„Emotional pain with GO! Billy Korean“ does have a nice ring to it
Need an "emotional pain" video 👍🏻🙋🏻♀️
I have to see if Hide the Pain Harold is available for a collab.
I understood this reference.@@GoBillyKorean
PLEASE do emotional pain. Discussing emotions is how to connect with people you trust on a deeper level. =D
Super useful video, thanks billy! i have a chronic autoimmune condition and i've always struggled to explain myself when i discuss it in korean and i'm definitely going to be able to articulate myself better going forward
Always so useful! Especially since never dictionary doesn't describe some of the words the way you do. I would love a video on emotional pain--it's so difficult to express!
빌리 선생님만큼 한국어를 잘 못 하니까 배가 아파요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 도움이 되는 영상을 주셔서 감사합니다!
고맙습니다! 선생님
정말 감사해요 가르침에.
나는 행복하다.

Would love to have one of these videos about words for emotional pain
Happy to meet you today, billy :)
Yes now I know how to express pain in english thank you for this video :)
Could you use 얼얼하다 to say that your foot fell asleep and is tingling? Or would that be a different thing?
What about migraine headache which very different from an ordinary headache? Also muscle spasms ? How would that be said?
For a migraine you can use 편두통. You can find any medical term in Naver Dictionary :)
with nouns for example: 두통, we use verb 있다? to have a headache?
Yep!
두통이 지끈지끈하다
In "목덜미가 뻐근하다", can I also say "목을 뻐근하다" if it's clear from context that I don't mean the throat?. I added the words to Anki and as always searched in the Naver dictionary and found the example sentence "잠을 잘 못 자서 목을 뻐근하다". I mean when you're stiff it's always the back of the neck, not the side or front, no?
Since these are descriptive verbs, you wouldn't use the object marker (을/를) since that's only used when using action verbs.
‘뻐근’ is adjective, so you‘d better not use ‘을’ or ‘를 ‘ after ‘목’ or ‘목덜미’.
Of course, even if u say so, koreans understand what you mean. But, ‘이’ or ‘가’ is more proper for the sentence.
‘뻐근하다’ is an expression used for muscle-related pain. So in that context, ‘목’ means not throat, but the backside neck.
Also, ‘목덜미’ literally means backside neck.
And meaning of korean may vary depending on the spacing.
For example, ‘잘 못 잤다.’ means ‘couldn't sleep well FOR VARIOUS REASONS.’, but ‘잘못 잤다.’ means ‘slept WRONG‘. kinda slept in bad posture or slept in wrong time.
To sum up, ‘잠을 잘못 자서 목이 뻐근하다.(=I have a ache on my backside neck bcuz I slept in bad posture.)’ would be the best form of that sentence.
