Great story. I took up piano 3 years ago and can now play Chopin Liszt and other classical pieces at age 58. I took violin when I was 8 to 10 and never could do verbato. I recently took out my violin and started to practice and today for first time I vibrated. It was not great verbato but it is a start and I believe your lesson helped. Please keep it going! Thank you.
Mr. Fitzpatrick, I am so impressed and delighted watching your videos. I have watched millions,(I exaggerate) of videos on how to vibrate but , to no avail. Thank you for taking your valuable time and helping others realize their dream of playing the violin.

So professor, last time I wrote to you, I told you that I will give this new technique a try. Well I did and.... GOT SUCCESS !!! now I can do vertical vibrato with much ease. And of course I have also graduated from vertical vibrato to horizontal vibrato. I am still in the process of upgrading the latter. I need to work hard with horizontal vibrato. But it is surely coming but by bit. Thanks professor for giving me courage to proceed with vibrato. I have completed my first month with violin and mastered vertical vibrato and rudimentary horizontal vibrato. I think my progress Is satisfactory. What do you say professor? Oh one think I should admit, I learned violin for two years 30 years back and then left it completely. This time as I wrote you, I completed my first month. .

Such a lovely story of how you eventually got your vibrato - in your sleep! Surely at 10years old, you did not live by yourself? Did your parents or siblings or students in the dorm wake up from your perfect vibrato notes in the middle of the night? 🤔🤔 🎻❤
Imagine you sleep and in your dream you see that a combination of 6 numbers is going to win you a jackpot in the National Lottery (don't know if it still functions in the UK). You wake up still remembering the numbers and rush to the nearest terminal to place your bid. And then comes Saturday and you feel so excited! And... nothing happens - the "wrong numbers" are drawn. On the other hand if you wake up knowing how to vibrate and it doesn't work out in real life you can always repeat: "They say it doesn't happen overnight." - which is literally what it is :-)
Thank you for your input on this video - If you have any questions, please direct your them to our expert with the link in the description - Also, please feel free to check out the other videos that we have posted! Best of luck!
That's kind of cool, in a way. I've had many dreams that have brought very special things to simple fruition for me, but i can give an example of one time when it was a very, very bad thing. I was a competitive swimmer for 14 years. I swam before school, during school lunch and after school.. and I had a pool at home. I was basically living under the water 24/7. I became a very proficient "Butterflier" (nobody wanted to do it, so my coach made me do it until I ended up loving it)... anyway, often times my dreams involved water. "LIfe" underwater, so to speak. I would dream about everything that you could or would do in a day... only 'underwater' .. these dreams became a huge part of my life as they seemed to make me an even more proficient swimmer as I was just so comfortable: Under the Water. Well, one night I had a dream (inevitably) that I could "breathe" underwater. It had to happen, right? I mean, what better way to become an even better swimmer than to NEVER have to come up for air? Well, I woke up believing I could breath under water, jumped up out of bed and straight into my backyard swimming pool and proceeded to take a HUMONGOUS breath... 'underwater' Needless to say, not only did I look at my dreams differently, I also made sure that I continued to practice my strokes with my intermittent breathing techniques "above" water.....

I think that's the best method, starting with only few movements. It's like starting with push ups: I'm not gonna do 20 of them the first day. The job on the finger board is very hard for the hand. It takes time but fortunately I have vibratophobia since I was a child. I even refused to start on the violin at age 13 although I loved Handel. But I was ready to do it at age 40 when I realized that you don't need vibrato in ancient music. So now I play violin and love it. But violin vibrato still scares me away. Not the vibrato of wind instruments. I just can't stand a vibrating violin.

Prof. Fitzpatrick, each time I listen to this specific RUclips, I want to share this with you and now I am going to! How you said that you dreamt about how to vibrate, woke up and how you got your violin case out under the bed and did play a perfect vibrato for the very first time? Here is what I have been wanting to say for many years: Read Ps 127:2. I think it is exactly what happened. God gave the ability for you to vibrate while you slept!
Glad to know that Eugenie! We'll let Prof. Fitzpatrick know about it. If you wish to get in touch directly with him, please, post your questions to this videos' dedicated page below: www.virtualsheetmusic.com/experts/william/just-vibrato/ Prof. Fitzpatrick will answer you right away.

JM Ministry they don't actually respond to any questions or comments they paste in the exact same response for anything asked by anyone. it's kind of silly to even respond saying anything when they have no intention to actually respond with any sort of helpful response.
Yes, that's usually not advisable because implies a wrong position of the whole right arm. This video can help to understand how to bend the wrist (a really minimum and natural bent!) ruclips.net/video/A7dv-YzV8a8/видео.html
Can't recall the exact examples, maybe one of the benzene ring, the chemist saw monkeys in his dream, creating a circle holding one another's tail... But there are many examples when someone is obsessed with a problem, and the solution comes in a dream... Need pencil paper ( or violin) at the bedside, though, because by the morning these enlightened moments disintegrate in thin air...

Professor I will give this new technique a try. I am an adult beginner and vibrato is difficult to me. Hope your technique would work for me. Thanks.

Thank you

stephanie ther, its meditation by jules massenet
If you wish to get in touch directly with him, please, post your questions to this videos' dedicated page below:

Prof. Fitzpatrick will answer you right away.
For vibrato - you can tell you students to pretend you hand and fingers is made out of rubber and you use your wrist to squeeze the rubber hand.

JM Ministry they don't actually respond to any questions or comments they paste in the exact same response for anything asked by anyone. it's kind of silly to even respond saying anything when they have no intention to actually respond with any sort of helpful response.
Me: ima go try hard on the vibrato
Pinky: ima destroy this try hards career!
Is it all right to bend the wrist towards us? It makes it easier to play. But I wonder why this method is discouraged by many teachers online?
Yes, that's usually not advisable because implies a wrong position of the whole right arm. This video can help to understand how to bend the wrist (a really minimum and natural bent!) ruclips.net/video/A7dv-YzV8a8/видео.html
I would’ve listened to the whole Thais....
That’s what she said
Hey guys ! What is the name of thesong at the end ??
It's the Meditation from Thais by Massenet: www.virtualsheetmusic.com/score/Meditation.html
Thank you so much sir !
I really enjoyed the video, you are a great teacher !
You are most than welcome!
💓💓💓✊😁💓✊😁👍👍👍👍👍👍
I thought this was a lesson, but it’s a story
Extremely obsessive, Amen.
Much blather
