Hello once again, Mr. Totally tubular, Jonathan. As I keep watching your videos I am becoming more interested and more invested in gaming, it makes me want to just go ahead and try as many games as possible and also enjoy them as much as possible just like you do. I listened couple days ago the entire 3 hour review of all the Assassins creed games (minus mirage) and I almost couldn't believe that a review as comprehensive as this can exist. I am kinda of a gamer, I finished somewhere around 100 solo campaign video games since I buy a PS4 in 2015 but finding your channel I realize that I have barely scratch the surface. Also since I wrote this message I would like to end by beg you just consider ranking the modern PS exclusives or maybe the modern games published by SIE, thanks in advance ,have a nice Christmas, peace
Modern PS exclusives hmmm. Well when I was working with SIE I certainly couldnt but since I dont anymore I think I could do that! I have played almost all of them. I am assuming you are talking about PS5 games as well. In terms of PS4 games I am missing a lot. But I will seriously bump this up the priority list because its for you! Miiiight wait for Helldivers 2 though. Depends how busy I get. Every First Party PS5 game though, its going to get done
@TotallyTubularJonathan Basically, what I care most about are Knack 2, Last of Us 2 + remake, God of War 2018, and Ragnarok, maybe Gran Turismo 7, Days Gone, maybe Spiderman, just SIE 2018 onwards or something. I know some of them are extremely different from each other, so it would be even kinda weird to rank them together. In any case, I notice you already have done Uncharted 4, both Horizon Games, Killzone SF, and a bunch of other SIE published, so I just took the opportunity to throw in that recommendation. Thanks for even considering this, though, and hopefully, it is something that you would be interested in doing someday whenever.
Gotcha, I can do the SIE PS5 games sooner but I will be planning a PS4 SIE list as well. Its gonna take awhile for that though, I havent played a lot of those games such as Knack 2 and Infamous Second Son. But I will try to get to them when I can. Lately I am just completely overwhelmed by new games. Truly a time to be alive

I definitely don't agree with Odyssey being the lowest. I really enjoyed the setting and the combat was pretty fun. I haven't played Mirage yet but I like it better than Origins and Valhalla. I have played every single AC game and I genuinely enjoyed Odyssey.
All three are huge grinds for sure but Valhalla is the worst. Plus a lot of these side quests were great. I felt like a god and there were quite a few good build options.
Sorry but i can't agree with this review. He said he took 70 hours to finish main storyline of Valhalla. In that much time on Odyssey, I've finished the main story, unlocked Atlantis, covered almost the entire map and finished the Blade DLC. Plus the side missions are so much fun, I felt outranked maybe twice during the whole time. Best game I've ever played
Nah fam, odyssey was pretty much like he said. If you finished it that quickly then good for you, but for me the game was a step in the wrong direction. Just too much RPG elements for my liking. And I didn’t really like the level scaling at all tbh. Cycling through endless non matching armor sets was so unnecessary. It really wasn’t even an assassins creed game either. The only good thing I can say about odyssey is the map and setting was one of the best in the series. Other than that it’s pretty much the weakest in the series

I thought the setting was amazing. The game ran perfectly for me on ps5. Also, any time there was a secret, it had a rewarding op item instead of being a waste of time like the other ac games.
i think the odyssey criticism is definitely deserved, but honestly i don't think it's entirely a negative? like i love odyssey because it's an aesthetically pleasing game, i can grind/explore at my own pace, one of those games where i sort of crave something that's slow and repetitive but still engaging. i think there's an audience for that, otherwise odyssey wouldn't be doing that well :) (just my take on it)

So...not having played Mirage I can't comment about about that,got into the AC series at origins and yup it's good but Odyssey is my favourite. Blame my love for Greek Mythology..total disclosure my favourite Diablo clone is Titan Quest,more so than Diablo 3. I'm lucky I guess,I've got no time limit on what I can play so grinding isn't an issue, yes it's not alwas fun or interesting however I'm not paying to advance in a game I've already payed for, keep up the good work 👍
Valhalla is great. And It's not meant to be played in 2 weeks straight like a job (like you do) . In that game there is content for months. I was so invested whole 200 hours I put to my walkthrough which included lots of side content too and didnt want it to end. So bought a DLCs! Im tired of hearing You Tubers who rushes through all games just to get review out on time, complaining about its lenght. Play Skyrim or Elder Ring... Valhalla is rpg like them.
How to fix the pay to win elements in these modern games: Cheat Engine, you can give yourself all the store boosts for free, not even 1 cent for those greedy mfs
My opinion Valhalla is the best from the modern day assassins creed’s it has the best dlcs out of them all and there is so much to do more for your money aswell, the gameplay is the best and overall customisation is the best iv seen

Mostly agree with this video except for one thing, mirage is not like the older assassins creed games, at least when it comes to open combat. It was definitely a stealth focused game because getting into open combat felt like a death sentence. No chain killing in this game, it felt like the other slash and dodge games in the series but it was actually much worse. Albeit the game clearly states that basin isn’t an experienced fighter and that makes sense but open combat was not very fun at all. The older games had much more satisfying combat imo
Listen bro, I am revisiting some of the older assassin's Creed games now with a gaming PC instead of stupid PS4 lol while I am also playing mirage on PS5. Ofc on PC all those games look incredible and they run mostly just fine in the current day. Also I am getting the chance to play the only main AC game I didn't play which is Unity and to be honest I am quite impressed and it is a very very good looking game. I am also really liking Mirage just as much as Unity which are the two I play right now, it really feels like the older games with its simplicity and constant city setting. So my conclusion is that ironically the game that a lot of people regard as the greatest which is Odyssey, actually it might be the one that started AC's downfall and then the even worse Valhalla put the nail on the coffin. I think that even though a lot of people hated Unity back then probably because of the bags now I see that it's actually a pretty authentic AC game which is quite a lot within the parameters of the initial formula so in my opinion Unity should not be to blame. Mirage is in fact just more of the same so I am not sure if it's actually necessary for this game to exist but I would say at the very least it is much more enjoyable than any of the RPG AC games ever were for me personally. In my very very humble opinion a series is falling apart when it starts implementing things that had no place there in the first place. I mean Valhalla was the worst thing imaginable, once I arrived in "Asgard" via hallucinating drugs and started to fight some blue weird people then a giant wolf etc. That's when I thought to myself no, this ain't Assassin's Creed and that has nothing to do with what I was doing in earlier games.Thanks, God bless America ❤

Out of these games I platinum Valhalla but I haven't played any other of the modern one but I play it tow times, first on Xbox but I said before I platinum it on playstation.
The game started going downhill when they stopped caring about the story, the camera angles in the cutscenes are awkward, character voice actors arent quality sometimes, and they got rid of mo cap wth. i think after unity and a lil bit of origins they stopped caring about the story and started focusing on combat which i do enjoy the darksouls like combat but the games just felt like a reason to put out a combat game labeled as an assassins creed game.
My rank Origins- just for Bayek is worth playing through it Mirage- it's precise with what it is and works without bringing anything new Valhalla- the setting is good and the idea behind it but its way too long and buggy, might as well skip it Odissey- aside not being much of an Assassin's Creed, it's just too bloated and boring. Kassandra is good but not much else
I would rank these nearly the same but I would switch Valhalla and Odyssey. Odyssey put me off initially because there is such a slow start, you can't really do much around the world until you are like level 15 to 20. But once I got there, I started to get really sucked into all of the different quests. It can be kind of a pain in the ass because certain story quests seem to just end in a dead end and then you need to try and find something else that will actually progress it. But I found a lot of really interesting side quests that pulled me around the world, and it is absolutely gorgeous. When you run across an island that is more unique, because some of them are definitely pretty similar, that's always exciting, and I started to really enjoy more of the ship battles as well. It is one of those games though that could have totally ditched the Assassin's Creed title and just been this really neat open world RPG in ancient Greece. Then they could have leaned even more into the fantasy elements Valhalla I put last. Just because I don't find England as enticing to explore, the game does look gorgeous and I really like Norse mythology and Viking settings for things like games. However the story here is taking itself so seriously and there's so much of it that it's hard to really keep track of who's doing what and who I should care about. Eivor also isn't as charming and fun to play as compared to Kassandra But I would agree on mirage, it's nothing spectacular however it is a solid little open world game, it doesn't outstay its welcome and the setting is fun and reminiscent of old school assassins Creed. Basim is a little less interesting here but overall if you are just looking for the formula of researching and finding targets to assassinate in a classic setting, this does the job Origins blew me away. That was my favorite game of 2017 and one of my favorite games ever made. It did take me 60 hours just to beat the main story and there were regions of the map that I never even had been to yet, however I didn't find it outstaying its welcome or the pacing dragon, I just wanted more. The combat is a little more simplistic however I thought it was visceral and satisfying as well, Odyssey I wasn't a fan of because of the removal of the shield. But I love the setting, ancient Egypt is super enticing to go explore and there were a few moments like reaching Alexandria but panning around to the corner and seeing the pyramids off in the distance and then finally making your way to them and climbing to the top and sliding down and going inside and raiding the tombs I go back and forth between weather origins or Black Flag is my favorite in the franchise overall.
The only thing to long here is this video with how few of good games there is out there I’ll take all the side quests they will give me better than playing nothing witch is all the video game world has put out in years
Well let me tell you actually my favourite AC game is still syndicate even though most people don't particularly love it. I am someone who plays many many video games and so I am expecting some uniqueness from any single player game. Syndicate having an incredibly dense and diverse city like london which really gives an nearly infinite possibility for parkour and stealth made it unique.I was recently playing Valhalla just after finishing elden ring and while playing Nioh 2 at the same time I just couldn't believe how basic and generic in every aspect is Valhalla. I dropped it after 40 hours because I simply couldn't take anymore of how much that game drags or how stale and repetitive it can be. I've never played a video game more unnecessarily long than AC Valhalla and I have to say it just sucks!
W List but some major problems Parkour of mirage is mostly similar to Valhalla Combat of mirage is shittiter comaored to old ac games like ac 3 and unity Combat of Odyssey is bs damage spongy enemies Cutscenes have been dog shit in ac games since origins
I chose alexios idc what people say also male eivor is my choice and i didnt like playing as aya in origins because im a man and can relate to the mans story more and if i had the chance to play as aya in free roam or access the gesr and abilities bayek unlocks thst wouldve been perfect aya was abit of a bitch but bayek did stab their son so fair enough i suppose
I hate to agree about Odyssey, but i do. I liked playing it a lot, attention to details in buildings and such is insane, i liked clearing out castles, i liked the battles. But looking back at it, it's so shallow that it's painful, and it wouldn't be as noticeable if it weren't so god damn long. And even though i did enjoy playing it, it's actually the reason i didn't play Valhalla yet. I just can't make myself embark on something that's gonna be as long as Odyssey, unless it's gonna be some revolutionary groundbreaking game with insane story and gameplay, which from what i could gather, Valhalla is not.
Mirage is just mid and we're all so desperate we accept its midness/mediocre so much is missing cause "its like old AC" at face value no modern day, virtual mission, UI, progression system, and parkour is weaker cause valhalla system's are in the way of the game

i agree, odyssey isn't great but all the things he hates about it are present in valhalla and straight up worse, his placements make no sense

Syndicate having an incredibly dense and diverse city like london which really gives an nearly infinite possibility for parkour and stealth made it unique.I was recently playing Valhalla just after finishing elden ring and while playing Nioh 2 at the same time I just couldn't believe how basic and generic in every aspect is Valhalla. I dropped it after 40 hours because I simply couldn't take anymore of how much that game drags or how stale and repetitive it can be. I've never played a video game more unnecessarily long than AC Valhalla and I have to say it just sucks!
Valhalla not worth it? Not everyone sits on their ass playing games for a living. Some people just like to play casual, an hour here or there. SMH

I chose alexios idc what people say also male eivor is my choice and i didnt like playing as aya in origins because im a man and can relate to the mans story more and if i had the chance to play as aya in free roam or access the gesr and abilities bayek unlocks thst wouldve been perfect aya was abit of a bitch but bayek did stab their son so fair enough i suppose

I hate to agree about Odyssey, but i do. I liked playing it a lot, attention to details in buildings and such is insane, i liked clearing out castles, i liked the battles. But looking back at it, it's so shallow that it's painful, and it wouldn't be as noticeable if it weren't so god damn long.
And even though i did enjoy playing it, it's actually the reason i didn't play Valhalla yet. I just can't make myself embark on something that's gonna be as long as Odyssey, unless it's gonna be some revolutionary groundbreaking game with insane story and gameplay, which from what i could gather, Valhalla is not.

so much is missing cause "its like old AC" at face value
no modern day, virtual mission, UI, progression system, and parkour is weaker cause valhalla system's are in the way of the game
