the material the charcoal sat on is something called Refractory brick or Fire Brick. It is a heat resistant material that is easy to cut (it can be cut with a butter knife) and fairly inexpensive. It is also biodegradable and is often used for insulation of things such as kilns or fire pits. A rather neat and useful material if you think about it.

The grill reminds me of the time I went camping with a friend and we brought some nice steaks for dinner. We discovered that the fire pit on our site had no metal grill. Since we had hiked in a couple of miles to get there, we were not going to hike back out just for a grill,so we cut some sugar maple sticks and used those instead. Steaks came out great, along with the sweet corn we brought as sides.

What? It's vacuum sealed. That's not freezer burnt 😂. The steak looks like that from all the crap they added to the beef. Usually any steak from a freezer has those solutions that makes it look a certain way like that it's not fresh but frozen with added things to hold longer. I seen alot of steaks with that stuff in it make it look like that. It reminds me of dollar store steaks. Trust me I cook for a living and we get steaks sealed to. There all injected meats. I bet you that's it's injected because not many people can afford $20 so they add stuff to make steak last long time before sold. Then it says it's from Australia from my knowledge it's not real waygu they just selling name that's not official from Japan.

The only thing I would note is: use kosher salt, fresh cracked pepper, and take the meat out at least an hour before cooking, so it comes to room temp. If you have the chance salt and pepper the night prior, it will make the cheaper cuts more tender and juicier. I wish they had these meat vending machines in America, the closes thing I have seen is a beef jerky vending machine. Nice little video.
