  • OK guys...we all in? This is the video where we will compare our results after 3 weeks of using the Ordinary Skin Care line. I don't know about you guys, but I added 2 more products to the list to test...the Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%5 products and the Ordinary Buffet. So with 7 products and 3 weeks, I am pretty sure we'll be able to figure out if the Ordinary Skin Care line is just hype or if it works.
What is Ordinary anyways? As per the Ordinary website..."The Ordinary is an evolving collection of treatments offering familiar, effective clinical technologies positioned to raise pricing and communication integrity in skincare. The brand was born to "disallow commodity to be disguised as ingenuity."
I have Amazon Affiliate Links for all Ordinary Products tested in this video, in case you want to take part in our next Skin Care Challenge. Check out the links below.

Wrote that before the end!!! I just don’t think 3 weeks is enough time?!? Idk?!?! I just don’t think a lifetime of damage can be fixed in 3 weeks, but again.... I don’t know!!!!! I’m not giving up going to continue.... it can hurt.. can it?!!!! As you might have noticed haven’t tried everything else yet!! But continue with the search!! Counting on you!!! Love you

even prescription vitamin a takes a year for results, ive been using buffet for a good year and i think it works, takes time, but the cost is so good, its not hard keeping some faves from the ordinary line.

Oh Sherry I can’t wait!!! I do leave it on 15 sometimes 20 minutes!! Just cause I’m that girl!!! It haven’t seen it make any difference as far as leaving it on longer?!?!? (The vampire blood) Going to get the other products!! Like you really wanting the Niacinamide especially!!! I’m just wandering if it’s too many products?? Idk?!?! I just want the magic potion to fix my old wrinkled, large pore, sun damaged skin!!! Damn it...is that too much too ask😜

I've been using ordinary products for a month now? ish?? I started out with .2% retinol, then I switched to 1%. That was the game changer for me. I use it every night with the 100% cold press rose hip seed oil. With retinol, even the prescription tretinoin, it can take some time for the effects to truly show. Keep at it with the ordinary! Perhaps switch up to the retinol in squalene 1% :) Thank you so much for putting these videos out! I love watching them! 💕😊
Edit to add: I looked up the ROC and it actually has 1% retinol!! Ha! That's amazing!! NO wonder why you love the Rock.. eh hem.. I mean the ROC 🤣

J Patrick - So sorry I’m so completely behind on my responses. To be honest...I’ve been playing Animal Crossing on the Switch and I am seriously losing track of time and days :) So happy Ordinary is working for you...I love it. As you know...I did end up trying it for a total of 6 weeks. And while I saw some significant changes after the first 2 weeks...it was like everything came to a stand still during the last 4 weeks. It was like Ordinary said, “We give up...we’ve done all we can do” :) But again...so glad it is working for you...keep it up and keep me posted. I will for sure be trying out more RoC products soon, so keep an eye out for that :)

Hello Friend!! I've had all the products you're using. But...I don't use all them together like you did. I also use my "vampire blood" 3 times a week. I could tell a difference on you. You're for head wrinkles... Was 💯% improved. It was noticeable. On you "cat scratch" side....two of those were lighter. Your skin looks smoother as well. I will say this....we've spent a life time damaging our skin. Its gonna take longer (sometimes less/more) than 3-4 weeks for it to disappear... Or fade. For me...it works. I was using all this in October last year...so I've had a little more time. Don't put so much pressure on it working so quickly. I feel like it would be fun ( because it is affordable) to do it maybe for 6 months. We all test it...& do updates (like this video). 🤷 love you my friend💟💟

Christi Rowland - Ok...ok...you made me feel a little better about it. I do agree...my forehead does look smoother, but not gonna lie (and I know I did put a lot of pressure on the products)...I was hoping to see more. I actually gave all my left overs to a gal and work...so I’m in to the next “miracle in a jar”. But I like your idea, so maybe in a while...we can revisit Ordinary again :)

I exactly understand the "I DON"T KNOW WHAT to DO?" frustration!!! I didn't do this with y'all as I was in the middle of my own lil 8 week test on Frownies (not sure if you've heard of them or not, am curious of your thoughts) and now am like, do I have to do this everyday for 6 months....Probably, I guess!! I wish these companies would maybe be a little more honest and say 3 months or 6 months, not a few week!! Neutrogena, grrrr. Don't they don't they know how much we get our hopes up!!! I digress :-) As far as this ordinary challenge. I think it's a lot of products everyday to see that little of a difference, I didn't see much of one from your pics :-( sorry. I think you gave it more than a fair chance girl!!! Excited to see the next challenge!!

    • @ThisisRealLifeWithSheri

Ang Tiegs - I haven’t heard of Frownies...how’s your test going? Are you seeing anything? And I know...I feel you and am shaking my head as I write you back...why is it so hard for these companies to just say what they mean. Even if they say...”Hey, it’s going to take you a lifetime before you see any results” that would be better than what they promising now. At least our hopes would be set real low, which would make us even that much more happy when we did see results in a couple of weeks.

Happy Saturday! :-) I'm 43 and my biggest problem is the "11s", they're deep.. If the test helps the rest of my forehead great too! The test is going good I think, I did take a before pic, like your always do ;-) And after the 3rd or 4th week Ive seen improvement. (every night put them on and sleep with them til morning.) However now i am about to start week 11and hmm ????? Do I go to the once a week like the others after 3 months, oh wait lol I have 2 weeks to go til that. Maybe a miracle will happen. I think the problem to is without makeup is one thing, they look better.... when you put makeup on, creases etc... Sorry for the book, have a great weekend :-)

I’m with you in this one Sheri. Tried it all and it really didn’t make any difference and you’re right that it doesn’t smell but actually it does smell, and not in a nice way (which frankly is a deterrent to using it). I know what you mean about the “balling” issue after a few hours too. It’s the same with that Prai Neck & Décolleté cream - after a few hours you can kind of rub it off in little balls. Eww. However, your 2 week trial worked so maybe the answer is it works - but only to a point. So really it’s a 👎🏻 Glad you did this though Sheri, it really pushed me to try it otherwise I would have always wondered. (You know the founder of The Ordinary products was murdered right? How awful is that.) (Probably by a disgruntled anti-wrinkle-seeking woman 😠)

Okay, so I feel kind of bad about this, but I did try! Our Ulta doesn't carry 'The Ordinary' products and I went to Sephora and they offer them 'online only', so I didn't get them! Instead, I have been giving the 'Andalou' a go! I liked the night cream so well, that I went back (I found it discounted at Marshall's) and got the day cream! I've also been using a niacinamide eye gel underneath my eyes and on my 11's! I can't really tell if it is diminishing any fine lines or wrinkles, but my skin does feel softer and more hydrated! There are a couple of other beauty stores on the other side of town, so if I get over there and they have 'The Ordinary'', I may try the 'Buffet' and the Vampire blood!

1 . If your over 30 stop cleansing 2 twice a day ! .Only at night . As we age our skin gets drier which we all know produces wrinkles and more awful junk things .
    2. Mornings just moisturizer and serums and SPF above 30
    3. At night start with an oil cleanser . Then a hydrating cleanser to remove spf and makeup for at least 45 seconds to a minute small circles gentle no less than 30 seconds ( some people have never been taught this it’s HIGHLY IMPORTANT) . So basically your double cleansing it’s magical .
I’m 46 I have zerooooooooo wrinkles . Bright skin . RULES I LIVE BY ... NO SMOKING , I don’t tan my face ever . Once in a while I’ll go in the sun with a big hat and spf . I wear sunscreen everyday even if it’s cloudy , winter , 365 days ! And Moisturize if you can just do this ......... f those expensive products . Your skin will look like glass .

Blu Skiez - All of these skin care tips are great! Thank you so much for sharing them. Unfortunately...I am testing a ton of different products and their claims...so I really need to follow the instructions provided...which sometimes means washing my face every morning and every night. Thankfully, I don't feel like my skin is super dry and I do do my best to keep it extra moisturized. I am going to try to change up a few things as far as my "rules to live by" go in 2021...so hopefully I will be able to slow down the hands of time even more.

@@ThisisRealLifeWithSheri But Sherri this could be hurting your skin . Your a super lovely person I love all your videos . The problem with cosmetics and beauty products ... shampoos etc ... is the FDA does not regulate claims on the ingredients. So basically they are allowed to lie if they want . I knowww I know bad ! So dermatologist are they only ones to rely on . The ingredients are the most IMPORTANT ! Since they are not regulated ... some cosmetics have feces in them ...and the fda can’t regulate them . Car battery acid in skin care ... yup . I do see a dermatologist often just keep up with skin . It’s improved my skin dramatically not just a little dramatically . Just be careful xoxo happy new year Sherri . Sending lots of love 💕.

Sherry! There's a large graph on The Ordinary's website that shows what not to mix with what. Please check that since you're using so many active products :))) Good Luck! (biochemist here). For example, don't use Buffet + Copper Peptides with acids, Vit C or strong antioxidants ;) . I'd call the company, or text or message them - I think they're on FB too, and see what goes on first? I think the granactive goes on first? I could be wrong, I'd ask them, they're the experts. Been a long time since I was at the university ;)
Just fyi, your skin isn't made of one thing, right? Copper is catalyzer, that means it helps other things work but your skin isn't made out of pennies, right? Pennies are copper :) That's why we need lots of things 💕💕💕

My thoughts on your B& A were the same as yours. Except in your actual video, not pics, your forehead seems softer.

Marla Garner - I agree...I do think my forehead did look much smoother. But overall...it was kinda a miss for me.

Thea Thea - You're too funny. I have put Cera Ve on the list. What, exactly, should I try?

@@ThisisRealLifeWithSheri cleanse your skin..do not dry skin slather on Cera Ve moistuizer with hyaluronic and cerimides... you can can get the cream the purple line... night cream. Let it dry... then apply the retinol or retinoid...Retinol only at night. In the day time wear the Cera Ve and a sunscreen. My favorite is the calming one by Neutrogena. You'll thank me tomorrow when you apply your moisturizer on wet skin...just not the retinoid.

    I. Have a feeling you smoke Sherri , tan , no sunscreen I’m I right ? When I stopped all those things in my late 30s I saw a giant change in my skin . If we’re you I would go to a really good dermatologist in your area to start .... I would def recommend IPL treatment first once a year or every 6 m . Start there ... the products are just to keep great texture and moisture . Save some money and time this way . Hang in there girl be patient .

Blu Skiez - You pretty much hit the nail on the head. I have loved the sun since I was a kid...and still do. And sunscreen is not a part of my daily life. I love summer and I love my pool...laying out in the sun with a nice cocktail is my favorite thing in the whole wide world. I know its not great...and I know I shouldn't do it...but it's something that brings me joy.
