Thanks for your words. It’s nice to see Samy Ling, haven’t been there for 20 years. I understand your doubts being isolated , but ultimately we have to do the practice ourselves. But it is nice to have a teacher close by. Anyway please keep you videos going if you can. They remind me of where I’m at, after 30+ years in the Dharma, sheathing and angry one minute loving and kind the next. Oh how easily come and go the Miriam form of things!

Thanks Keith for sharing you insight. It is heartening to hear from a long term practitioner who is not only realistic about their own practice but also remains positive 🙏🙏🙏

A light is no good if it remains hidden. What you share and teach is so needed. You say where you live now there is no community. But you are there so that will change. Thank you Lama Choga. 🙏🏼

Please continue your RUclips videos as you are able. Walking with you in the chill wet morning, sometimes a bit short of breath, your rambling reflections spontaneously instruct by simply telling the truth of your life. My monkey mind settles down and is at peace.

Lovely to hear you again. Very powerful emotional talk. Don't be disheartened. You are doing a wonderful job. From my studies and readings, they say liberation is a very difficult path and one in a million get there. Every lifetime is a step further and you have achieved more than many humans can achieve. You are unique and graced by nature to be on this path.

I feel I benefit greatly from your "ramblings". I too am somewhat isolated in the woods of Muskoka Ontario so youtube videos help me to learn and keep in touch. Thank you for sharing this very personal and heartfelt video. It has touched me immensely and increased my faith in the Three Jewels.

Thankyou Choga for your work vlogging your journey from Iceland to Arran then Samye Ling what an emotional trip!
you mentioned however strongly we were influenced then slowly that wears off.
during covid lockdown i noticed the same, a feeling of isolation and as if being tested.
i wish you all the best of luck in Canada in every way,
we are helping with my mum who had a new heart valve operation during covid..
iam so thankful she is here..keep doing what you do Choga you are influencing us by sharing your experience.
your father and mother must be so proud of you my friend.
    ciao.

I enjoy your videos, thank you so much for making them. I agree that turning a blind eye to the problems of the world is ignorant. I don't think people are really able to help if they are caught up in the problems and suffering themselves. In order for us to create a better environment, we have to recognize our ignorance and strive to live better lives so that others will be inspired to follow our example. Keep up the good work!

    I miss walking that path!
I was starting to feel at home there in 2018, living strict precepts, attending daily pujas, meditating praying and helping in the kitchen
I visited every 3 years. 2009, 2012 when I took refuge, 2015, 2018 when I was rejected without being told why ( I guess the lama was out of bounds to tell ). I returned in 2021, sat at the gates drunk as a monkey, camped behind the church , wept and prayed for Akong to return as they did not want me. Maybe they'd want him. I visited there for 12 years but realised I am a nobody, unwanted unloved and perhaps even resented for trying to get to the truth of things. I never found out . Khaten Lama had been trying his best to persuade us of past lives over many teachings in 2018. I was rejected for whatever reason. I wrote to the committee 3 times as requested but never got any reply. To me, to reject me is the same as rejecting the lineage. The bodhisattvas rejected me. Was not the founder of the religion a criminal?

Yes , " wait and see" Is the guidance of the Sangha there pertaining to myself. No one decides. Rejection is the way. The vajrayana way.

Hi Colm sorry to hear your story. I can't realy comment because I have no idea about the circumstances and there is no hint in your message. But you should know that you are worthy and also loved. You possess the Buddha Nature and that is most significant my friend ♥♥♥

Time is not running out it is infinite, it is our bodies that have a limited span on that road but our mind knows different on my path in the Dharma this has been my reality

    • @ultimatemeaning

One may also spend an infinity cycling around in meaningless distraction. If you are on the path then the trajectory is positive but that doesn't mean there isn't work to do.
For someone who can remain control of there mind even in sleep or dreams there is not urgency, but if that isn't you I cuggest you should prepare for the time of death
      🙏🙏🙏

Well, we've chosen this path or rather this path has chosen us and whether in the monastery or on the marketplace we have to stand tall so that the practice sets our teeth on edge! And yes, being surrounded by the world might require even more commitment and devotion, especially if we can't lean on anybody but have to take every step on our own two feet, stumbling, wavering, falling down, just to get up and keep on going because finally there really is just one direction!
So, I really hope you keep your vision and your vows and don't think too much about the paths others were taking.
Regards from the echo chamber 😅

I think many of the Dharma centers in the west especially, took a hit durring the covid era. Some still have very few attendees these days. As you say, change happens.

Since there is no such thing as time, there cannot be such a thing as running out of time. And if there is such a thing as Karma then we must all be in the correct place at the right time. Am I Wrong?

Does buddism have a view on the "bindu"?

    • @ultimatemeaning
      @ultimatemeaning  10 месяцев назад

Hi Joe, the Vajrayana teachings include the teachings on TSA, LUNG, TIGLE, or the winds, channels, and drops (bindu). externally it is identical to the hindu teachings but the view is quite different.

Sorry to hear about your rejection at Samye Ling. Your mention of you: “sat at gate drunk as monkey “ might suggest that your behavior can be the cause of rejection??? When we face a problem we usefully do not reflect our own behavior but look the cause of the problem someone else. When one truely wants to change once own life for better , the story of Anguly Mala , is the best story that everyone can be a part of a sangha again…..

its not things that are not satisfactory, its the feeling of unsatisfactory'ness that is not satisfactory
and that feeling comes from the false duality the subconscious mind creates
