Halloween is my birthday and I’m counting these 3 weeks as little birthday treats for myself. Just found your channel and binged over the weekend. I love your vibe, personality and the tapestries….. love so much. I have just recently gotten back into crochet. I started years ago. Made an afghan and that was it, but I’m ready for all the things crochet now. Currently working on a sweater for myself and a blanket. All gifts to myself. Anyway, thanks for making October such a fun month.

I wanted to update how my first market went: I made my booth fee and more! I have lots of merch left, some Halloween themed so maybe someone will find it available on my Etsy now. I have plenty for next market (in December) at least. Learned a lot. People loved my stuffies! Some of my faves found new homes and I was so excited about it. Definitely here because I like hanging out with you on the internet. I don’t even remember the first video of yours I watched, but as you were talking about whatever it was I just kept saying to myself, “Me too! Oh, me too! No way, me too!” And I appreciate your silly sound transitions. I always look for them! My “me too” moment from this video is definitely The Office. I, like many others, always skip Scott’s Tots when I watch it start to finish 😆 and I’m currently working on tapestries as gifts for my besties for Christmas. I’ve been crocheting Christmas gifts since July at this point, but it’s fun!

It is not thriller per say but I love the series Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. I loved them! Also when growing up we always went out trick or treating and with all my cousins and we went all out with costumes.

Anyways Gilmore Girls is one of my favorite shows, I start rewatching it around this time every year. It gets better the longer you watch it! Good afternoon Bride of Frankenstein. As always a great video. I love these crochet with a friend ones especially as you are such a great vibe overall. I'm currently working on a couple of Halloween orders (ghosts walking dogs and cats lol and bat keychains) and some coffee koozies that I make for my local coffee shop (I make and donate them, they sell them for their school building foundation in Africa and they give me free coffee in return). This is my favourite season so I am in my element with a hot coffee, cozy blanket, my pup snuggling in, my crochet projects and catching up on videos. I love Gilmore Girls and like you I think Friends is way overrated. With books my go to genre is supernatural thriller/horror and my favourite author is Dean Koontz. His Odd Thomas series is brilliant. Have a great weekend. Blessings from Worcestershire UK.

Book recs!! Gillian Flynn writes great mystery/thrillers (sharp objects, gone girl) and Karin Slaughter has some thrillers that I rated 4-5 stars! I also loved the Silent Patient when I read it a few years ago. I also hear great things about Lucy Foley and Riley Sager but haven't read much of their work yet. Also, while watching this, I am crocheting a tapestry of Moo Deng the hippo lol. Love your crochet and chats!!

Your Haloween memories sounded so much fun. In my country (at least where I live) Haloween was not really celebrated when I was a kid, so it was new and very fun thing to hear about your experiances as a kid. I used to love reading, and now I love to listen to audiobooks. My favourite book genres are crime novels.

Mystery books… it’s maybe like a thriller mystery, but The Housemaid series by Freida McFadden was awesome! The first book is the best, totally had me hooked! All of them are good, twisty turny books and easy reads. Ha! Scratch all that… just got to the part where you said you’ve read most of her books. 😆🤦🏻♀️

I don’t read a ton of thrillers but The Mexican Gothic is one I read recently and it’s pretty good! I think I have it 4/5 stars! But on of my favorite books if you haven’t read it is The Book Thief! It’s not really mystery thriller but it’s soooo good!

Growing up in Massachusetts, we experience the exact opposite weather struggle on Halloween night. I grew up begging my parents to not make me wear a jacket over my costume because it was always freezing or snow on the ground
I had a moment of Friends in my life but I do feel like it was a bit overrated. I haven't watch Gilmore Girls in a little while so I might watch again soon. I put off watching the Office for a while but I did really enjoy it... mostly. Gabe was annoying. Anymore if I rewatch I typically will watch up until... Niagara Falls to avoid spoilers of anyone who may not have seen it yet. After that I'm kinda meh especially with some of the changes in later seasons. Oddly one sitcom I went down earlier this year was The Middle. So underrated! Is it the best? No but it definitely went under the radar and very enjoyable. I just started American Housewife first something totally different. And yes your core audience will hang out with you no matter what 💜
We loved trading with our cousins after trick or treat. We even used to do it Let's Make A Deal style. I am lucky as an adult without kids that I live in a neighborhood that goes HARD for Halloween. Seriously there are more decorations up now than Christmas. Oohhh I haven't made pumpkin cheesecake in ages.
Hi Dana, I had a similar experience with “The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires” where I just had to stop reading because I was so grossed out (and I’m not usually very squeamish). You’ve probably already read it but the “Silent Patient” was a really good mystery thriller (imo). It’s funny hearing you talk about Halloween in Arizona, I had the opposite in weather here in Canada! We always had to have costumes that would either fit over our snowsuits or be warm enough in case there was snow which half the time there was! 😂 ❄️

Funny you talk about growing up in Arizona for Halloween, I can't imagine. I grew up in the mountains of Colorado and literally remember running through almost waist deep snow on one Halloween night!😂sooo different, I think I'd choose the snow though cause adding a costume always kept us warmer.

I enjoyed the moving vlogs! Your content crochet related or not is definitely some of my favorites ( I tend to catch up on your videos first). I don't read a lot of thrillers, but I do enjoy a cozy/fun mystery. I recommend the Mr. Darcy and Miss Tilney series by Claudia Gray; the first is the murder of Mr. Wickham. It's based on Jane Austen characters after her stories (I enjoyed them having only read pride and prejudice). I also liked the Saffron Everleigh Mysteries by Kate Khavari; A Botanist's Guide to Parties and Poisons is the first book. I also tend to mostly listen to audiobooks. It's nice to be able to do other things while reading. I am continuing with my cardigan from last week this week. I'm on the last sleeve so it's almost done! Can't wait to see what the squares are for!
