    The two modes are “easy mode” and “normal mode” easy mode is built for beginners who don’t have that good of throttle control. It’s basically the same as the yokomo v4 gyro but slightly different tune. All my friends that have been driving for years don’t like the easy mode because the car feels like “it’s driving for you” or “has a mind of its own” if you’ve been drifting for a while I recommend the normal setting.

      Check if the connection is OK and the gyro gain is not set to 0. Also did you see the gyro initialize OK and did the light change the stage from the moment you turn the car on and the light goes solid? If there's no initialize phase then something is wrong, either the connection or the gyro is defective.

    I think I have an issue with my Power HD G1 gyro. When I set my first endpoint, all is good, but when I click for the second endpoint, the gyro flashes red and never turns solid red signifying that the gyro has been initialized. Do you know why that is?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  2 года назад

      Have you tried doing the opposite side when setting end point? Also check if the wiring is correct (judging from it went into EPA I'd assume it is correct).
      The never ending red flashing is really strange and never happen to me so either something went wrong or it's faulty. You can also try and reset the end point and see if it works without EPA setup. If it still doesn't work then the gyro is definitely faulty.

    • @BeaversHobby

      Gyro wobble can come from different things like vibration, the tyres or floor are not smooth, slop in the steering mechanism, etc. You'll have to check it one by one. If it wobbles but the car still drifts and you still have control then don't worry about it.

    What’s the difference between POWER HD G1 vs AFRC GYS-2 V3? Laos is there any other Banggood gyro I shld be looking at for the k989? I just ordered a nb4 is that helps with a decision. Idkkk what to get or why

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  3 года назад +1

      AFRC V3 is much smaller so if your car don't have much space, it's better. PowerHD G1 helps you drift more and it makes drifting much easier to the point that I feel like cheating but it's very big so if you get it you'll have to manage the space inside your car especially for WLtoys K989. For RWD drifting AFRC V3 is already great. PowerHD G1 helps if the car is unruly like the HGD1.
      So I'd say for K989 AFRC V3 is better.

    Hi friend, when you set the gyro On, does it change the turning radius become wider? Or still the same like gyro Off ? Could you check the difference. I’m curious. I want to use it in Arrma Senton shortcourse 1/10.

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  3 года назад +1

      The servo travel doesn't change when the gyro is on.
      Some will report slight understeer after using gyro. If you are turning at speed, the turning radius will become wider (depending on how much gain you use) because it'll try to correct the car and stop it from spinning. Otherwise it'll be the same.
      It reacts to the inertia of the car and moves the servo, that's basically how it works.

    Sweet video, just got this gyro and going to install it soon, question here:
    Let's say I adjusted the end points first on the TX, then adjust the end points on the gyro
    Is it then alright to increase the end points past the point of the physical steering ability so I can get more steering when on a turn the gyro won't let the wheels go full to one side?
    Using my previews gyro, when I had the endpoints where they should be when stopped, the gyro was stopping me from using full lock some times causing me to spin...

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  2 года назад +1

      You can increase the end points after setting it on the gyro but it's not going to do anything because the gyro will accept those values as min and max output. This is also to prevent the wheels from locking up and not return to the centre.
      The better way is to set the end points on the transmitter more than in should first, about 2-3 steps, set the end points on gyro then decrease the end points to what you will use. That way the gyro can move a bit more than what you set on the transmitter.

    • @MiniRacersRC
      @MiniRacersRC 2 года назад +1

      @@BeaversHobby Τhank you for the reply man! I don't know if I explained it well, what I am saying is when for example you set the end points on the transmitter exactly to lock, then when the gyro works and might be at an angle, then it won't let me use all my steering because the gyro thinks I shouldn't be doing that and I spin out. So I was wondering now the gyro has end points if I can set it so it somehow limits the off-limit servo move, but let me control the whole servo range within this range at all times...Could this be achieved...?

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  2 года назад +1

      @@MiniRacersRC Unfortunately, not form the end point setting. The end point is for min-max of the steering range. If the gyro won't allow you to move when you want then you'll have to decrease the gain.

    This looks like an accelerometer based gyro rather than a true gyro one. if you slide he car side to side and the wheels turn then it should be accelerometer where as if it only kicks in when rotating the car its gyro based. still playing with both to get an idea on how it changes the drifting style

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  3 года назад +2

      The Mini-Z mode is in the System > Radio Frequency Setup > RF Std. It's the mode for Mini-Z EVO series with the proprietary receiver and it doesn't concern the DRZ which is a car with standardize electronics or I call it "proper RC electronics".
      There's no preset for it but you can set the radio to do what you want. The main setups are steering and throttle direction, check if anything need reversing. Then set the EPA for steering first so you don't stress the servo by asking it to do beyond the steering range of the chassis. Then you can set the EPA for throttle to limit the speed and make it controllable.
      That's pretty much it. This is different from car to car (especially the EPA) so I can only tell you the basic idea.

      It's HGD1. It's not that good in today's standard but it'll get you sliding if you have no other choice. TG Racing should be in the same price range and it's way better than this.

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  3 года назад +1

      @@k.thomas295 It really depends on what you are looking for. My personal favourite is the GLD. But it already has a lot of upgrades to make it perfect to drive. Out of the box it should be about as good as DRZ V2. Those are top cars for 1/28 that are also easy to find unlike Driftart2 or DMK something. As for 1/24 scale BMR-X offers very good scale model compatibility. So basically you can't go much wrong with these 3 cars.

      @BeaversHobby  3 года назад

      @@claytondunlop248 The original package of Mini-Q AWD cars like Q5, Q6, Q7 comes with 2S lipo 400mAh and a charger already. You can buy the batteries separately, it's just standard 2S lipo 400mAh . It's the same size as in WLtoys so the battery is interchangeable. You can also buy other lipo to use with it too, GiantPower 300mAh, Turnigy Nanotech 300mAh both will fit inside the tray nicely.
      WLtoys come with Lipo already too so I don't know how you have K989 with AAA.
      As for the gyro, you can put in in and pull it out. As you can see in this video, you can plug it in easily and if you don't want to use it anymore, just unplug it and take it out of the car.
      Yes, the gyro in this video is excellent for any car and it's removable as you can see in the video, it's just some plugs and a double sided tape. If this is too big for the car, again, see the video for the measurement and check if it'll fit inside your shell, here's another great gyro to use for drifting and it's tiny as well so you won't have any trouble fitting it inside the car. bit.ly/2XD0Xms
