@@AirTrafficVisualised lucky its built on mostly reclaimed mangrove marsh right on the bay, even a km or 2 inland and it probably would have been able to take shipping cargo instead of air cargo lol
It wasn't a true "rain bomb" like the actual meteorological phenomenon, which is where a massive volume of water is dropped over a very small area very rapidly (ive seen videos of one that hit in QLD not far from here, looks like a water balloon bursting). But just a massive East Coast low system that just sat there for days. We got over 1000mm in one day in my suburb just a bit to the north of the airport. It was the worst flooding event in recorded history, even worse than the famous 1974, 2011 and 2013 floods which were classed as once in a hundred year events lol. But you build a city on a swamp and a flood plain then that's what you get I suppose lol.
This video quality is so good. The music, the rain noises, the ATC comms, the visuals. Soooooo good. Thanks for the amazing video!
Cheers!
Working at an airport in harsh conditions must be a frightening moment, especially in flight & working in the tower
Fantastic, as always!
Did any planes divert to like Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast?
Whats the music that you use? An amazing video again

Moist fetch from the ocean hitting the seabreeze/landbreeze front = non stop thunderstorms until the front finally mixes out.
Why were they only using one runway?

ı can not understand how do you make these animations
It's magic. ;) Oh, and a whole lot of talent. I am always amazed at the content produced on this channel.
probably hooks sprites to ads-b data to determine sprite location and aircraft heading
Is a 'rain bomb' similar to a microburst? Or was it just a whole lot of rain over a wide area?
"Rain bomb" isn't referring to a specific meteorological phenomenon, it's what the weather system was dubbed.

wow the music and the graphics, just look like a sim game
Thanks Lena, the music is original (as are the graphics). Glad you're enjoying the videos!
Give it a few days and you'll probably have enough content for a Sydney vid as well.
