A KO means the boxer was given a clean strike and was unable to continue fighting a TKO is either conceding, having a major injury and or can’t defend themselves so the ref calls the fight. in amateur boxing and some professional boxing regions a TKO is also being knocked down three times in a single round.

She pretty much reset the rules for women's sports. There's really nothing to disqualify anyone from competing as a woman now days. Even if they fail the gender test, pretty much just adjust their gender on their gov ID. The coming years for woman's sport will be totally different, Imane broke that barrier even if she is a woman, the way it was handled and how she is filing lawsuit on the opposing community. it isn’t simple, having xy chromosomes isn’t the all-determinant you may think it is. i have a condition that makes me a chromosomal male (xy) while having a completely female phenotype (bodily structures), and if anything i’m weaker than the average woman. there are other intersex variations that may result in increased performance, and whether that’s fair is another debate entirely, but just having xy chromosomes doesn’t represent an advantage.

In the interest of spreading… actual information, I’m copying another Redditors comment from another thread, because this is infuriating.
The short(ish) version is that she's a cis woman who been competing for years against other women, and there was no issue, including at the 2020 Olympics. Never any question of her gender or testosterone levels, no articles, no headlines, no commentary from her opponents, nothing. She doesn't even have a particularly stellar record, though she's been improving in recent years.
She was even tested at the 2022 World Championships and they didn't find any problems. She took the silver medal without incident.
Up until the 2023 World Championships - when she beat a Russian boxer.
Quick backstory on the IBA, the boxing organization that tested her and oversees the Boxing World Championships: it's been in contention with the IOC for years for issues of corruption and concerns over refereeing and judging, but things have gotten worse over the past few years. The IOC was concerned about the IBA's complete financial dependence on their sponsor: Russian-owned Gazprom. The IBA also elected a corrupt Russian president in 2020, and in 2022 they (wrongly) declared his re-election opponent ineligible, so he won an uncontested re-election. Multiple countries including the US and UK boycotted the 2023 World Championships because the IBA suspended Ukraine and un-suspended Russia and Belarus in 2022, against IOC guidelines. All of this ultimately resulted in the IOC severing ties with the IBA, which hasn't happened with any sport in decades. They fucked up so bad that the IOC may drop boxing altogether; another organization has risen up and is attempting to replace the IBA in order to save boxing at the Olympics.
Anyway. Imane Khelif competes in the World Championships in 2022, undergoes testing, no eligibility issues, takes the silver medal. She competes in 2023, no eligibility issues. Gets to the Round of 16, beats a Russian boxer...suddenly, she gets tested again and based on the results of that test AND her test from 2022, they declared her ineligible.
The IBA never said what kind of test it was, just that it wasn't a testosterone test, nor did they explain the results, citing privacy. In an interview with Russian state-owned media, the Russian president of the IBA said that they did a DNA test and found that Khelif had XY chromosomes, but again...look at the source, the audience, the track record of corruption, the timing...
Plus, they did this test in 2022 and didn't have any issue with the results? They used the 2022 test as part of their basis for disqualifying her - even though they allowed her to compete in 2023, up until she beat a Russian athlete.
So there's no evidence that she has higher testosterone. She competed in the 2020 Olympics without incident, even when other female athletes with high testosterone were withdrawn. And the IBA didn't administer a testosterone test.
There's also no other information, testing, questions, or anything that she has talked about that would allude to any sort of chromosomal or hormonal difference. She identifies as a woman and always has.
People are diagnosing her with all kinds of conditions but there’s actually no evidence for any of it aside from one vague test that an extremely corrupt organization associated with Russia subjected her to when she beat a Russian athlete, the results of which were only discussed by the Russian president of the corrupt organization when he talked to Russian media.
Disband the IOC. Cancel the Olympics. Blame it on woke politicians.

I'm a 61 year old boxing/Muay Thai coach. I can't fight for more than 30 seconds against my good 20-something male students. Even being this old, there is no way a female at any age could compete. It isn't ego - I am much stronger still. Women's sports need to be protected; Womens' sports are for real women, not loser males that couldn't compete against other males. The Algerian Olympic team needs to be banned, from start to finish, for at least the next 4 Olympics. It is just cheating, nothing more, nothing less.

From what I've seen, she was born a female, can bear children and has a menstrual cycle. I believe she was also born with a XY chromosome, so she produces more testosterone than other women. That's what I understand.
chromosomes aren’t the sole factor here. i’m xy but i have pretty much all female anatomical structures because of a genetic mutation in my Y chromosome. no “excess testosterone,” no “unfair advantage,” even though i technically have male chromosomes.

Yep i totally agree with that. Even though she was born a woman she has this rare condition that naturally pumps herself with more testosterone levels than an average female. Giving herself an obvious (and unfair)advantage. Since you can also take hormones to raise the level, which is banned, she should have taken medication to actually lower the level. The short(ish) version is that she's a cis woman who been competing for years against other women, and there was no issue, including at the 2020 Olympics. Never any question of her gender or testosterone levels, no articles, no headlines, no commentary from her opponents, nothing. She doesn't even have a particularly stellar record, though she's been improving in recent years.
She was even tested at the 2022 World Championships and they didn't find any problems. She took the silver medal without incident.
Up until the 2023 World Championships - when she beat a Russian boxer.
Quick backstory on the IBA, the boxing organization that tested her and oversees the Boxing World Championships: it's been in contention with the IOC for years for issues of corruption and concerns over refereeing and judging, but things have gotten worse over the past few years. The IOC was concerned about the IBA's complete financial dependence on their sponsor: Russian-owned Gazprom. The IBA also elected a corrupt Russian president in 2020, and in 2022 they (wrongly) declared his re-election opponent ineligible, so he won an uncontested re-election. Multiple countries including the US and UK boycotted the 2023 World Championships because the IBA suspended Ukraine and un-suspended Russia and Belarus in 2022, against IOC guidelines. All of this ultimately resulted in the IOC severing ties with the IBA, which hasn't happened with any sport in decades. They fucked up so bad that the IOC may drop boxing altogether; another organization has risen up and is attempting to replace the IBA in order to save boxing at the Olympics.
Anyway. Imane Khelif competes in the World Championships in 2022, undergoes testing, no eligibility issues, takes the silver medal. She competes in 2023, no eligibility issues. Gets to the Round of 16, beats a Russian boxer...suddenly, she gets tested again and based on the results of that test AND her test from 2022, they declared her ineligible.
The IBA never said what kind of test it was, just that it wasn't a testosterone test, nor did they explain the results, citing privacy. In an interview with Russian state-owned media, the Russian president of the IBA said that they did a DNA test and found that Khelif had XY chromosomes, but again...look at the source, the audience, the track record of corruption, the timing...
Plus, they did this test in 2022 and didn't have any issue with the results? They used the 2022 test as part of their basis for disqualifying her - even though they allowed her to compete in 2023, up until she beat a Russian athlete.
So there's no evidence that she has higher testosterone. She competed in the 2020 Olympics without incident, even when other female athletes with high testosterone were withdrawn. And the IBA didn't administer a testosterone test.
There's also no other information, testing, questions, or anything that she has talked about that would allude to any sort of chromosomal or hormonal difference. She identifies as a woman and always has.
People are diagnosing her with all kinds of conditions but there’s actually no evidence for any of it aside from one vague test that an extremely corrupt organization associated with Russia subjected her to when she beat a Russian athlete, the results of which were only discussed by the Russian president of the corrupt organization when he talked to Russian media.

From what I have gathered she was born female (that is with female organs), thus biologically woman, and is accordingly mentioned in her passport and other documents. That she posses some chromosomes that are keen to males, she is not the only one. She never had sex change or anything close to it. This whole thing is overblown because of last year's IBA "controversial tests".

It seems the IOC didn't confirm or deny any of the allegations levelled against Imane Khelif, they only confirm that the situation isn't clearly "black and white ".

My POV is that this person has something (DSD perhaps) that falls into a grey area in the regulations but being from Algeria, this was overlooked at birth.

I am no expert on this topic but I would imagine that most of the time, a vagina created by plastic surgery is not going to be as complete as a biological female vagina. A medical scan of the Pelvis will also show if the person is a woman or male. It is reported that Imane Khelif was born in 1999 so she should also still have menstrual cycles. I don't understand why the blood work failed.
The IOC refutes another unconnected regulators testing? Not only does the IOC have no right to do this, they have way too many skeletons in their closet to make any sort of judgment. All of this is happening because the IOC doesn't have a reasonable policy in place to deal with this issue.

In other words, legally, people who are identified in a legal document as female can participate in the female category.
