Give it a rest man, Chelsea do not miss Mason Mount one tiny little bit, he’s been a complete flop for Man Utd, Mount wanted close to 300k which he doesn’t deserve and if it’s true Gallagher turned down a 150k contract he should get himself out of here we won’t miss Gallagher at all

Difference was the length of the contract that is why he turned down a 150K it wasn't the money but the length of the contract because Gallagher wants the long contracts the players are getting bc he is playing for his boy hood club so he wants to actually longer than what the owners were offering

This is one time I disagree. I actually think both parties are within their rights. Gallagher didn’t want to take a shorter contract, that’s fairs. If he doesn’t want to take a sale, and instead wants to wait it out and control his destiny, well good on him.
At the same time, Blueco has tried to sell Gallagher for 2 years. So this isn’t new to him. They offered him a contract that they felt was fair considering he isn’t a first team starter in their eyes. They have found him a good move, at least imo, to Atleti. That’s fair on them too. If they don’t want to put resources into a player that will wait his contract out, that’s their prerogative.
Too many people ear letting emotion rule them. Logically both sides can do what they think is best.

True though at the same time Gallagher have shown that he performed very well last season. So the narrative about he doesn't deserve to be on first team is an utter crap because he has shown the quality for all eyes to see.
Plus he's from Chelsea academy which paint a bad color to the club treatment towards their own academy player.
At this point any Chelsea academy player would rather play for other club because they're not valued to stay in chelsea.

  • @pboss1

Chelsea has done as much for Gallagher as he has done for Chelsea. They took care of him before he became a professional, he is their investment. He is aware Chelsea has been trying to move him on, so why has he been pushing it
    1. Everton 45m 18 months
    2. Aston villa 57m last month
    3. Atletico 34m now
These Academy boys are asking for too much
    1. Christensen rejected our contact and join Barca for free
    2. Mount rejected our contract and join Manchester United

We all know he will strive on a transitional play system, but for a positional play he is yet to prove himself. This is a reasonable offer base on options available to the club. I am sure the club will offer a better contract and his value and opportunity to earn more will increase, if he stays on that limited contract and prove he can play under Moresca. Matt stated that Gallagher has the ball in his court, unlike Mason allegedly had, so it's only right to question the information being put out there, for all we know it could be Connor's team making things difficult. It would be a real shame if he left, but there is no way he starts in this squad, not good enough on the ball - Loose dribbling unfortunately, not got that awareness and instead passed sideways or back a lot.

I'm with Gallagher. You can't compare him to Rudiger, he was a bought-in pro. Gallagher came up through our academy, but the a***holes currently running the club just it as a cash cow, importing all these one-day-maybes from South America, none with any connection to the club, or even the country. If he says, fine, and sits out a year then goes to whom he wants on no doubt much better terms, good on him. I guess a lot of supporters don't give a damn just so long as the team keeps winning. I'm afraid I'm a bit old school and believe players are more than just units to be traded. A mix of purchases with a core of guys who came up through the ranks. That's what Ferguson managed with the great treble-winning Man U team Abramovich admired and sought to emulate. Sure, he made some unwise purchases - Crespo, Veron, Shevchenko, Torres, Lukaku, etc, and should never have let Mourinho to persuade him to let people like de Bryune go, but his heart was in the right place. i.e., the club. I doubt the present crew have their hearts anywhere near it.

@@AlphaFootball23 Maresca has ZERO say in the future of Gallagher. There is no way someone who was arguably our second best player last season cannot fit into Maresca’s system. Maresca is just another coach. I keep hearing Maresca’s system Maresca’s system. His system is nothing we haven’t seen before in football. No way the Leicester city guy is better than Gallagher. That’s not possible. We know all this is about money, and Chelsea will be the eventual looser, because the guy is going to stay one more year and leave on a free transfer, just like Christensen and Rudiger.
It’s only a matter of time before it becomes clear that the owners and their sporting directors are running the club into the ground. In the next 5 to 6years, many of these young stars would start leaving to better run clubs when they are in their primes, and then it would become obvious how poorly the club has been run.

Am not really sure if i can care more of whom they sell for now. if they can sell Hazard at that point he's very important to the progress of the club for money i guess. We were just lucky with T-Tuchel as a very tactical coach at that time. Can HE? Even Palmer as a new signing in a short time have help the club to maintain some high stardard more than some academy products combined..

The problem is Conor wants starter money. I’m sure the club would have given Conor 3+1 instead of 2+1 if Conor would have accepted 70-75k a week instead of double that and some change.
We all like Conor as a squad player, everyone loves to keep saying that and I agree. But, Conor CLEARLY doesn’t see himself as a squad player.
The club can’t have a guy who comes in with 15 minutes left to see out a game who is making $150k/week.
I mean, I’m even curious how Enzo might fit into this midfield if Lavia continues to show his skills as the deepest MF’er. This MF that could also include Palmer or Nkunku playing as advanced 8’s is just too stacked.
Ultimately, the club can’t just allow high level players to leave for free. It’s a gigantic loss when that occurs. Just because he is an academy player, they can’t make exceptions to that policy. Everyone is just taking this too personally. Conor has been offered a great transfer option.

This Gallagher situation happened to Malouda, Anelka and Drinkwater under Abrahimovic and with Lukaku, Ziyech, Sarr. It's always happened even before Boehly.
Gallagher has rejected Astonvilla, Atletico Madrid bids and he has rejected a 3 year contract with Chelsea. The guy wants to run down his contract and go on a free so that he can sign big wages in his next club and make Chelsea lose money.
But Chelsea have a rule where if a player is in the last 2 years of his contract, he either renews or gets sold
So what are the options? Bow to the demands of a player they don't see as integral to the way we play, or lose him on a free? Those two options won't work for Chelsea.
Hence Chelsea have a right to fight against that, people should remove their emotions from it

Gallagher exit is cold, ruthless, portfolio turnover. Setting new precedents - Mount, Maatsen, Chalobah and Gallagher. Pure academy profit. Seed money for future ventures. Not about opportunity or capability. Rumor if true is Madueke may be for sale.
Chelsea needs a striker, winger, left back depending on what deals get done. News on Kepa has gone quiet.
Today's game will be about man management vs which type of team Guardiola puts out. Youngsters, mixed, vets with best youth. Guardiola could be playing mind games for season opener. Poker game play.

Cole Palmer has be shifted into midfield because Estevao will play on RW. Paéz also coming in next season. We signed already Comor´s replacement in KDH. Who earns max 40% what Conor got offered. His gametime would be limited to bench/rotation. And being honest and telling him about it is IMO kinda fair.
