  • Awesome air traffic fly-by collection as seen from the airplane cockpit: www.aviafilms.c...
    Here is our collection of awesome air traffic fly-by's as witnessed from a jet airplane cockpit. The airplanes flying past were at various altitudes and separations within RVSM airspace where the minimum distance between two planes is 1000 feet. This is why in some cases you can really enjoy the fast and close fly past of all kind of airplanes in this video. Some of the aircraft had contrails behind them and some did not. We also included a clip of a very large contrail just above our flight path coming most likely from a big 4 engine jet.
    Among others, you can spot the following airplanes in this air traffic video:
    Boeing 767 (no contrails)
    Boeing 777 (no contrails)
    Boeing 747
    Airbus A320 (with contrails)
    Boeing 737 (with and without contrails)
    Airbus A380 (with contrails)
    Airbus A321 (no contrails)
    The videos were filmed both during daylight as well as sunset to give you an even more enjoyable experience. If you ever become a pilot then this will be your cockpit office view!

      Mid flight speed is higgest. I have flown with Finnair airbus A319 and i miss flying. the shape of the airplane already indicates a high speed and that is the purpose of airplanes. it is safer to move faster in the air. there are many delusions before real experience. my brother has never been on a plane and it annoys me how wrong he thinking about airplanes.

    They look fast because they are in the opposite direction. Avg. speed for a hi-alt wide body passenger is somewhere from 900 to 1000 kmh. So two aircrafts going opposite to each other, the speed you observe will be 1800 to 2000kmh. That's why this looks so fast. I mean they really are fast but they are so big you don't experience them from land. If you really want to see how fast a plane is than stand somewhere parallel to V1 on runway and multiply by 2 or 2.5 to get the full speed hahah

    How close to another plane until you may experience air turbulence from that plane?

    • @leonmoy
      @leonmoy 5 лет назад

      It depends on the weight category and speed/configuration of the lead aircraft. Larger, slower-moving aircraft create greater wake turbulence (on approach, for example). Typically, wingtip vortices descend and move outward from wingtips of aircraft and can descend a thousand feet or more. If you are in a small aircraft following a slow moving heavy jet you may experience dangerous turbulence even if you are 8 miles or more behind. There are minimum separation standards applied between IFR aircraft, but it's generally recommended that smaller aircraft offset their flight path above larger aircraft to avoid disruptions from wake turbulence.

      There are several online Earth curvature calculator programs. With these platforms you can calculate the hidden part of a distant object, from the point of view of an observer. You just have to enter the distance to the object, along with the height of the point of view to get the results. Calculators also show the distance to the horizon from the observer.
      The environments take Earth as spherical, with a radius of 6371,393 km, and then use the Pythagorean theorem to calculate the distance to the horizon. Then use that distance to calculate the curvature of the Earth. If you do not know the precise distance from the observer to the object, you can use the map and navigation services.
      MetaBunk.org is an online community where you can find the scientific explanation, behind real-world events (phenomena, conspiracies, etc.). But it also has a calculator for the curvature of the Earth, the horizon, the bulge, the fall and the hidden height of an object. The platform has a basic mode, where you only have to enter two fields (target distance and the height of the observer). Then it will give you the distance between the viewer and the target. But you will also get additional information such as: The distance of the horizon, the bulge, the fall, the hidden height and the inclination of the horizon. In its advanced mode, you can enter the following values manually: Earth's radius, horizontal FOV and image width.
