Unfortunately I've worn these out an am no longer biking so can't upload a video of me wearing them. They cover your ankle though an with jeans look good. Think there some photos of them on feet if you Google image it.

Yes they fit true to size, I am a size 8 and that's what I bought. In regards to safety I used them tk commute and the feel of them I was happy that in a crash they would save my ankles as they have solid lumps sandwiched in between the fabric on the ankle bone area like standard motorcycle boots, The leather was thick and no doubt would take a slide down the road, I think if I decided to wear then out for a long ride with mates they would def be safe an they are so much more comfy to walk about in when grabbing a coffee/walking in(I use to walk through several tube stations and a 10min walk to get to work once arriving in London an they were like walking in comfy work boots instead of slippy motorcycle boots which use to dig in my calf so these were amazing) Hope that helps?

I guess the tab is there for your laces... Personally I never lace my boots to the top and then roll them around your ankle and do them up.

D V when you get to 40deg your better with white pair of boots. But coupled with light moisture wicking socks, should be ok
