Thanks for making our day(s). At 80 we can't do cruising but we watch your videos and it brings smiles to us. We just love Ollie, what a hoot! You Loopers have our respect!
great film, you should be employed by the state as a tourist guide. Glad to see also the difference in high and low tide. Hope the winds treat you well. Enjoy
Fort Frederica is so pretty as was the whole cruise to it! I love the history you gave. Ollie and the yogurt container was priceless! You two are so wonderful to watch and listen to…you always seem so calm (I’m sure there are stressful times but you seem to handle everything with such grace). Thanks for all the hard work you put into your filming! Happy and safe travels you three!
Very interesting to learn what life was like at Fort Frederica, beautiful place. What was the tick count on Ollie. I always used Seresto flea/tick collars they work super. Don't like insecticide chews or tablets inside my dogs. Ticks are going to get worse up north also. Hope you weather out the bad weather OK. Aloha!
Oooh the tick count was insane, easily 100 ticks (not exaggerating). Cool to know those collars work - that would definitely be less invasive than the medicine! Aloha!
You guys are awesome. Your interest in and investigation into these kind of historical sites along your Loop journey -- is SO refreshing! GoodOnYa & keep it up! Two thumbs up!
Many thanks for the tip and Bob423 link to the tracks - very helpful! As I prepare to continue my Loop in a couple weeks I always seem to pick up a tid-bit from your videos - much appreciated!
I am so glad I found your channel! The loop is one of my dreams in the future when I semi-retire and seeing you guys do it, showing the good and the bad is awesome. We have 2 pups who will be getting trained on boating this summer on our pontoon in preparation for full time living, as well as improving my boating skills. If you guys decide to do the Lake Champlain portion, let me know and I would love to take all 3 of you out for lunch or supper! I posted a Harbor Guide on the AGLCA forum, and as a small time RUclipsr myself, I appreciate the work you put into your videos, as well as the bloop's.
Sweet! Thanks for checking us out 🤙 sounds like a great plan re: pups and training them on the pontoon. Ollie loves the boat but doesn’t love doing business on the boat haha. Thanks for the offer for Lake Champlain and best of luck getting out there! Cheers!
Thanks Eric! The biggest reason is that we have to use our dinghy a minimum of 2 times a day so the time it takes us to hoist and bring it down kind of gets in the way. However just recently, the past week or so we’ve been hoisting it more so who knows what we’ll do going forward 😁
I really enjoy your videos - great content! Have you decided which route you will take through the Great Lakes? I have a few recommendations on Lake Erie that I want to post in your Google Form, but you may not travel the Erie Canal or the Welland Canal on your route.
Thanks so much! We haven't fully made the decision just yet, it'll be a gametime decision! If we made it now, we would travel up the half-eerie -> oswego canal -> trent-severn. But if you have recommendations any where else feel free to share those too! It could influence our decision OR if you opt in to us forwarding them then others can benefit! Cheers 😁
Hey guys. Just checking in. Pretty sure I sent another note about a slip for you in Oriental if you stop in but I do not see it in the thread. Was it deleted??? Or did I not send?
@@richardoates5435 Hey Richard! Not sure, I don't think I've seen the note but we could have missed it! Feel free to drop us an email at contact@schoandjo.com! Cheers
Ya'll will be experts on tics and no-see-um before you know it. great video, your really taking the time to stop and smell the roses so to speak, or stop to let the ticks feast maybe. thanks for the informative videos of the places you stop. My wife would not be interested in stopping at most of these places so we would just push on past them.
Haha smelling roses, ticks feasting, all part of the lovely outdoors 😁 To each their own - that's was awesome about the loop, there are so many fantastic stops right next to each other that you can literally choose only the ones you like!!
The states of Georgia and South Carolina both have an issue with Lyme disease which is transmitted by deer ticks. Both humans and dogs can get the disease and it can cause a lot of pain and physical difficulties. I don’t want to give any incorrect information so If you have not done so, you guys should probably read up on the disease, it’s symptoms and preventive care.
Hello, I'm really enjoying your nature vids. I don't know if you can find any eucalyptus oil. If you mix some of that with cider vinegar in a spray bottle, it's an effective tick repellent. I've heard of people using cedar oil too. Also if you get into an area with lots of flies, you can rub lime juice on your skin and the flies won't land or bite you. They hate the bitter taste. It might work for no seeums too. Your Cumberland series was really enjoyable
Must have been pretty tough for the settlers but they did have land and freedom despite having to fight the Spanish for it. I believe the name came from the Prince of Wales. I wonder why it fell into ruins after the war (British / Spanish) finished?
For sure! That’s interesting regarding the prince of Wales, not sure why it degraded but there was a huge fire that raved the town. Maybe they just didn’t feel like rebuilding as the main mission was accomplished
The fort looked awesome! It is always pretty wild to see the remains of buildings and envision what was there before. Not a bad anchorage either!
Totally want to build a tiny home with those dimensions - a two story brick house that’s like 20x20 seems so cute haha
Yeah, that was a nice place to pull in from the weather and to do some exploring. That little place had a lot of history.👍
It was a neat spot - thanks for watching T Mac!
Fascinating spot. Thanks.
Love it all. Great history!!!
Thanks!!

Haha wow thanks Buck - means a lot 😁 Cheers
I am new to your channel making the Great Loop. I really enjoyed this episode. Thank you.
Thanks for watching, Larry!
We have matching coffee pots! I love mine
Hehe nice! Been using it for many years and it’s held up!
Another great video, we are 2 years from our loop
Sweet! So close!
Awesome vedio love HISTORY
Thanks as always Frank!

Thanks so much Suzanne! You’re so kind ☺️ we need to find a way to get Ollie as the “Chobani girl” or something 😂 she loves the yogurt!!

Came to comments to recommend seresto collars.

Thanks so much y’all!! The Loop really has a ton to offer no matter where you stop 😁
I appreciate the historical sights and explanations. Thanks
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the info and tour of Fort Frederica. Ollie loves yogurt. ♥️♥️♥️
She needs to be the poster child for Chobani or something 😁
@@SchoandJo 👍
Thanks for the National Monument tour…enjoyed it!

Nice! Glad the stuff we are sharing is helping! Cheers
Do you give Ollie Nexguard which repels ticks?
Another product Permethrin repels ticks on clothing.
Check it out and stay safe.
Nope, we haven't heard of those - Ollie does have monthly flea and tick medicine though I'm not quite sure the brands.... thanks!!

That’s a heck of a tide change. We have nothing like that here…except for surges during hurricanes.
Hehe just part of Georgia! Cool to see and experience but we're glad to be getting out of it as we head North!
I believe they were small of statue than we are today.
Thanks for providing so much info. Ya'll are so incredibly talented in your photography and filming. I'm wishing you a happy, fun and safe future 😊
Aww thanks so much!!
Jenn did Elliot sing Brad Paisley's - "Ticks" to you after the trip to Fort Frederica.
Haven't heard this song before but gave it a listen now 😂 "I'd like to check you for ticks" lol
Do you have bug screens on the windows and doors? It's amazing where you can take a 34 CHB! I love the videos keep up the good work! Thomas
Thanks Thomas! We do! They work flawlessly the majority of time unless the no-see-ums are swarming...
May I ask a question? Why do you always tow your dinghy when you have a rack for it? Thanks and I have very much enjoyed your videos of the loop.
Thanks Eric! The biggest reason is that we have to use our dinghy a minimum of 2 times a day so the time it takes us to hoist and bring it down kind of gets in the way. However just recently, the past week or so we’ve been hoisting it more so who knows what we’ll do going forward 😁

@@SchoandJo Thanks for the update. I will post a recommendation or two in your form. I vote for the Erie Canal to Buffalo. Go Bills !
If you haven't passed Oriental yet I'll be in town 4/19 and 4/20 if you would like to meet. Safe travels.
Thanks Richard! Haven't made our way through just yet, will probably be through around the end of this week. Cheers!

What do you use to carry your camera on your belt?
We use the peak design camera clip!
WOW more tics!!!
Hehe seems to be the theme of these hikes 😁 but thats it for a while!!
Hello
Whats uo with all the zip-ties on the Bimini supports?
We use the zip ties for mounting our led string lights we turn on some evenings 😁
Can’t believe it doesn’t smell
That marsh can be pretty powerful stuff 😂
you don't have sonar ? (at 1:42) is the chart plotter not accurate for the depth ? stay safe, Tim and Cat
We have sonar but no radar!! Whoops 😁😁 good catch!
If you have had ticks on your, be on the lookout for Lyme disease.
No doubt!
?? No Radar ??
Yep no radar! I think I might have said sonar in the video (woops)
You still are…..
