! Let’s be honest, nobody has a perfect house. I’m OCD & my house gets this way also, especially with 2 small kiddos, an ironworker for a husband, & a big ole dog(although he thinks he’s a lap dog lol). 2- everything you used in your oven is what I use regularly, I just kinda grab whichever one without thinking but they all work the same for me. The pink stuff, scrub daddy power paste & bar keepers friend are pretty much my go to cleaning products for pretty much anything that needs a tougher scrub. The power paste is pretty much the only thing I use on glass shower doors, I scrub with it then when it’s clean I will rinse and squeegee the water away, then clean the glass with a glass cleaner(spray away or isopropyl alcohol are my go to glass cleaners). 3-the shower cleaning- you used the Lysol toilet bowl cleaner on caulking, not grout. That’s why it didn’t look the same when you used the other products on the actual grout. I highly highly recommend ZEP grout cleaner & brightener. I get it from Lowe’s but I’ve gotten it from Walmart before also. Using toilet bowl cleaner on your grout & tile will damage it over time. 1 time won’t hurt it much, but it WILL if you keep using it. I figured I would share a few tips I’ve learned myself from experience & from my dad being a contractor my entire life & learning from him what not to do to extend the life of things in a house from a construction POV. Hopefully this helps someone & makes their life a little easier!💕

But since you just have to know about my mental health, yes I was actually diagnosed with OCD (amongst a few other things) almost 2 years ago after being misdiagnosed many times. I’m not sure how you got confused with me saying that I’m ocd… i didn’t say “I think I have” or “I feel like I have”. Is there a reason you’re asking a complete stranger on the internet about their medical history? Lolol

Here’s a random cleaning hack that my mom taught me when I was younger. If you have a regular coffee maker or even a Keurig or anything like that to clean it out and make sure your coffee taste fresh, put 3/4’s water and 1/4 white vinegar into the water holder. After that run it about 6 times making sure that all the vinegar has ran through. You will see some nasty floaters that were stuck inside of the system. After you do that clean the pot really well and it’ll be ready to go!

Loved the video - thanks for keeping it real. I noticed that some of your plastic containers have tomato stains. Those should fade if you let them sit in the direct sunlight - probably for a day or so. Regarding the dishwasher... as others have mentioned, you should also be pulling out the filter to clean it. I do that once a week - it only takes a minute. If you haven't done it before, it will be very nasty, so be prepared. Also, as others have mentioned, there are products made to clean the inside of your dishwasher that work great. I like Finish brand. I try to do that once a month. Just think about all of the nastiness that your family is ingesting if your dishwasher is dirty...

First tip, I always have 2 different universal aerators &/washers in my tackle box and just cleaned all my faucets with vinegar about 2 weeks ago. BTW, Walmart sells inexpensive fishing tackle boxes along with accessory containers. Better than paying for most toolboxes. The lure boxes come in a variety of sizes that holds screws, nails, many kinds of washers and nuts. Buy more tackle boxes: cleaner box, tool box and my most newest box is for makeup! Tik Toks had me buying the Pink Stuff. My winner in 50+ years of cleaning is nearly always vinegar and baking soda. Lemon and salt is also helpful. Not a cleaning hack per se, but little black spots or scratches or scrapes that can't be cleaned off of white appliances, sinks, baseboards, corners, anything drive me crazy; my solution is to use a dot of cheap white nail polish to cover the blemish. It's not always a perfect match but it works well enough that the blemish ceases to catch my eye every time I'm in the vicinity.

In your shower you have both caulking and grout. The caulking is whiter than the grout naturally and will clean differently.

    Great tips.
With my dishwasher, I always leave the door open for an hour or 2 when it’s finished. This way nearly everything, especially plastic, drains off really well.
I’m really glad that you used shop bought items. Sometimes I feel guilty when I see cleaning hacks & they use vinegar etc.
P.S. I never leave the house when the dishwasher, washing machine or tumble dryer are on as anything could happen & it’s risky.

I’ve heard this before but never thought it would happen to me. Well I had my dryer going while I was cleaning my kitchen when I smelled something burning. There was fire in my dryer that quickly grew and spread into my hallway. Fire spreads within seconds. I change the lint after every drying cycle. I discovered that the company had left a manual inside the back of the dryer. We discovered this after unscrewing the back panel.

I have a suggestion for Rubbermaid/Tupperware containers to prevent them from getting stained from red sauces. Just spray the inside bottom & sides quickly with some olive oil before putting the food inside. It's not enough oil to effect the food but it's enough to protect the plastic from absorbing the sauce. 😊

After you clean the grout super well, use floor wax on the tiles and grout. Then the grout surface that starts as porous and bumpy, becomes smooth. I used to wax the floor and tiles in the bathroom, esp. around the kitty litter box. Makes the whole chore alot easier.

2 shower tips... to keep water spots off the glass door, after cleaning wipe down with Olde English furniture polish using a clean, dry cloth. Just a little bit. No more water stains (great for hard water). Into an empty spray bottle put 1/2 cup bleach, a few drops of dish soap, and fill with water. Spray shower and let sit. No rinsing necessary. No more mildew. To make your dishwasher smell fresh, run an empty cycle with a package of Lemonade Kool Aid (unsweeteened). ❤❤❤ Thanks for the cleaning hacks!!!

The vinegar is great. You can use Barkeepers friend which is very mild and gentle for the glass.....
Now... just rub it all over the glass and let the paste soak for a little bit. Get a Widget.. Scrape at an angle an all of it will come off. Use the magic erasers and not the scrub daddy. It takes less time than the rest of all of that. I used to clean professionally. Magic erasers, bar keepers friend, or a glass polish from a glass/window shop. My local shop had a fabulous polish> still used the magic erasers and the widget.
The towel hack may be because you use fabric softener in your towels... it keeps kitchen towels from being absorbant.

We use the towel in the dishwasher trick too, but I use two tea towels - one across the top rack, and one into the closed door! It gets much better results. Also - be very careful/wary of the toilet bowl cleaner, the reason it works is that it eats the top layers of your grout, including your sealant. You'd have to reseal your grout after using it.

Awesome video!!! I just bought 2 things of the pink stuff like a week ago, I'm going to start using it today...I think with the dishwasher towel thing, your supposed to slightly open the door and have the towel ready before hand (maybe a bit smaller than the one you used 🙂) and VERY VERY QUICKLY like before the steam all comes out put the towel on the door, and very quickly shut the door. It does work, but I think u may have had the door opened a little too much, and aittle too long. So I bet another try would work?? Just a suggestion (NOT BEING A KAREN, I know how some people may b thinking about my comment, but its not how I mean to sound 😉🙂) so, I think its worth another shot...

Also I just watched a video where some women used white vinegar, dawn dishwashing detergent and baking soda and made a paste and dabbed it on their dirty oven and let it set and came back and just wiped it out with wet rags.
