From a Canadian point of view, I notice the Grendier guards have the same rifles with bayonets affixed but the Gurkhas cahe their Kirkari knives in their scabbard.

What is the purpose of the two captains marching back and forth so many times? I watched another Gurkha guard mount the other day and they must have crossed the square 10~15 times.

It is said that the tradition was introduced years ago as a practical way for the officer of the day to demonstrate to his men that he was sober by walking in a straight line.

If ex ghurka runs uk businesses i wonder how long would it be before the resentment set in as the British natives would struggle to keep up with the ghurkas high standards and strict work efficiency
