Thank you for sharing your talent again Eric. Whenever you put a new video out I'm like a child on Christmas morning desperate to see what Santa has brought. Your work is as amazing as always and is my biggest inspiration. I wish the amount of times I watched your videos would somehow trigger RUclips's algorithm so you would get thousands more views and subscribers. I think so many artists are oblivious to someone with your talent (one of the THE best british wildlife (and portrait) artists currently working) and how much you give to us. You have inspired me to continue art and keep dreaming about becoming professional at some point in the future. If I succeed you have been one of the key factors in that happening. Thank you 🙏

Beautiful! I learned from this video to figure out where the lights and shadows will go and mark them early on to establish reference. Also always love when the eyes are put in, and that moment when the background grass first appeared in the painting was magic! Great to learn reflective qualities... how you put some tiger orange in the background and some green in the tiger. The layers look like you work dark to light, and light seems to come forward and black receeds to the background. Beautiful artwork! Thank you for sharing this video!

    Just HOW?!
I could not have the patience to also wait for the paint to dry. Wish to paint with oil just once, maybe in the future.
I guess I have to learn more and more to get to this level💜

Thank you! :) I enjoy doing it, so it really doesn't feel like it requires any patience on my part. Doing other types of work certainly does! 😀 but generally not for me with painting.

I found your channel through your website and THIS was the first video of yours I watched and THE video I needed so much to see. I do hyperrealism but tended to focus too much on the details in the past and now I'm focusing on the values much more. I've always struggled with wanting to draw/paint bigger and never had the confidence too. This video gave me such a strong sense of confidence that 3/4 of the way through this video I had tears in my eyes. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful demonstration of your work, it's been so inspiring. I look forward to seeing more.

    • @ericwilsonfineart

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking about there. Do you mean the toxicity? If so there's no problem with OIL. The problem is the SOLVENTS used to thin oil paint.
