I really don't think you understand the impact you're having on people's lives. This goes far beyond just simply sharing valuable information. The level of the information you share is life-changing for many. Another tip about ordering samples when you do put more than one design on your shirt. What I mean is like make a contact sheet of your designs and have that printed on your shirt. That way you can see more designs on the same product that you're going be printing on. If you don't know what a contact sheet is it's basically a grid I think of tic-tac-toe in each square you would be putting an image in it. Then you're basically getting more samples of your designs printed on one shirt or sweatshirt or tote bag etc... You could even do a all over Print or front and back sides to get even more. This way you can see more of your products printed and make sure the colors right and you don't have to keep ordering samples. I'm a professional photographer and we use Contact Sheets all the time before digital. Speaking of that one other tip to keep track of all your files if you have access to Adobe Lightroom or aperture you could upload all your graphics into that so you can see all your files at once. I just thought about that last night. You can also just print those print sheets of paper put all your designs on them that are 1 inch or 2 in. Squares. For your own records. The longer you do this you may start losing track. Also hard drives crash. I know this from experience. I know a lot of you were using Canva you can do this process there.

Hi Nadine! I talk about what to do if there's a quality issue in my returns and exchanges video ruclips.net/video/J8MVU8OxryM/видео.html I hope that helps explain the process! Thanks for watching!
PRINTIFY! Another great video, Cassiy! You don't get the credit you deserve for giving us the best tips on POD. Hopefully that changes soon! Question: do you think this would work on red? I've had white come out pink on red hoodies in the past. Thanks again!
Yes any darker color this will work well on! But I always make my mocks on red or maroon a little more transparent for the design to make sure it looks realistic to how it will print.
You are such a life saver!! I am actually implementing this for the color sand using swiftpod. I would have never thought to use this strategy. Thank you so much!!! I appreciate you, thank you for your dedication.
This is so helpful! I ordered a sample black sweatshirt with white text on it some time ago, and have shied away from them ever since because I was bummed at how faded the white looked! Thanks again! This is amazing!
Printify! Wow! This video is so helpful. I've heard about doubling up for brighter whites, but not the hex codes. That is a much better solution for designs with light and dark colors. Thank you!
Printify has come out since this video and said that doubling up designs doesn’t actually do anything anyways since they flatten the image before the print it so the hex codes is the best option!
Before I write, I need everyone watching to PLEASE believe me when I say, of all the wonderful videos out there, if you were forced to choose one to watch , it must be this one. Printing Text, Designs with DTG. (Caveat, I don't know Cassiy personally). A while back, before I even thought of using DTG, I was appalled to see the finished product for a black shirt using white for text or white as part of the design. I am limited to what I can write here, so I hope I make my point. Years ago, my friend and eventual boss, started a company selling shirts. He sold his first t-shirt in NYC, a Flea Market. Years later, I started working for him. Here I was, bringing orders out to the shipping dock, 70,000 to 80,000 a week. Yes, a week. He watched as other of the same businesses around him failed, or simply became mediocre. I observed and learned through him. There was one area particularly, he would pay strict attention to. Yep, the "Print." He never, ever, sent out a print, when he knew it did not look as it should. He would not dare send a shirt out if he saw Black, showing through a White print. However, this is what happens each and everyday when we use DTG. You have a great shirt, sell thousands of them, and soon, the sales slow down. Why, a customer receives a shirt, and they see exactly what Cassiy has shown here. As for my boss, his sales did not slow down. They kept going and growing. His product excited people. His customers spread the word. Your product, ladies and gentleman, IS your business. It IS your brand. Without that, you, we, have nothing. One more quick story. A large company caught on to the care and quality he put into his work. There went my weekend, lol. Why. He received an order for 60,000 pieces for one, yes one shirt. Finally, my boss, for the most part, used the Silk Screen Method. Please, pay close attention to this video. It is absolutely insane, that DGT Print Companies do not have videos on this extremely important topic. My friend/boss, retired at a young age, and a millionaire. Sold his business, and collected royalties for a set number of years as an advisor to the new owners.
As always, your information is always so concise and practical without wasting a lot of time to make a video longer, I very much appreciate that and you are always my top pick to watch! Question: If I go back to my products that are white on black and change the graphic, will Printify use the current graphic if it is not published again or do you have to publish again?
Yes you can go back and edit old ones and just save as a draft instead of publishing and they will use the current graphic that you have when printing!
It’s soo Amazing how much more knowledge I gather just going through the comments. I ordered samples and noticed the print size were a bit smaller, so I increased the sizes in printify and published again I got so overwhelmed updating all the mock-ups again!! Thank you soo much Cassiy you are the G.O.A.T!
Thank you! I’ve been trying to get some answers from printify about why the print does not seem like good quality b they assured me all looked ok (file, ink, etc) I didn’t realize the white on black is “a thing” 😊
This video couldn't be more timely! I'm just getting started with Printify and I ordered samples of t-shirts in white, black, gray and a creamy yellow. The black ink on white was fantatastic, but all the others had issues with ink. Like the white ink you showed in the first sample, all of my samples were crackled looking. This video has helped tremendously! I'm going to try using the hex codes. I've also heard that the colored shirts are blends and that affects the ink too. The white shirt was the Bella and Canvas 3000 and other than the fact that the t-shirt wasn't as heavy as I wanted, the image came out so amazing. Anyway...thank you so much for sharing! Your videos are always so inspiring and chock full of great stuff!
I’m about to start my business and I would’ve never known or thought about the doubling up on white for black, thank you so so much for sharing what you know!!!!
Cassiy Johnson, you are amazing! This is EXACTLY what I was researching tonight! I believe the Lord led me to your video! Thank you for your selfless, over the top, service to others in the POD field. I've actually been doing F8F8F8 on dark grey heather. So, I'm glad I've been in the ballpark with this. I'm going to switch to the first hex code you listed AND jump into using black shirts and I even feel brave enough to do black sweatshirts and hoodies after seeing your video! Like someone already mentioned in the comments, I don't know if you know the impact you are having. You for sure saved me hours of research and more than that, the pain of uncertainty about the quality of shirts my buyers are getting! God Bless you!
Sorry I didn't cover this in the video! You use hex codes within your design software, so if you use Canva then click the text you want to change the color, then go to the rainbow box in the top left corner, you will be able to type in a number at the bottom of the rainbow box to choose what color in there that you want. You would then copy and paste one of the hex codes in the description.
I am just about to get started in my Etsy journey. I cannot thank you enough for your videos! You have been the biggest help in getting up to speed very quickly! Keep up the great work and thanks again for sharing this with everyone!
Congrats on getting started! My best advice is not to wait. Your shop might get suspended when you open it and you may need to wait a few days while they verify your bank, so I'd recommend at least opening your accounts and getting that out of the way so when you are ready to get going, you don't have so many obstacles standing in your way. It's going to feel overwhelming but don't try to learn everything before starting, there is just too much. Just learn as you go and take one baby step forward everyday in your business! Best of luck!
@@CassiyJohnson thanks so much! I managed to open, and get my accounts set up without any issues (and your advice is why I went ahead and set up shop). First 5 items listed...hundreds to get together and list :)
This is super helpful, thank you! Ironically I had just duplicated one of my designs by accident. I was adding graphics extra graphics to a top where I already had my first draft of the design on. So you know when you add another one it sits on top of the first one, and this particular design was pastel and I was going for a trippy effect, so it looked even better and I just left it like that. Meanwhile, this video was ready for me in another tab lol. I'll definitely have to check out those hex codes.
omg I'm so happy to finally find a video of cassiy that helps prints on dark colour clothes. I was so upset with the navy sample I ordered and literally no white undercoat was put under the main print and I can see all the navy under the print.
I’d go with the off white color recommendation from this video for best results! Printify has stayed that they compress the files so there is no need to add multiple files to an item, my print must have been a fluke that it was better!
@CassiyJohnson Hi cassiy thanks for replying. I actually made a sweatshirt with white pink and grey on a navy sweatshirt. And the colour came out horrendously. You could see all the navy under the print. The hex colours you gave are for white specifically. But what about pink and light grey I put on my navy top? is there a way to do off pink? or off grey as the navy was coming though all those colours I chose on the sweatshirt. Newb here and only learning though your videos. :(
Thank you for such a helpful video. I've been doing POD for a year now, and I have never seen anyone talk about that particular issue. I don't know if I would have quite believed it if you hadn't had the samples made! I went through this morning and doubled up the files (very carefully) on all my white designs, and will design with slightly off white from here on out.
That's what I did as well. Doubled up old designs and will use off white going forward! Had I not seen this video, I would've gone back and done extra work for nothing and gotten frustrated.
Excellent video, game changing! My first pod products are on black sweatshirts.. did not even think about the white on black print issues. You're visual comparison was very well done, thank you!!
Just started listing shirts a couple weeks ago...Started watching LHC and found your channel through them. Really appreciate your step by step and click by click detailed instructions! now i just need sales : )
Printify. Personally, I think the doubled-up white really makes the print pop. Thanks so much! I'm learning so quickly from you. Now, if I can just get my bank to get it's thumb out, I can get things rolling!
PRINTIFY!! I really appreciate you Cassiy for all the useful information you provide us with. Your channel really has the best print on demand information out there. Your knowledge is so valuable thank you for sharing it!
I had a thought that in order to see what ink colors show up the best on white and black shirts was to create a design of the alphabet on both a black and white shirt and then do every single letter a different color. I think this might be helpful for beginners just to see which colors show up best on black and white. What do you think is that a good idea for people to do?
Hi Cassiy! Do you think if I put a white underneath a colored print that it would print better/brighter? Or would you recommend doubling up the colored print itself? I have a print in particular that keeps showing up faded
Cassiy, this is really great information. I appreciate you so much! I really want my store to have QUALITY shirts, so this is a very important tidbit of info! THANK YOU!!!!!
Fantastic video as usual! Thank you! Have you already done a video on hex codes? That's my first time hearing of them and would love to learn more on how to use them! 🤗
I probably should have explained that in this video sorry! I don't have one on hex codes but essentially on Canva when you go to select your color from the little color box you can click on that's like a rainbow, it will have a number at the bottom telling you what the "hex code" is for that color. This is where you would enter one of the hex codes from the description! Hope that helps for now
@@CassiyJohnson amazing!! Thank you!! And no need to reply! Thank you SO much for the response and for always creating such great, informational videos! You are very inspiring! ☺️

So glad you are enjoying my content! I am currently working on creating a course that would have a mentorship/ongoing coaching included! I will keep everyone updated as it gets closer
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been scared to design anything with white and this is so helpful and gives me more confidence to start selling tshirts. ❤
You are the best! Thank you sooo much for your amazing content! You give me hope that maybe I can do this... You share information that no one else is offering! I recommend you to everyone I know that is starting a POD journey - you are so appreciated! Question - do you think it's a good idea to double up the design just in general - no matter the colors? Could it possibly help the design last even longer? Or do you think it's not really necessary?
Thank you so much for recommending me!! You are so sweet and I am so glad you get value from my videos! No not necessary to double up any designs besides the white, I tried to explain it in this video but maybe I didn't do it right. The reason doing the off-white works, is because when colors are printed, they will print a layer of white underneath of the color to make sure it looks brighter. So they already do two layers when they are printing colors!
I love your videos! Just getting into Etsy and Printify and you've helped me out so much already. Keep doing these videos please, even when you think some information might be too much, because it's not.. it's so helpful
So glad I came across this video right after watching your guidance on adding sweatshirts and using designs we may have already created (other than summer designs). I am assuming for tshirts we dont have the issue with printing as the material is not as thick. Thank you again for your guidance and all the effort you put into your videos.
I don't really understand hex codes. I'll try to look it up on your channel. I love your videos and your start up guide. I'm very close to having my shop up and running
Hi Casey, I am having a hell of a time with printifys dtg. My printers all have a 9.5+ review on printify. All of my samples don't even last 3 washes before the ink on the graphic starts flaking and cracking. Do you know how to prevent this? I think it's a garment pretreatment issues. But it's happening on every sample I get. Have you done any wash test videos?
I can change the color of the writing in Canva for new items. I don't see a way to change the print color in Printify. Is doubling up after it is in Printify the only way to change shirts that have already been posted?
Yes if it's already uploaded to Printify, then you have the option of doubling the image, or reupload the design in an off-white hex code instead. HOWEVER I will say that most times, people don't mind it the way I showed without doubling or doing the off-white. So I'd recommend making this change going forward, and not spending hours going back and fixing old designs.
I ordered a sample from Printify and the colors that printed were not the same as what I used to design the image. A color on the shirt that was a muted brick red came out more pumpkin orange. Now I debate every design whether it will print correctly or not.
Printify! Thank you for producing such a helpful and thorough video! Every question I could have possibly asked you covered which is wonderful. Thanks again!

What a cool story!! And yes a great example of why I made this video
PRINTIFY! - Thank you again for a great video! You've helped my brand new POD business so much. Very grateful for your content!
I’m so glad I get to help you start your journey with POD!! Wishing you all the best!! ❤️
You're welcome!! So glad this was helpful for you!!
PRINTIFY, for sure! ❤ Thank you Cassiy!
So glad you enjoyed this video!! Thanks for watching!! ❤️
Printfy, past 2 days I've been wondering how to do the white print on black fabric. Wow thank you🙏
Perfect timing then, so glad this tutorial was helpful for you!!
Hi! Been following for only a week or so, and I can't tell you how grateful I am for this video!! ❤
I'm so glad this video was valuable for you, Beth!! Thanks for watching!
Good afternoon , how do you use the hex codes??
I am so so glad you found my channel and that you are getting value
This is an epic Tip/Hack/Trick to improve the quality of our products! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! and blessings! 🙌🙏😀
You are so welcome!! Wishing you all the best!
OHHHHH MYYYYY GOOOOOOODNESS! You just blew my mind!!! I've been doing POD for years and didnt know this! smh
Happy to help! There's always more to learn!
Welcome to my channel and to POD, congrats on getting started and I am so glad you are here
Printify.
Personally, I think the doubled-up white really makes the print pop. Thanks so much! I'm learning so quickly from you. Now, if I can just get my bank to get it's thumb out, I can get things rolling!
So glad my videos have been helpful for you!! Congrats on getting started!!
Printify! This is so great Cassiy, I love that you've given us such a thorough overview on this!
Man, so glad I saw this early on when I only had on white text design on my shop to fix. Thanks!!!
this is greta information, i just assumed i had to deal with the kind of vintage looking white print.
So glad this was helpful for you! Thanks for watching!
Hi Cassiy, could you make video on the best font colors to use on which colors of t shirts?
Thank you so much Cassy !! You are helping me!! I’m new to all of this! I Thank God you came up on my feed!!
I’m so glad my videos have been helpful for you!! I am cheering you on!! ❤️
PRINTIFY!! I really appreciate you Cassiy for all the useful information you provide us with. Your channel really has the best print on demand information out there. Your knowledge is so valuable thank you for sharing it!
That's so sweet!
Thank you so much for doing this test! So helpful!
PRINTIFY!!!! Cassidy this is an INCREDIBLY helpful video. Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness this is exactly what I was needing to learn about - thank you Cassiy!!
Printify...you are a blessing sharing this info!!!
So glad this tutorial was helpful for you! Thanks for watching!
This is very helpful, I have complaints about printing white designs into forest green shirts.
So glad this was helpful for you!! Thanks for commenting
Your Great! Thank You! Still learning but getting a better understanding.
I hope this video was so helpful as you learn more and more about print on demand! Thanks for watching!
I had a thought that in order to see what ink colors show up the best on white and black shirts was to create a design of the alphabet on both a black and white shirt and then do every single letter a different color. I think this might be helpful for beginners just to see which colors show up best on black and white. What do you think is that a good idea for people to do?
Printify! Awesome comparison, thank you!
I hope this was super helpful!! Thanks for watching!
Printify
love you , for sharing all your knowledge and skills with us.
Printify - Thanks Cassiy for all the tips!
You're welcome, Michelle! So glad you found it helpful and thanks for watching!
Printify. Cassidy you rock at what you do, how you explain things. I'm glad I found you early in my pod development
Hi Cassiy! Do you think if I put a white underneath a colored print that it would print better/brighter? Or would you recommend doubling up the colored print itself? I have a print in particular that keeps showing up faded
Cassiy has really cool spelling of her name and is hated by gatekeepers. Thank you
Thank you so much for all this info Cassiy! Sharing this helps so much, you really have no idea!
Printify I’m loving your videos. I’ve learned so much in just a few days just by watching your channel thank you so much
So glad you liked it, thanks for watching!!
Super insightful! I had heard about this issue from POD Facebook groups, but never actually seen a comparison. Thank you, so helpful!! ~Mel
SO glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching Mel!
Cassiy, I just cannot thank you enough ❤

Printify! Thanks Cassiy for your quality videos!
Really appreciate your material and advice! Thank You for making these videos on POD on RUclips! It's been super helpful! I liked and subbed!
So glad my videos have been helpful for you!! Thanks for watching!!
Printify. I always watch your videos the whole way! Brilliant information again.
Hi Cassiy - I just started my Etsy shop a few weeks ago and found you about a week ago. I’ve been binge watching your videos - they are so incredibly helpful! Thank you for being so generous with the info you share. I’m wondering if you might be opening a membership group or something similar soon?
So glad you are enjoying my content! I am currently working on creating a course that would have a mentorship/ongoing coaching included! I will keep everyone updated as it gets closer
@@CassiyJohnson Waiting for your coaching.
very helpful video for beginners. Thanks Cassiy
So glad it was helpful for you!! Thanks for watching!
Printify. Thanks for the information, I’m new to this and you’ve given me lots of good advice and tips.
So glad I have been able to make getting started easier for you!!
I learn so many things from you! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge.
Cassiy, you’re the best! Thank you.
You're so welcome!! Thanks for watching!
@@CassiyJohnson Good to know! Thank you!!! So much!
I love your videos! Just getting into Etsy and Printify and you've helped me out so much already. Keep doing these videos please, even when you think some information might be too much, because it's not.. it's so helpful
I'm so glad my videos have helped you!! Thanks for watching!
So glad I came across this video right after watching your guidance on adding sweatshirts and using designs we may have already created (other than summer designs). I am assuming for tshirts we dont have the issue with printing as the material is not as thick.
Thank you again for your guidance and all the effort you put into your videos.
printify! Cassiy, do you use these hex codes just on sweatshirts or on t-shirts as well? Thanks for such informative videos!!!
Both tshirts and sweatshirts!! I hope this video was super helpful for you!!
I don't really understand hex codes. I'll try to look it up on your channel. I love your videos and your start up guide. I'm very close to having my shop up and running
Thanks, Cassiy Very informative video, and how easy to explain us to solve this issue. love it. Thanks once again.
So glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!!
Amazing info Cassiy!! Thank you!!
You’re so welcome!! Thanks for watching!! ❤️
This is really handy information, thank you Cassiy
I am so glad this video was valuable to you! Thanks for watching!
I ordered a sample from Printify and the colors that printed were not the same as what I used to design the image. A color on the shirt that was a muted brick red came out more pumpkin orange. Now I debate every design whether it will print correctly or not.
Printify, loving it so far
So glad this tutorial was helpful for you!! :)
Printify! Thank you for producing such a helpful and thorough video! Every question I could have possibly asked you covered which is wonderful. Thanks again!
