  • Has Finpub lost its soul?
That's the question on the mind of Brian Hicks, co-founder of Angel Publishing.
Newsletter publishing has always been an alternative voice to mainstream narratives.
Did we lose that during the longest bull market in history?
Did we move away from being "voices" with alternate perspectives and challenging worldviews to just talking about profit plays, potential gains, and "chasing the easy" money?
And if so, did it hurt us?

Loved this and Brian's view on the industry. Brian: why haven't we ever worked together???

Agreed. Why HAVEN'T you ever worked together?
But also -- totally agree with the notion of approaching publishing as a philosopher.

Great interview and insights into the industry. Going forward, I think publishers and editors need to think of themselves as financial and societal "sherpas," where they guide readers and subscribers through what will probably be a very challenging period of time. Folks want to know that you have their best interests at heart, and that you're not just trying to pitch the latest hot stock, crypto or NFT.
