    Some bad footage showing the Monaro as LH drive. Not correct. Number plates and engine size script back to front.Get it right.

    Absolute rubbish production, commentator has no idea what he is talking about, car has NZ registration and mirror images don’t do anything for the quality of the video. I turned off after the first minute.

    For the people who want a larger motor 434 or bigger . Keep strokin it u will need alot more than a stock block and way more money . A 400 is the perfect size for a quality build .

    XR GT Falcon was Australia 's first Muscle Car and demolished everyone at Bathurst 1967 . Monaro 327 was introduced to keep up with Ford . XT GT Falcon was outgunned by 327 Monaro in 1968 Bathurst and won Holden's first Bathurst . XW GT HO would slaughter a HT 350 Monaro . HT 350 Monaro won Bathurst because Ford ordered Soft Sprint Tyres instead of hard endurance Tyres and had to Pit every 10 Laps for New Tyres . Ford gave Monaro 1969 Bathurst on a Plate .Only 700 HT 350 Monaros were built , the rest were shitheap 307 Automatics or even worse 186 and 161 Six cylinder Garbage . Falcon GT was only ever the Top tier Falcon . An XY GT HO cost $ 5,200 in 1971 , 300 built , maybe 50 left , today worth up to $ 1 Million .I'm certainly not knocking the 350 Monaro, I owned one , they're great but you make them sound like World Beaters which is nonsense .They rode like a Truck , the Brakes were useless , that wonderful Steering Wheel would cut your Hands to Ribbons and the Vinyl Bucket Seats would Cook your Arse in Summer and let you slide into the passenger seat on right turns . But it was nice looking I must admit .

      @@ChrisM-fz6xx thanks for your feedback and experience on those seats…. it’s with current cars too in summer. I always sweat on those.

      The Monaros also cornered better. The falcon gt was a house brick.

    Was good seeing the classic boot pop from the rear axle tramp! Happened as soon as you got to 400 hp without fitting tramp rod's! Lol'd when he said the brakes were ok, he's obviously never driven one! 3 bigs stop's and the the brake fluid was boiling and the pedal was mush!
    Thought you would know the the difference between the HT HK & HG! You showed all 3 dashes! This is what happens when you write a script from other people's work not knowing it yourself

    The 350 was mild performance only . As far as saying leaf spring better than coil spring u need to experience this b4 u comment . Yes u could even order power steering back then ...In the following HQ model the vehicle was a far better handling and stopping car but Holden and GMUsa had changed there mind and selected smaller Torana as the racing vehicle . Vented discs as a racing part even appeared on Torana .

    GMH’s greed ruined the Monaro by supplying them with any size motor
    You could have one with a 186 …
    Whereas the ford GT was 351 only and had limited numbers
    The GTS was made in larger numbers and never kept as a special model

      Not everyone wanted a 300hp monster with four speed manual transmission, a heavy clutch, rock hard suspension and no power steering. Monaros sold well because of their almost endless configurations. It wasn't greed - it was clever marketing.

      you could order a monaro , a monaro GTS , or a GTS 350 . 81837 showed on the I.D. plate as a seperate model

      For some reason a lot of the shots are reversed. A LHD Monaro definitely doesn’t look right and isn’t. I liked the reference to dual headlights showing it definitely had two.

    • @raymondwelsh6028
      @raymondwelsh6028 14 дней назад

      Most likely the reverse shots are so a computer looking for copyrighted infringements has difficulty finding them. Or possibly the Americans can’t understand that we drive on the left. Besides that great video apart from the American accent and some of the cringeworthy terminology used.🇦🇺
