Seriously speechless, this is just a pure masterpiece. I even managed to learn a few things regarding cosplay detailing. Thank you for this epic video.
The only problem with that is that it moves to weightlessly if you try this in film often times it ends up looking weird because of the way it can be moved too quickly in order to properly do it you'd have to train each actor to act as if the object was more cumbersome then it was meaning a lot of retakes
You guys... oh man. You are the reason I want to get into sculpture. Your amount of sheer creativity is amazing, and everything you make looks like it was stolen off of a movie set (in a good way). I want to become as talented as you one day. I know this is stretching a tad, but you are my role-model. Build on.
Great work Harrison...as always, I have to say. You are getting better and better each time...which I actually imagine quite difficult, as you already started at a very high level
Omg! I need to learn everything you did in this video!! I've been wanting to make stuff like that for years but just never know exactly what to look up! Please help!
he basically makes a skeleton out of wood and then builds it up with foam, then he sculpts it using (i think) epoxy, then adds in detail work (with epoxy or clay) and then covers it in silicone and then over the silicone uses something that is more rigid, he takes out the model puts the silicone mould in and the armour of the mould ( the hard bit) and then puts in a 2 part resin into the mould and voila. watch the drunk slush casting tutorial.
That was pretty incredible! I follow your Flickr but this was documented really well. It's awesome watching you turn all of those raw materials into a work of art, Awesome job man!
Unbelievable. It's so much work! I could never do it but I really admire your patients and tremendous skill! Thank you for letting us share in your process!
The kings would be really proud of you if you were a blacksmith in their kingdom and the Dovahkiin would wear your armor proudly.GodDamn it mate...you are freaking awesome!!
ONE WORD: AMAZING! You should really try to make a full cosplay and try to get in Gamescom or any other cosplay/costume contest. You really have an amazing talent, keep it up!
Same thing, chemically. The blue tint is just the Lowe's brand they carry. It's actually minutely denser than the pink foam, but they're both extruded polystyrene. The black "sealer" I used was cheap acrylic paint.
At about 2:20, you see him pouring liquid into the mould. He's not going to fill it up completely, instead he would slowly rotate the mould around so that the liquid would fill all the crevices before it solidifies. He would then build up layers doing the same method until the helmet is the desired thickness. Basically he made a cast of the outside of his sculpted helmet and once removed it created negative space, with just the design imprinted in the mould.
I wish I was in your area. I would intern for free. I wouldn't care if all I did was be a go-fer. I just want to be around when you build stuff like this, it's quite literally awe-inspiring.
just saw a 4 minute speed building of on kotaku I want this helmet....do you sell them? I have to say I loved alot of stuff in skyrim but the ancient nord gear combined with helm of Yngol just felt so badass.....if you do sell these let me know and how much you sell em for because seriously I dont think I could just wear this on halloween hahaha its 2 cool for once a year wear.....anyway excellent work
@2:30 im curious as to what is going on, did he take the base form, and cast it..? and if he did. does doe he keep/make it hollow? (iirc that if it's a mold, you'd have to fill it to the brim, allow no hollow sections?) Educate me please
Very well done. Would be great if you guys can do like replica knight helmets, chain mail, padded armor, middle eastern of chinese scalar armor. It will be interesting to see history come back to life
Absolutely amazing video. I've loved following you since I found out about you after the Daft Punk helmets. Also is that a BMW 2002 I saw? Looks like a beautiful car from what little I saw!
Ah the lowes near me only has blue foam so I just use that and cover it in shellac which doesnt have any weird chemical reactions with the foam. I'll keep this in mind next time i'm down there to see if they'll order it or something
not bad, now take this steel ingot to the workbench over there
Smithing increased level 100
that man's steel is legendary all i ask is a fair chance
Ebony is legendary

Seriously speechless, this is just a pure masterpiece. I even managed to learn a few things regarding cosplay detailing. Thank you for this epic video.
I can easily see you working for a film company Actors wouldn't want to wear heavy steel stuff this is awesome
The only problem with that is that it moves to weightlessly if you try this in film often times it ends up looking weird because of the way it can be moved too quickly in order to properly do it you'd have to train each actor to act as if the object was more cumbersome then it was meaning a lot of retakes
I will never understand how people dislike videos like this. Amazing work!

Ancient Nord armor is in my opinion the coolest and best armor in the game.

I love you for taking the time to make these amazing things, no homo. But seriously, I love you.
Absolutely astounding! Great work!
AMAZING work, my friend, just amazing!
You sir, are talented and gifted! Great job!!
I wanted to be able to tailor the damage on each individual casting - some could be more cut up, others could be cleaner.
That's a polyester resin filler made by Evercoat called "Rage GOLD" - it's similar to Bondo brand automotive filler but lighter and easier to sand.
that is amazing the detail is absolutely superb
Amazing work!! Your skill is remarkable!
That's AWESOME!!!!!! Any way you could do a walkthrough of you workshop and show us what tools you're using?
I'll try, but it is a huge undertaking to film and edit the entire thing. They'll be sporadic, but I'll definitely do more.
@2:30 im curious as to what is going on, did he take the base form, and cast it..?
