This song is an italian rap icon. If you want to hear another huge one, i'd suggest you "Quelli che benpensano" by Frankie Hi NRG. You should find the english lyrics too. Greetings from your roman fan!

      @gniccolai Год назад +7

"Quelli che benpensano" It's a staple of Italian Hip-hop. It literally means "Those who think well", but there's a word play here (of course), as it turns a adjective participle "benpensanti" into a verb "benpensare". Il "benpensante" is a person that has all the "right" political views; you'd call it "politically correct", but in our case is more a traditionalist than a progressit.
I love that song, but I prefer "autodafe" from the same album: ruclips.net/video/ZK5xN_2AQw4/видео.html -- The title means "confession, penitence", it's a Portoguese word that means "Act of faith": it was a sort of public disavowing of incorrect religious views someone might have previously made known, a public penance.

This is the song he became famous with. If you read the lyrics in Italian, even if you don't understand them, you can understand they are full of linguistic games.

The pronunce is something like "cup-a-retsa".
"Caparezza" in his town means something like "curly-hair head"

The song is a metaphor for heroin addiction that was a big problem for caparezza's generation

Yes, he is the early Caparezza. Song from 2003, released in 2005 as a single, it was the song which made him famous.
One of his first song that hides, in a happy rhythm, serious concepts (listen to "Vieni a ballare in Puglia"!).
He says: People get amused by discotheques, mondanity... No, not me. My hand-me-down car is my pub, my disco and my sofa! A bun and some salami rather than sumptuous dinners. A VHS, I eventually turn the volume up. This is my amusement!

you can react to "mea culpa" ( first music after mikimix ) or "la fitta sassaiola dell'inguria" even that was even before this song. this type of music today it sounds a bit strange but at the time that was real music here in italy.

fun fact if not mentioned before, in Italian, "out of the tunnel" typically refers to being off of addiction. In this case he is talking about him escaping the addiction of being popular and following the "norm" that is generic popularity. Its funny because this whole song can boil down to "fuck being popular, I am my own man, fuck boring songs in clubs" (which is why he picked this silly beat) then people overplayed this in clubs nonstop missing the meaning.
aside from that, this song got me into caparezza and ill keep commenting and liking your cappa vids lol keep up the good work man and thanks for lifting me up replying to my comment on big bangs "loser". it really made my day bro

This song is from 2003 while Mica Van Gogh from 2014. Besides since the sixth album ( 2014), he is producing his own music so the albums Museica, Prisoner 709 and Exuvia have also more particular sounds because are self produced

Oh, also, the ball he's escaping from. It's from this SF series of the 60's, "the prisoner", a dystopic science fiction loosely inspire by Huxley works, about a sort of social experiment where people was taken into a colony and had to be happy. The ball in this scene ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=the+prisoner+ball+chase+ was a robotic probe that would capture anyone trying to escape and bring them back to the colony. It was introduced in Italy right before Star Trek, and it was quite successful.

Due to a series of propaganda/advertisement from the Italian government in the early eighties, "being in the tunnel" is an euphemism for "being addicted to drugs". The ad was like "Get out of the drug tunnel!" -- and that was source of so many early memes in our pop culture that now every Italian knows that "being in the tunnel" means to be addicted to substances.
A famous joke goes like, "Did your addicted friend get out of the tunnel?" -- "Well, not really: he ended up furnishing it."
This song says that trying to get fun at all costs is a kind of drug, and Caparezza grew out of it.
Also, as in the tradition of rap, the song has a lot of citations (i.e. "silenzio che puo' diventare musica" comes from this song: ruclips.net/video/bFe29LC_yFg/видео.html -- of course, another meme).
Btw, Ang, have you seen this prog rock? ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=tanta+tanta+politbureau -- if you like it I have a translation ready for you :)

This Song became a banger in Italy back in 2003/2004, he understood that what people wanted from him were more "fuori dal tunnel". So he decided to make the album "Habemus Capa" to spread all of his political side. A genius

Offtopic but you should react to something from folkstone, an Italian folk metal band from Bergamo. Some songs could be Nebbie, Prua contro il nulla, In caduta libera or Anime Dannate
There are also fleshgod apocalypse, another italian metal band but they're way heavier and they sing in english, listen to "the fool"

Not really: it's not "caparYza" but "caparEzZa". E not Y, i mean the one you would use in "no problEma".. you dont says "no problyma". And you have to use two Z, as you do in pizza.. you dont says piza, but pizza. So "caparEz-za". just ear how he say it in the song.
Italians never read E as a i/y.. E is ever readed as the one in "no problEma".
